2nd Combo - A Fairy Tale Knight
Characters: Lloyd Irving and every eligible-- everyone
Location: All over the place
Time: From dawn until dusk
Style: You pick and I'll match
Status: Open
[It's been two days since he started coming to his senses, the false memories of that other life already fading back into the ether of whatever spell had created them. As they disappear, though, he remembers. The ball, the one he'd danced with, that moment of timeless magic when their eyes had met and their hearts had known.
The tolling of the bell as midnight approached.
His partner had fled, he didn't know why - but they'd left their shoe behind. The shoe he now holds clutched in his hands. It must have been crafted with magic, he knows, because there is no other way to explain how the delicate glass could support a person's weight without breaking. Surely this shoe was made to fit one foot and one foot alone. It's the only clue he has to the identity of his love. He doesn't even know his love's name or gender. He only knows that they hold his heart.
And that he's going to find them, even if he has to try this shoe on every person in the land.
Speaking of which...
He approaches the next person he sees, giving them a bow fit for the knight he is.]
Excuse me, yes, you. Your pardon, but can I have a moment of your time?
[ooc: Only a "Cinderella" will fit the shoe. Let me know if this is the case. o/]

W-wait!

Searching? Who're you searching for? You don't even have shoes on. Are you all right?
no subject
[Yes, hold onto that, remember that they are real and your sisters.]
no subject
[But that one had been evil and holding a princess captive. He'll just... not mention that.
Something niggles at the back of his memory, though. That isn't the only unicorn he's seen, is it?]
You don't have to worry, my lady. There are definitely still unicorns around.
no subject
Where are they? Tell me, please!
no subject
I don't know where they are right now, but the one I met was in the meadow. His... Her name was Zelos.
[Just a slight hesitation there. For some reason, he's not entirely sure what gender the unicorn was.]
no subject
[She raises her palm to her forehead, resting it against the star-shaped mark just under her hairline.] This body is wrong, it is.. it is making me forget.
[Zelos looks dangerously close to collapsing.]
no subject
Lloyd stares at the woman, then shakes his head. Something is definitely wrong.]
I think you're confused. You're not a unicorn.
[Not just confused. She doesn't look good at all. Worried, Lloyd reaches out to her, ready to catch her if she falls.]
I think you should sit down. Are you hurt?
no subject
[But the effort proves too much for her, this frail human body giving up before she is prepared and causing her to collapse into Lloyd's arms with a small "oh!".
Something in the back of her mind vies for her attention, but she cannot focus quite enough to examine it just yet. Still, the man seems familiar...]
no subject
No, that can't be right. He'd remember someone like her. Still, he doesn't let go immediately.]
Are you all right?
no subject
[She sounds distressed, but even a brief glance would show that there is absolutely nothing wrong with her body. She's in quite good health, even her bare feet are hardly scuffed, but an immortal Unicorn being shoved into a mortal human body is not as things should be and the lady Zelos can feel her flesh prison slowly dying all around her.]
no subject
I don't understand. You're still alive and you don't look sick. Why would you be worried that your body is decaying?
[He's going to try to lead her over to a bench now. Whatever she says, he's pretty sure she should sit down.]
no subject
[Something, some spark of memory causes her to blink and look up into Lloyd's face.] I wished for this! After we parted in the meadow, in my folly I sought out a fairy...
[She raises her hand to her forehead again. Everything is so jumbled. If only someone would guide her, someone she could trust... Perhaps this knight?]
no subject
Slowly, the thoughts fit together, starting to make an anxious sense. She said she was Zelos, she said she was a unicorn, she said there was magic involved.]
...Zelos?
[He hardly dares believe it. Zelos was... Zelos wasn't. He can't remember, but something about all this feels wrong. This isn't how things are supposed to be.]
How do we fix this? Where did you meet the fairy?
no subject
[She writhes a bit, as if the human body itself is causing her pain, and looks to completely helpless in that moment. She clings to Lloyd's arms, resting her head uselessly against his shoulder.]
Please, Sir Knight, help me..
no subject
[Whatever else might be wrong with his memories, Lloyd knows one thing with every fiber of his being. He has to help. He wants to protect this woman, even if he's not quite certain what he's protecting her from. She's in pain, though, and that's all that matters.]
But I'll help you, I swear it. We'll find the fairy, or someone who can heal you.
[He wraps his other arm around her, offering support and comfort as he can.]
Do you think you can walk?
no subject
[She leans on him as she rises to her feet again, hand clutching his arm as if holding a lifeline. There's something that tells her she can trust him, that he is more than just any human, but he is connect to her, bonded, somehow...
Her alabaster skin flushes rose pink as she looks up at him.]
You'll help me?
no subject
Yeah. [He smiles.] I promise.
[Careful to keep his first steps slow, until he can match her pace, he starts to head down the street.]
Come on, I think the castle is this way. We'll try there first.
