Monthly Mingle Log + Marks

Though things are certainly a bit busy, Station Master has decided to go ahead with the welcoming party for the new arrivals. Partially because he had decided to take this task upon himself and he certainly wasn't going to slack, and partially because making things appear as normal was as good a cover as they had right now.

However with how much has been going on, this party is not quite as extravagant as previous ones have been. The location is near to the elevator, on the beach. A large banner hung between two trees proclaims a cheerful 'Welcome to Vatheon'. The long food tables that normally take up most of the space are missing. There simply hadn't been the capability of whipping up the sort of food they normally served. What is there however is a lot of fruit. Fresh apples and pears. Bananas. A few bowls of strawberries and pièce de résistance several large and perfectly ripe water melons. One or two have already been split, the water melons pieces set out on small plates on one big table ready for any to take. Drinks are available too. Fresh water and fruit juices. The weather might not be entirely the best for this kinda thing (though occasionally the sun seems to peek out from between the clouds!) but at least it isn't raining.

But that is not all.

In the cover of the storage building turned bubble reparation headquarters sits C. She has been contacting the people who signed up for catching the fish, asking them to start bringing them to her today so she can start working on the marks. Similarly the people who have signed up for early mark change have been invited too to drop by today or in the next few days so the first step in making sure the coral is returned to proper working conditions can be taken.



[ooc: This month the monthly mingling log is combined with the log for the fish catching + early mark changing. Also, if your character is new but you want them to learn what is going on, please leave a small ooc note on your comment and we'll send a NPC your way. The mingling log part of this post is only on the first, in the afternoon. The fish catching and mark changing parts will serve as a collective point for threads of this nature for this whole week.]

Alright.

[Naoto goes over to the crate beside C, sitting down on it. She adjusts herself again so that the mark is easy to get to for her, even unbuttoning her top a little to get to easier. She wonders how it will affect her.]

Is it okay to get to?

[thalassino]

This is fine.

[She places her hands on either side of the mark, activating it. Naoto would feel an odd crawling sensation underneath her skin, almost like something was trying to go through her veins backward.]

[detectiveprincess]

[Naoto makes a soft noise as she starts to feel the sensation. She grips at her pants leg gently, closing her eyes some. She's doing her best to keep from reaching up and scratching it or swatting at it. She doesn't feel ill or dizzy just yet, but she supposes give it time and it'll hit.]

That's... That feels strange to be sure...

[That tends to be the part that makes most people feel nauseous. Now that she's activated it, C reaches for a sterile needle, pricking her lightly where the mark needs to be altered. The feeling doesn't subside yet - of course, she's not done yet, either.]

[detectiveprincess]

[Naoto slowly starts feeling light-headed as she continues, trying to keep it together. Her stomach does start to churn slightly. She takes slow deep breaths, trying to focus much like she did before she was shoved into the TV world.]

[Using the pinpricks as a guide, C alters the mark. Once that's complete she changes Naoto's energy flow again, this time synchronizing it with the coral. Other than a burning desire to suddenly go touch the coral, she would feel fine.]

How's that? Not too terrible, right?

[detectiveprincess]

[As the process ends, Naoto seems to release a breath she didn't know she was holding. She seems to relax some, but she still feels a little light-headed and slightly ill. She slowly shakes her head.]

No... Not terrible. I... feel a little off... but as you said, it's been normal.

I feel like wanting to touch the coral... which since the start of the chaos wasn't there as much if at all...

You probably should. The coral needs you guys to stabilize it, after all. If you wear one of those tunics and hold something heavy you should be able to sink down to its level long enough to put your hand on it.

[detectiveprincess]

[Naoto gives a small smile before giving a small nod.]

I haven't been given one yet, so I should go and grab one.

[thalassino]

Really? I could have sworn we handed them out to everyone...

[She even vaguely remembers the Station Master having her do it!]

Ah well, there's still quite a few of them. I'm sure you can get your hands on one.

[detectiveprincess]

Ah... well I must have misplaced it in the chaos. I'll look again for it before I go asking for a new one.

[thalassino]

[C waves to her, turning back to her work.]
