2nd Combo - A Fairy Tale Knight
Characters: Lloyd Irving and every eligible-- everyone
Location: All over the place
Time: From dawn until dusk
Style: You pick and I'll match
Status: Open
[It's been two days since he started coming to his senses, the false memories of that other life already fading back into the ether of whatever spell had created them. As they disappear, though, he remembers. The ball, the one he'd danced with, that moment of timeless magic when their eyes had met and their hearts had known.
The tolling of the bell as midnight approached.
His partner had fled, he didn't know why - but they'd left their shoe behind. The shoe he now holds clutched in his hands. It must have been crafted with magic, he knows, because there is no other way to explain how the delicate glass could support a person's weight without breaking. Surely this shoe was made to fit one foot and one foot alone. It's the only clue he has to the identity of his love. He doesn't even know his love's name or gender. He only knows that they hold his heart.
And that he's going to find them, even if he has to try this shoe on every person in the land.
Speaking of which...
He approaches the next person he sees, giving them a bow fit for the knight he is.]
Excuse me, yes, you. Your pardon, but can I have a moment of your time?
[ooc: Only a "Cinderella" will fit the shoe. Let me know if this is the case. o/]

His eyes widen and his head snaps up. No, he has to wait for her to confirm. He can't tell with just his eyes. It might only look like it fits. Swallowing hard, he meets her eyes.]
How... how does it feel?
no subject
[She stares intently as the shoe is slipped onto her foot. She isn't used to this type of treatment, really; Yukari's used to doing everything for herself, and her memories as Cinderella mixed exacerbate that even more so. So it feels odd, to have such a menial task done for her...something as simple as putting on a shoe.
But these thoughts dissolve slowly when she sees his eyes light up.
She wiggles her feet, placing it firmly on the ground...]
It feels...
[...She pauses, trying to find the right words to describe such a sensation; and struggles to slow her breaths, which are getting increasingly more rapid.]
...L-Like my own.
no subject
Then... it was you. I finally found you! I'd thought- I'd worried-
[He blinks rapidly and stands up, reaching for Yukari's hands. The smile that breaks across his face is filled with so much love that anything else he'd been feeling before disappears without a trace.]
I'll never let you go again, I swear. Please, tell me your name.
no subject
Though she's not sure what she's most surprised by: the fact that she allows this at all, or the fact that it feels right. The fact that she doesn't want him to let go, this...this complete stranger. And the fact that it feels like she's been searching for him for a long time as well...]
It's...Yu...Yukari.
[Cinderella. She has to fight the urge to say it. Cinderella. Why would she think of that, though?
That's never been her name. And it's never even crossed her mind, until all this started happening. But "Yukari" is starting to feel so distant, and it's getting a bit harder every time to convince herself to say it.
And what about you?
no subject
[Not as pretty as she is, though. He brings one of her hands to his lips, pressing them lightly against her skin.]
I'm Lloyd. Lloyd Irving, a Knight of the realm in this land.
[He wasn't having any trouble remembering his own name, but every once in a while, when he thought of his role, something felt... off, in a way he couldn't pin down. He shrugs it off right now, though, as something that's not important. What's important is that he has Yukari back.]
Yukai, I know we didn't meet all that long ago, but I would be honored if you would allow me to pursue your hand in marriage.
[1/3] oh my gosh lloyd wat r u doing kdlsjas /dead
Becoming just like her mother of all people?]
[2/3]
Unfortunately, the compliment on her name is kind of lost upon her, but she does take note of his; and it's unlikely she'll ever forget it, considering the question that follows.]
[3/3] okay done i think
She hardly knows what to think. It's not something she'd been planning to consider for a long time, and she's not sure what's more annoying: the fact that she's a situation where she has to choose, or the fact that there is a part of her nagging to say yes.
That this is her prince, and there won't be a better chance than this one.]
I...
But, Lloyd...we've only just met. Th-That couldn't possibly be what you want...
[Could it?
Could it be what she wants? That's not possible either; why is she answering this with anything other than a slap to the face or a stomp to the foot...?]
Following his heart recklessly, like usual /o/
He doesn't hesitate to smile, his mind and spirit embracing his role in this play.]
I know, but being with you feels right, like this- [He squeezes her hands.] -is what I've been waiting for my whole life. If I don't know you yet, I want the chance to fix that. I want to court you, Yukari. That's what I want, and all I want for now.
Silly boy. <3
Feels right. Yes...well. In a way it feels right to her, too. Or at least she feels like it's supposed to be this way...as if trying to predict the happy ending to a storybook.
But a part of her still resists. She'd been waiting for her prince, but...she doesn't understand why she has no recollection of him, or the ball. This isn't how she imagined things would go.]
I...I'm sorry, I-- [She swallows, feeling him squeeze her hand, and gives a meek squeeze back.] --I really don't know yet.
[This is a big decision...isn't it? She can't make a mistake here. Her stepmother, her stepsisters...they have enough to pick on her about as it is.
But she does quickly go on, not wanting him to lose hope too quickly.]
...But I do think that...there must be a reason that my shoe brought us together. A chance to know each other, be it in courtship or not...that may be a chance we just have to take.
no subject
But there is still that hope, a hope he holds close. He doesn't want to let her go. He can understand why someone wouldn't want to rush into something like this, but he just feels so sure.]
Then... we could see each other. We don't have to call it anything, we could just see each other and maybe...
[Maybe she'd change her mind?]
no subject
[She nods, repeating the word, although she makes no effort to continue with the thought. Anything can happen, after all; and she is suddenly smiling. She doesn't like the way his has faded, so she smiles again to try to set an example, hoping to maybe see it once more...
Maybe indeed.]
I want to see you again, so... thank you, Lloyd. For finding me.
no subject
You're welcome. I'm glad I found you, too. I look forward to seeing you again, Yukari.
[He straightens up and lets her hand go.]
Take care.
no subject
[A prince like him must be accustomed to pampering and the like; everything being done for him, never having to lift a finger.
Maybe she could be a part of that someday, since she feels oddly empty, walking away from him. But for now...
Well, he'd better not do anything stupid.
She grins, burning his name into her mind as she walks leisurely on home.]
