July mingle log
[The mingle party this month is taking place in the field on the North end of the park. There are balloons, streamers, flags and signs all showing the way to the gathering. There is a table set up with fresh fruit, cookies, cupcakes, sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers. Another table consists of various beverages and pretty blue jars to use as drinking glasses.
In the middle of the field one can find a large ball pit with inflatable sharks inside. There are also a couple of bounce houses and buckets full of water balloons. Towels and reclining lawn chairs were close by for anyone who needed to dry off or sunbathe.
Last but not least, there is a large tent full of pillows of all shapes and sizes. There is a movie projector set up to use a tent wall as a movie screen. Bring your own movies or choose from the great classics like The Count of Monte Fishto and The Seven Samuray. Outside of the tent was a photo booth set up with a box of silly props. A whole bunch of silly props.]

[Yeah, that guy sitting to the side, writing things down in a notebook with one hand and having a chocolate dipped banana in his other hand. He's not exactly... sociable, as should be obvious to anyone who knows him, but being in the middle of a crowd helps keep you hidden sometimes. Vatheon, he's already figured out, is full of noticeable people who will take the attention off of you.]
[Every now and then, he seems to shiver violently and try to shrug as if adjusting his coat. Yes, he's aware this is a curse. Yes, he's aware what he needs to do to feel better. No, he's not going through with it.]

to scare away everyone elseanyway. Specifically, he's hanging around the watermelon. He seems to have gotten some paint from somewhere, and it looks like he's actually drawing a face onto the outside of the melon. At least he's being careful not to get the paint into the parts people can actually eat!]open
shiveringsitting nearby, a single hot dog and a little fruit on his plate along with a mug of water at his side. He's ripped the hot dog in half horizontally, and appears to be turning part of it into a little art project with his pocket knife. They serve them to kids in such a fashion back home, and he's surprised the natives haven't thought to do similar, living underwater.(no subject)

First, he was cold. He was a god, and he didn't get cold like this. Not since he was mortal... and that was a loooong time ago. He'd seen grumblings across the little communication devices, but he didn't see the solution. In a large group of people, perhaps he would uncover the answer without having to actually ask anyone.
Second... Strawberries. He's fond of the things, and in the absence of grapes, they were his favourite. This place didn't have nearly the quality that he'd been growing back home. It's one of his specialties. Maybe he'd be willing to help with that....]
[In conclusion, here you have Mr. D, dressed in purple sweats and with a leopard-print scarf around his neck (trying not to look like he's freezing to death). He's standing near the table and giving the strawberries a critical examination.

It's the sight of the ball pit which catches her attention first and she trots on over to peer into it.
Perhaps she's leaned in a little too closely because suddenly there's a squeal and Rarity goes tumbling in, later popping her head out and flailing like a drowning cat.]
Oh, goodness!
[... But then she sees an inflatable shark beside her and screams.]

The white tent

There's already a movie playing, though she's not sure it's something she would've chosen. Two men seem to be dueling with... swordfish.]

Honestly he hadn't really wanted to come out tonight at all. The curse already had him feeling irritable. He doesn't like being forced into anything, even something as innocuous as physical contact, and it just drives home the sense of helplessness in their being here. But Jet had been talking about it and even in his irritation, Albert felt he was still on rocky ground with his teammate despite assurances that bygones were bygones. Even if the fight had been months ago for Jet, it's still fresh for Albert. So he'd relented.
He just really hadn't expected... this. There are't even any proper chairs. He feels ridiculous reclining against all these pillows like some sort of self-styled sultan, not to mention if the curse acted up again he'd be forced into cuddling again in public.
Really, guilty or not, he should have stayed in the hotel room.

The big white tent had caught his eye earlier so he decided to check it out now that he was full. He peered in, noticing all the piles of pillows and some sort of fishy samurai movie. He decides that he may as well go watch it, at least until it gets boring. So he finds a cozy spot where he's least likely to bother others if he gets too antsy.]

So, when she'd heard of this strange party, she'd gone for curiosity's sake. But mainly as a way to battle the cold that was slowly seeping into her bones. It was the white tent that caught her attention, however. Inside, she sees that there are moving pictures of men fighting with some sort of fish and she can't help but wonder why.]
Is there a point to this? [She doesn't speak very loud. It's just a curious musing.]

Re: The white tent
Hell no.
Grimmjow wasn't the type to seek physical contact like that, so he was going to stay right here in his cozy little pile with his attention focused on The Seven Samuray. Certain aspects of it reminded him of his home world, and other aspects made his hand inch closer to the sword sitting at his hip. It had been awhile since he's had a good fight (excluding the one in the bar a month ago), but...
Nah. He couldn't really be bothered today.]

General Mingling for anything else
no subject
But since she's cold and not hungry, she's just wandering around aimlessly. Maybe if she was warm, she'd try the bounce houses or the photo booth, but she doesn't want to stop moving. Moving helps you warm up, right? She's not quite sure if she wants to try watching a movie either, with all those pillows and things. That'd at least give some warmth, from the tent and the pillows.

Marceline's Show > Mingle Thread!
[Seems pretty metal.]
[1. Who's In Charge Here
2. Get Back
3. The Four Horsemen
4. War Pigs
5. You've Got Another Thing Comin'
6. Raining Blood
7. Hallowed Be Thy Name]
[Feel free to dance, rock out, just listen while chowing down on some food, or even approach the vampire as she relaxes in-between songs, looking quite happy.]

[After Raining Blood though, he decides he has to meet this chick who's wailing away with that pretty brutal Bass. He collects his guitar first though. Couldn't mosh it up with that thing slung around his neck, now could he? Properly equipped he approaches the side stage to meet with the performer. ]
Hey floaty girl. You plays a bass that's actually worth listening to!
[Trust me, that's actually an insane amount of praise coming from him.]
So uh, what song have you got next planned?
