Grubtime 3: Repercussions.

When: Backdated to just after Curse 39 ends.
Where: Dualscar's hive.

Status: Closed.

[The curse ends, and that means a restoration to the original form everyone had. Clothing was not part of the transformation process. Unfortunately, that meant that the two grubs sitting in a pile were now back to what they used to be... unclothed.]

As do I, It is too bad you did not take any photos to blackmail me with, Kit. They would have been adorable.

[She playfully boops her daughter on the nose, and then wholeheartedly returns her hug. It certainly had been a strange week.]

[She disappears a moment, then comes back with an envelope full of photographs.

She takes them out, and the first one is tiny Sollux sparking electricity everywhere as Digrub sits on his back and attempts to chew on his hair.

This is promising.]

He stares in horror at the sheer number of pictures, then groans]

[Disciple examines the first photo. It was a little strange seeing herself so young.]

So... just how many pictures did you take of us, then, Nepeta?

[The elder oliveblood laughs, but there is a mischievous glint in her eyes. The pictures did not really bother her all that much, but she was this with Sollux, now.]

If those pictures start getting shown around too much, Kit, this might become a war. I will give you fair warning, I will fight dirty; I tickle.

No! [She clutches them all to her chest.] I won't show them around, I purromise! But I want to keep them, it was such a nice week and we all had fun together, and Signless was smiling so much, almost as much as he used to before!

[She gives them the most woebegone face ever, even Disciple's teasing not enough to get her to crack a smile.]

[Wow! Disciple's teasing mood crumpled as she was ambushed by two of her greatest cares; A distraught daughter, and a smiling Signless. Nepeta's sorrowful look was a dagger that stabbed directly into her heart. Nepeta has slain the tickle monster: She gains 130 XP and 12 Gold. She sure was a sucker for her little hunter.]

I am sorry, Kit. I did not know. Keep the photos, please.

Was Signless really that happy? I... I wish I could remember. I wish it was not such a blur.

[She reaches out to pet her ancestor's arm, not having meant to ruin her mood that way.]

He was! Oh, oh, I forgot, I took pictures of him too to show you! [She starts flipping through them until she finds the one she wants, handing it over.]

[It's a photograph of Signless with his face nearly lit up with delight and laughter, a tiny, happily flailing Digrub held up high in his hands and Sollux sitting on his head sparking self-importantly at having climbed his way up to the top of the Signless-mountain. (spoilers: he cheated and floated part of the way)]

[He rolls his eyes a little at the way Disciple suddenly got really serious. It's nice to hear that Signless was happy, but it's nothing to get really freaked out over.

Oh, but now there's another picture, and he can't help but smile a bit at the sight of himself sparking so self-importantly, though he covers it up and looks away]

I guess my utter humiliation is worthwhile if it made a few people happy.
