[It's been a long time since Serph's disappearance. Maybe it seemed like he wasn't going to be coming back to Vatheon.

But if you happen to be passing through the Plaza, there's someone appearing out of thin air and... falling into one of the fountains with a great splash. If you're curious enough to look at the water, it's gaining a reddish tinge.

...Yeah, that's blood mixing with the water.

But wait long enough, and there's a guy pulling himself out of the fountain, looking like a drowned rat. There's a break in his abdominal armour. But while there are some stubborn bits of blood at the break's edges, there's no wound in the flesh underneath; the skin is unmarked, like it had been healed perfectly.

Serph's back. And he's alive.

...And totally dripping water all over the Plaza again.]

[He hadn't forgotten Sola was in the store. Not at all...he'd just been distracted by Serph. Seeing the other man and knowing he was back and not gone from Johnny's life forever had sent a strong emotion through him and he'd done the first thing that came to mind. He just didn't think everything through.

He usually had a 50/50 shot on actually thinking something through. This time he messed up.

The vampire sighed and moved the bag so it wouldn't drip on him and used his free hand to rub at his neck where the leash had pulled. He'd have to go back and replace whatever had been damaged.]

[For the fight he just got stuck in and maybe the kiss too. A little bit.]

[When Johnny had been yanked away, Serph had taken an extra step back and unobtrusively wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He silently observes Sola yell at Johnny. Ah... that's Johnny's boyfriend, yes? Serph doesn't interfere, quietly watching and making note of what is being said.

When Sola storms off and leaves them behind, Serph shrugs off Johnny's apology with a shake of his head.]

It's fine.

[His gaze goes to where Sola had left, though. Serph knows Johnny is the physical kind, so he isn't terribly bothered by being kissed, though he hopes Johnny won't make a habit of it. Serph doesn't know Sola well enough to know whether Sola understands that or not. Either way, it's clear Sola expects Johnny to only keep it to him, but it doesn't sound like Johnny is consciously aware of this expectation.]

You two haven't talked about your expectations of each other, have you?

[He looked from Serph to where Sola had run off to and shook his head.]

No...we've never really talked about...well much of it at all.

[Which probably wasn't the best idea...but, on different levels, neither of them really knew what they were doing.

He knew that...traditionally speaking, he was expected to go after Sola and try to patch things up.

But...maybe it was better if he didn't.

He shook his head again and pushed the thoughts away for now, offering a small smile to Serph.]

Either way, I had meant for a better welcome back than that~

[Hah... Serph turns his attention back to Johnny.]

I hadn't expected a welcome at all.

[Because. You know. Dead. Also, look, Johnny, you're not getting off so easy. Serph's gaze goes back to where Sola had run off.]

Talk to him tonight.

[That should give Sola enough time to calm down some.]

It'll be better when you do.

[And he's definitely glad you're not dead. Anymore.]

Well...good thing you were wrong~

[As for that other thing...]

Yeah...I guess. Maybe.

[Unless he just...avoids everything and pretends it's all fine. That sounds good. He's good at that.]

[Serph hears that hesitation and turns his gaze back to Johnny.]

Don't falter.

[People who really want something, they go forward and don't look back. Jinana, Lupa, people he'd been proud to call comrade had been like that. Roland, too, when he had made his choice. And Heat...

Serph reaches out and puts a hand on Johnny's shoulder. A gesture of good faith.]

[He's not going to force Johnny, but he doesn't think it's a good idea for Johnny to avoid conversation, either.]
