Leo loved a good prank. He hated the last curse, but this one? Was a whole other bag of tricks. Or more accurately a bag of tricky hats. When the mark had glowed last night he hoped he wouldn't be affected by whatever wicked scheme the scientists could come up with to make his (and everyone else's) life hell.

He wasn't expecting this. But oh, was he loving it. The first hat he found was a thinking cap. He was already a pretty good thinker, but the idea of a thinking cap sounded promising, so he put it on and immediately began coming up with the best ideas! (Or what he thought were the best ideas.) He wrote them all down on a pad of paper as they came to him. But one idea stood out from the rest!

See, he had just come across the table in the plaza and it was piled with hats! All sorts of hats! It would be a lot of fun to try them all on. He went to remove the thinking cap to try on a space helmet. He quickly realized that he could not remove it. But, maybe he could put it on someone else. And how awesome of a prank would it be to go around putting these hats on other people? He picked out an array of interesting hats and began putting them into his tool belt.

A supply of hats was necessary to pick from to prank anyone he came across. And surely people would do everything they could to avoid the plaza once they caught wind of the curse, so he needed that supply to be mobile and stealthy.

[ooc: Let me know in an ooc note whether or not you want him to be able to get a hat(s) onto your character. I'm up for both successful and failed pranks as well as your character pranking Leo in return!]

Roxas stepped in after him with a friendly nod to the station master.

"'cause I'm Roxas, and that's important to me."

"Okay, du- Roxas." It was hard for Leo not to default to using generic terms like that, especially with this hat on.

"Thanks." Roxas smiled a little, but then the elevator reached the top and the doors open, and it turned into a real smile.

"We're here!" Yep, he sure was bolting for the ocean.

Leo laughed and followed Roxas at a more leisurely pace. He had all day to enjoy his time at the beach. No need to rush. Just chillin.

It wasn't about the beach for Roxas. As soon as he reached the water's edge, he was trying to wade in and tug off his shoes at the same time. His shirt came off next, carelessly tossed onto the sand, and then he was diving into the waves with a whoop of delight.

By time Leo made it down to the water, Roxas was already swimming in it. Leo stripped down to his orange camp half-blood t-shirt and his boxers. Thank god he'd decided to go with those today and he waded out into the water at a leisurely pace.

Roxas spun around as Leo arrived, waving at him from deeper in the water. The fish hat still bobbed on his head.

"Hey, Leo!"

Leo waved back before swimming out to where Roxas was. "'Sup?" he asked before rolling over into a back float.

The excitement was ebbing into a sort of contentment at being in the ocean, and Roxas just tread water for a moment as he watched Leo float past.

"Y'know, it's kinda weird you came up here with me."

"How's that weird?" Leo looks puzzled.

"'cause we just met. We're not friends yet." And going to the beach was something you generally did with friends. Like eating ice cream.

"It's the beach. I don't get how that really requires being friends first. I met some new people at the beach the other day when Gamzee threw his party." Leo shrugged, which looked kind of funny and threw him a little off balance as he floated on his back.

"But we came here together. That's different, isn't it?" Roxas flopped onto his back, the tail of the fish hat lazily waving back and forth in the water.

"Nah. Not when it's all spontaneous like this." Leo's beach bum hat was soaking wet and were it not for the curse, it probably would have fallen off ages ago.

"I don't really do things- spontaneous." He thought that was true, assuming he had the meaning right. He wasn't really a spontaneous kind of person, unless starting pillow fights counted.

"You should try it more often. Good way to have fun." Leo thrived on spontaneity. He was always making plans on the fly, or doing whatever felt right a the moment. Sometimes it got him into trouble, but it's also helped him get out of it.

"But how do you think of stuff to do?" That had always been a problem for Roxas, having been raised--in a sense--without much concept of free time.

"I don't know. I do what I do and ideas just pop into my head. If I like the idea, I do it." How else could he explain it. It's not really something he'd given much thought to. Being a demigod meant he was always thinking on his feet in dangerous situations. And being that his father was Hephaestus, Leo was always inventing and creating things with his hands.

Oh. Well, that didn't help much.

"I guess I'm just not that good with ideas."

"Well, what sorts of things to you like to do?"

"Get ice cream, and watch the sunset with Axel... skateboarding, sparring... Swimming's really nice." He did enjoy it outside of having a fish hat, but it wasn't something he did often.

"You watch the sunset with my fire bro?" The rest of that hardly matters. Why is it he's just meeting Roxas if he's so close to Axel?

"You mean Axel?" Not that Roxas mentioned anyone else... "Yeah. He's my best friend."

"That's cool. Didn't know you existed though. Guess we haven't really talked about our friends much when we hang out."

"I- I exist," Roxas sputtered, before realizing that it was probably just an unfortunate word choice on Leo's part.

"I mean... Axel doesn't usually talk about himself much. He hasn't mentioned you either."
