While the villains are away...

Seems like crime has taken a step up from just purse-snatching or someone stealing forty cakes when no one was looking. Those with a great sense of hearing or who happen to be at the wrong place at the right time will find that the good people of Vatheon are in danger. It's up to anyone who is willing to help to work together to save the day!

-Carol-

[In the lower district there were these warehouses lining along the barrier’s wall. One of them had a large neon sign with the words “Villains are here” flashing in lights. Anyone investigating the outside of the building will hear someone yelling for help.

Even if it’s obviously a trap, a hero must do their duty. And maybe clues about the real location of the nest of villains could be found.

The warehouse has been converted to a giant fun house with Indiana Jone’s Raiders of the Last Ark type traps. Getting help with navigating through this maze of traps and nurse themed goons would definitely be a good idea.

At the end of the maze, should people succeed, they will find Carol.]

-Hostage Hotel-

[A message will flash across the Starfish communicator asking for help.]

Help. At the Hotel they have guns

[Any messages sent in response will not be answered.

Seems that the city’s hotel has been taken over. The police are making a barrier and trying to negotiate, without any luck, with the crooks. They have the hotel owners and a their guests hostage on the top floor. They are armed, and very dangerous. Their demands include an escape route and a suitcase full of money.

Are you there to save the day or just get the scoop? Work together with the police or other heroes to save the day.]

-Like a bandit-

[There seems to be a burglar committing a string of crimes. They stole a rather large diamond from the jewelry store, money from the casino, and snatched a vase from an auction house. Thy only thing was a picture or a riddle for the scene of the next crime. The police are refusing to release the previous clues, but a reporter has managed to get a picture of the new message.]

What has branches and leaves and no bark?

-Anonymous Voice-

[A voice can be heard over everyone's communicator in the morning.]

There are twenty bombs hidden all over the city’s park. They will go off in a half hour. Find them before someone gets hurt.

[The caller might be using a synthesizer to disguise their voice, but locating them shouldn’t be a priority yet. Get those bombs out of the park before time runs out. Super speed or getting help would be beneficial for the ducks. Think of the ducks please.]

[They may also wind up stumbling or following a goon back to the actual secret base to listen in on a meeting at their own risk. Good luck!

((If you are open to being threadjacked, then please put Open in your subject line. If you have an idea already and want to play it out with a particular group of people, then please put Closed in your subject. Thank you.

Have fun playing out the scenarios, and feel free to drop a note in the subject line if Carol or the hotel owners are needed or if you believe characters may have solved the riddle! The location of the bombs is random and characters are encouraged to locate and defuse them on their own.))

[Don't mind her, she's just going to walk around and try to look like she's doing something else entirely. She's slowly making her way around to be behind Dirk, where he can't see her unless he turns around.

Then she just stands there for a moment, waiting to see if Dirk is reacting at all or not.

[He stays still for a moment, then turns and grabs the bowler hat off her head.]

Better luck next time.

[GLARING AT HIM she thought this disguise was perfect. And without a word she stomps off to go get another disguise and try again.

But while she's gone, Dirk might notice some weird things happening in his general area. Like the couple at the table to his right, when one of them set down their cup of coffee it hit the spoon on the table in just the right way to knock it over and spill coffee everywhere. And the man who just walked in the door, in a one-in-a-million chance he somehow tripped on the half-inch step up in the doorway and fell and hit his head.

All around the cafe, sudden misfortunes are happening at an alarming rate.

[The coffee is an accident. The tripping is unfortunate. But as things keep happening, Dirk gets more and more suspicious. Something is happening around here, though he doesn't yet know or suspect what it's connected to. For that reason, he's on edge as he watches the cafe and the doorway.]

[About fifteen minutes after she left, Yotsuba runs into the cafe again, with a pastel blue water gun tucked into the front of her shorts. She dives under a table and scrambles for cover, making a group jump up in surprise and knock over all their drinks, because one guy was unfortunate enough to bump the table with his knee as he jumped up. Then she quickly crawls out from under that table to the bar-seating area, where she stands up and shimmies her way between the stools and the bar itself, pressed back against the wall as far as she can go, though she still bumps into at least one of the stools, which suddenly cracks along one of the legs and falls backwards on itself (though thankfully it was unoccupied at that moment).

Finally, at the end of the bar, she finally jumps out and pulls out her water gun and points it at Dirk.
]

Reach for the sky!

[Interestingly enough, while there was chaos happening around her, nothing bad happened to Yotsuba herself. Somehow she was fortunate enough to avoid getting hurt or having anything spilled on her.]

[It could be attributed to her moving along too quickly to be interfered with. But it's suspicious, on top of everything else that happened. So when she finally reaches Dirk, he puts his hands up, bace blank.

She'll probably shoot her water gun at him anyway.]

[Yep.

Little kids are very predictable like that.

Now you owe me a shirt.

[Seriously, look at his, it's all wet. How dare Yotsuba.]

Then get a new one.

[It's not that hard. Really, Yotsuba, he's disappointed in you. Mostly because it was so easy to turn this around again.]
