N-no... no, I'm scared...!
Who: A very young Guy Cecil and a bunch of scary strangers.
Where: Yutopil Apartments and the alleys near the plaza
When: Monday morning - afternoon
Style: I prefer [Action], but I'll match.
Status: Open
[It was such a blur. He remembered it being dark and loud. There was shouting. They were running, his arm being pulled just a little harder as a window shattered in one of the front rooms. A scream echoed from another part of the hall, and he felt the urge to do the same, quickly biting his lip in fear. The shuffle of feet. The slamming of a door. There were soldiers. So many soldiers.
He was frightened.
Mary had said something to him. That he needed to hide. That he needed to live. Why? Why was this happening? This was supposed to be a happy day, right? Why were the soldiers here to hurt them? Why did his sister have to look so sad?
Mary... M-Mary, come back... I-I'm scared...!
He'd ducked away, knees to his chest and lip quivering, still trying to keep his older sister in his sights. And then, as if he'd fallen down a hole in the back of his hiding place... he was somewhere new. Mary was gone. And he didn't like it one bit.]
[Residents of the lower floor of Yutopil might here a thumping crash from Apartment 1-5 early Monday morning, followed by a loud wail. That's because one little blonde boy has literally fallen out of his bed and hit the ground a bit too hard. Nothing to truly hurt him in the end, but... well, he is a bit of a coward, and the impact is enough to startle him to tears. What is this place?! Where is he? And now his head hurts and oh no, oh please, what is he going to do????
He will eventually wander from his strange quarters, although the outside world isn't very inviting. Every face is strange and hostile, and with what he's just seen and heard he can't help but flinch away. So don't be surprised if you come walking through the plaza and hear the sniffling sobs of a young child, not even a day past five, huddled in the alleyway behind a building, head buried against his knees or hands wringing at clothes of the finest quality (dusted with the clouded markings of soot). He may look like an animal caught frightened in a bright light. But for as much of a man as Mary wants him to be, a stranger is still a stranger, and strangers are still frightening.]

[Zelda turns off the feed and tucks the SFC away, wrapping both arms around Guy now. She's sure he would rather walk, but she can walk faster than he can. Besides, he looks terribly tired. Hopefully he would feel better once she starts for Peony's apartment with a brisk pace. It won't take her all that long.]
Do you have an important message for the Emperor, Gai...lardia?
no subject
Y-yes... yes, ma'am. I need him to listen and c-come right away...
[Somehow. He wasn't sure how. But the Emperor was the Emperor for a reason, right? He could figure it out.]

[Jogging a bit, hoping Guy forgets that particular sensation when he ages up again... she can sympathize with him far too much to not hurry, though. Her own anxiety levels had been absolutely through the roof when she'd been in a similar situation. Hopefully the expedience will soothe his nerves a bit. Before long, she's knocking at Peony's door.]
no subject
Opening the door, he greets both with a bright grin.]
Heeey, so this is the little nobleman, huh?
no subject
Sorry... Yes... yes'sir, mister, ah--
[Oh, whoops, manners, that's right. He bows a bit as an afterthought before continuing to speak.]
Mister Peony, sir... do you really know the Emperor, Mister Peony? I-I-I need to g-go home, and I need to go see His Majesty r-right away s-so he can come with.
no subject
Do you think that you two have it from here?
[This is a bit awkward for her for various reasons. Hopefully he won't make her say why, but if at all possible she'd like to leave Guy here for the week. She will be calling back to ask about this Emperor business, though.]
no subject
Sure do.
[He glances up from Gailardia to Zelda, flashing her a grin.]
Yeah, I got it. Thanks for bringing 'im.
[And back to the little blond:]
Let's go inside, birthday boy. Get you somewhere to sit before we start talking, huh?

[He didn't want to talk to Mister Peony, he wanted to talk to the Emperor...! His hands wring at his tunic as he peeks past the man into the apartment. No one else there, and it suddenly looks strange and scary. His eyes dart back to the tall man, then over to the kind girl with the strange ears, so similar to his sister...
He's lost and he doesn't know what to do and the overwhelming feeling is already bubbling back up. Blue eyes dart to the ground with a whimper, saying something unintelligible before the little boy starts to cry.]

It will be all right. Peony is very kind, and he's from Malkuth too. You are allies, it's safe.
no subject
It'll be alright.
[First weird truth? First weird truth.]
Nothing's gonna happen to anyone while you're here, promise. Vatheon doesn't allow it.
[He glances up at Zelda while moving to carefully shift Gailardia into his arms so the princess can escape (both her maternal instincts and the situation).]

T-t-they're in trouble, they.... t-t-t-they need help, His Majesty needs t-to help now! H-H-He needs to bring h-his army b-b-back, he... he n-n-needs to help us! Th...there's soldiers, there's l-lots and lots of soldiers, and they were b-b-breaking the w-windows and yelling a-a-and e-e-everyone's s-scared and... and I... I-I-I...
[He grips tightly into Peony's shirt, burying his face into the man's shoulder and muffling his voice.] I-I d-d-don't know w-w-where they are a-and I-I-I... I d-don't want them t-to d-d-die, M-Mi...M-M-Mister P-P-P......

She forces herself to stand.]
I am a healer, Gailardia. I will go search for your family. For right now, though, you need to stay with Peony, all right? Stay strong.
[Knowing that she won't be able to leave if she stays any longer, Zelda offers them both a wan smile and turns to go.]
no subject
Peony returns that smile, little effort in trying to hold it, past the child's shoulder to Zelda as she turns, and draws Gailardia close enough to carefully scoop him up off the ground; a hand curves over the back of Gailardia's head, other arm keeping him securely against Peony's waist and torso, trying to offer some sort of security. There's really nothing he can do at this point but let him cry. Seeing him upset over this as an adult was one thing, but then at least he'd had time to digest it. This... a child doesn't understand that, and can't hope to begin to try. Of all the things his father had ever chosen to do...
Damn the Score.
Bringing Gailardia inside the apartment, Peony gingerly closes the door behind himself, moving to one of living room chairs to half-drape, half-sit in. He keeps Gailardia close, effectively serving to cradle him between his lap, the back of the chair, and his chest, though if ever the boy wants to move, he's ready to oblige. With an experience like that, Gailardia might not want to have someone quite so close to him. Until that point, Peony murmurs gently--no words, just sounds. Low, formless sounds meant to soothe and nothing more.]
no subject
When the Emperor plops them both into the chair, it leaves the little boy in an odd position. He retreats slightly with a hiccup, eyes clouded up with tears enough that he's basically groping for a few seconds with his hands. Okay here is a chair... and here is a man...
The man's warm, and the sounds are strange. But the little boy still climbs up on his stomach to curl up against Peony's chest with a shudder.]
no subject
To make someone relive this kind of horror does not sit well with the man, though he takes care not to let that feeling seep into what he's doing. That's the last thing Gailardia needs. So for now, Peony just tucks the anger away and holds off on getting up in arms over it.
He'll tell Gailardia that he's heir apparent thanks to family decisions (not far from the truth), maybe... Or something. He doesn't want Gailardia being more reserved because of his station. Maybe he'll just... say he's an aide or something. Gaaah, what to do... What to do that would work on a kid, anyway.]
