*With a strong gust of wind, Japan lands on one of the lampposts. He looks left and right but there is no sign of his friends. This is certainly a troubling matter. He was supposed to be in the heavens by now - but for some reason, he couldn't get out of this wretched underwater palace.

A sigh.*

And I still have this lump I need to give back to the old man ...

*The tengu flips his wings few times out of restlessness. Few of his feathers flutter down to the ground.*

We did have fun that we did. Too bad there doesn't seem to be much merry souls under the sea.

*... He also should stop talking to himself.*

That kind of laughter makes me ill.

*Japan looks at up the castle.* But I feel that it will soon change ... I think there will be a gathering soon. One I am sure most people will be able to enjoy.

It is a rather unfortunate form of laughter. [A soft sigh accompanied a slight shake of his head.]

I do hope so. It'd be nice to see everyone more carefree for a change once more.

That is certainly reassuring. [He smiled lightly for just a moment but the smile faded quickly. Somehow he managed not to actually sigh at that.]

Perhaps... I'm just one of those who has a somewhat familiar face for whatever reason.

*This is seriously bothering Japan now. It feels like he's missing a bigger picture somehow. He jumps down from top of the lamppost and lands in front of Canada.*

[He took a step back in surprise, then immediately offered an apologetic look. Japan's sudden appearance like that had simply startled him. That was all.]

It is wise to just accept things in times like this. *He finally fishes out a ... small gourd??* This is a special item, so treasure it.

[With maple syrup? Dangit Japan. Now he's going to have to give him a gift back. He's totally going to leave it on the doorstep late at night, too, so Japan can't say no.]

T- thank you. [He's still smiling politely as he accepts the gourd, because, dammit. He can't turn down a gift. Plus even if he wanted to say no, he wouldn't have.] I'll certainly treasure it.

I ask nothing more. You'll find it interesting, no doubt. *If you open the cork, you can cause things to shrink. Japan wonders what kind of things Canada will do with it. Heh heh.*

[Oh good. All the syrup is the best. ....best. gift. ever. Oh god. Canada's going to enjoy it far more than Japan can could possibly ever imagine.] I have no doubts at all that I will.
