The door states the posted hours of this fashion boutique, the odd choice of opening one hour after sunset and closing one hour before sunrise... And yet the shop has been open quite a bit more often than that. Some days it hardly even closes. Kanaya has been throwing herself into her work lately, perhaps overdoing it a little. Just about any time someone comes in, she'll be in the back, slaving away on some new dress, or suit, or maybe even a hat. She still hasn't quite mastered the art of haberdashery, but that hasn't dissuaded her from trying.

Childish and fancy are not mutually exclusive. What I'm trying to refer to here is sex appeal. You would want to wear this dress for the allure, not to simply seem fashionable, though it would excel at that as well.

It is a special occasion type of dress, but perhaps I'm being a bit hyperbolic. You area adorable, Jade. This dress wouldn't do anything more than provide a certain type of context for that. It wouldn't be some visual aphrodisiac. It's not some dangerous tool. If while wearing it you appeared especially lovely, that you be because you are normally so, and this allows that to show through to maximum effect. Honestly though, I don't know how you've gone this long without finding it necessary to invent some more efficient replacement for the traditional stick with which to hold potential suitors at bay.

There might be something of value in waiting though. I don't feel like starting some new relationship right now as it is, let alone with the possibility of this place tearing apart with no warning.

[Does she? Honestly? She can't really contemplate a life that doesn't involve fighting for her and her friends' lives in their own universe. There was the matter of protecting the consorts and planets that she brought along with her on the ship as well, like she promised Echidna.

Given time to think about it, she doesn't think she has any room in her life for a relationship when she's so tied up and unable to give her attention to any love interest over her duties as a Hero of Space. Sort of like she encased herself in a glass box and can only watch, not participate.]

We'll see. We'll see what the new year brings.
