Leo loved a good prank. He hated the last curse, but this one? Was a whole other bag of tricks. Or more accurately a bag of tricky hats. When the mark had glowed last night he hoped he wouldn't be affected by whatever wicked scheme the scientists could come up with to make his (and everyone else's) life hell.

He wasn't expecting this. But oh, was he loving it. The first hat he found was a thinking cap. He was already a pretty good thinker, but the idea of a thinking cap sounded promising, so he put it on and immediately began coming up with the best ideas! (Or what he thought were the best ideas.) He wrote them all down on a pad of paper as they came to him. But one idea stood out from the rest!

See, he had just come across the table in the plaza and it was piled with hats! All sorts of hats! It would be a lot of fun to try them all on. He went to remove the thinking cap to try on a space helmet. He quickly realized that he could not remove it. But, maybe he could put it on someone else. And how awesome of a prank would it be to go around putting these hats on other people? He picked out an array of interesting hats and began putting them into his tool belt.

A supply of hats was necessary to pick from to prank anyone he came across. And surely people would do everything they could to avoid the plaza once they caught wind of the curse, so he needed that supply to be mobile and stealthy.

[ooc: Let me know in an ooc note whether or not you want him to be able to get a hat(s) onto your character. I'm up for both successful and failed pranks as well as your character pranking Leo in return!]

"Rockin' name." Leo smirked at the floppy handshake. This curse really was a lot of fun. In fact, he was getting bored of his current hat.

"Got an idea. You can pick out any hat you want aside from that first one I put on you and put it on me. That sound fair?" And just to be sure that the Ed Hardy hat can be put on his head, he shoves it into his tool belt.

"Can't we just take them off so we're like how we're s'posed to be?"

Normally Roxas did puppy eyes unintentionally well, but this pout was somehow more, well, fishy.

"Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. I've tried."

He's not falling for that pout.

"Shore it can. You'll take mine off and I'll take yours off."

[fundemetal]

"But this is a lot of fun. Finny fun for everyone even."

[coolerthansora]

"If it were really finny fun, we'd at least be in the water." Roxas glanced upwards wistfully. There was an awful lot of air here for being undersea.

"Well, I can't get in the water with this hat. It's electrical." Whether or not it actually is doesn't matter. Leo's convinced that it's sending electrical pulses to his brain spurring on his thoughts.

That was an easy thing to fix. Roxas reached over to take the hat off Leo's head.

"There. Now you can go in the water no problem."

That was easy. Leo smirked.

"Thanks dude. Guess we could head up to the island if you want."

He looked around and spotted a beach hat and put it on. Just perfect.

"Okay." That was one idea he seemed very amenable to at the moment. "Oh, but- I guess we need to take the elevator."

"You got a problem with the elevator?" Leo scratched his head. "Whatever it is, you just need to chill and get over it, dude. Let's go soak up some rays."

"It's just slow," Roxas said without further explanation before starting in that direction. The tail of the fish hat flopped as he walked.

Leo gave Roxas an odd look before grabbing his arm and heading toward the elevator. "Well, we're not getting here any faster standing around."

"H-hey, you don't have to drag me."

He tugged his arm loose. He could walk on his own, thanks.

When Roxas tugged, Leo released his grip without any fuss. He'd only been trying to get the guy to start moving.

"Sorry, brah."

He continued leading the way toward the elevator. He just couldn't wait to be up on the beach.

"My name is Roxas," he corrected, a little confusedly, as he matched Leo's quick pace. He was eager to be in the water himself, he was sure to feel more at ease there.

"Yeah, I know, dude. You told me that already."

They reached the elevator, but it was up at the island, so they had to wait for it to make its way back down.

"I don't really like to be called other stuff." Not that that prevented people from doing it anyway. He bounced on his feet a little as they waited for the elevator. See? Slow.

[fundemetal]

"Why not?" Leo asked. The elevator dinged and the doors slid open, revealing the station master. He stepped into the elevator and waited for the ride up to start.

Roxas stepped in after him with a friendly nod to the station master.

"'cause I'm Roxas, and that's important to me."

[fundemetal]

"Okay, du- Roxas." It was hard for Leo not to default to using generic terms like that, especially with this hat on.

[coolerthansora]

"Thanks." Roxas smiled a little, but then the elevator reached the top and the doors open, and it turned into a real smile.

"We're here!" Yep, he sure was bolting for the ocean.

Leo laughed and followed Roxas at a more leisurely pace. He had all day to enjoy his time at the beach. No need to rush. Just chillin.

It wasn't about the beach for Roxas. As soon as he reached the water's edge, he was trying to wade in and tug off his shoes at the same time. His shirt came off next, carelessly tossed onto the sand, and then he was diving into the waves with a whoop of delight.

By time Leo made it down to the water, Roxas was already swimming in it. Leo stripped down to his orange camp half-blood t-shirt and his boxers. Thank god he'd decided to go with those today and he waded out into the water at a leisurely pace.
