[It's been a long time since Serph's disappearance. Maybe it seemed like he wasn't going to be coming back to Vatheon.

But if you happen to be passing through the Plaza, there's someone appearing out of thin air and... falling into one of the fountains with a great splash. If you're curious enough to look at the water, it's gaining a reddish tinge.

...Yeah, that's blood mixing with the water.

But wait long enough, and there's a guy pulling himself out of the fountain, looking like a drowned rat. There's a break in his abdominal armour. But while there are some stubborn bits of blood at the break's edges, there's no wound in the flesh underneath; the skin is unmarked, like it had been healed perfectly.

Serph's back. And he's alive.

...And totally dripping water all over the Plaza again.]

[Zelda being in the plaza is a fairly common occurrence. True, it's quite some time to the next arrival cycle, but she does like to keep the Welcome Center clean. There's also her daily monitoring of the coral. It's during the latter that she sees Serph. So much blood...]

Serph?!

[Of course she's helping to tug him out of the fountain. That's just how she operates, always getting into things.]

[Serph's head jerks at the sound of his name, his attention going to the blond woman, but aside from that, he doesn't respond further. It takes him a while to place the face -- he's still surprised he's alive -- but he remembers it, eventually; the memories of Vatheon are slow to return. Zelda. One of the first people he met in Vatheon.

He silently accepts the help, lethargy dogging his movements, but he makes it out of the fountain, showering the immediate area with water.]

I'm so glad you're all right... your people have been worried.

[It's a good thing that Serph is used to Zelda getting touchy, because she immediately has to check to make sure that injury is healed up.]

Let's get you cleaned up a bit, you must be exhausted. Are you dizzy at all? It looks as if you might have lost a lot of blood.

[Angelo seems to enjoying getting out these days more and more, since obviously staying inside to sleep was pretty boring. Of course he also happens to be passing by when Serph returns in the middle of the plaza. The templar sees the blood as well and sighs to himself, first Trunks now Serph. What was it with all these people coming back to the bubble with blood dripping from them? Nevertheless, he walks over towards Serph to make sure he's all right.]

[Well, at least Serph doesn't actually seem to be injured, despite the blood. Nevertheless, when he sees Angelo, Serph pauses for a moment and staaares. He can't quite place the face or the name... the gears in his head are spinning as the memories of Vatheon slowly trickle back to him.]

You don't seem to need any healing, Serph. Come on, give me your hand.

[Angelo holds out his hand for Serph even if the other is staring at him, he pretty much thinks he's having some kind of slight shock factor effect after returning to the bubble.]

[Rinoa missed Serph dearly, but after three weeks, she'd pretty much come to accept he was gone. Likely for good.

So she's not looking or expecting him when she hits the plaza that day. Her original intention was just to do a bit of food shopping. It's a bit cool out, she thinks as she strolls along the plaza.

Oh hey, there's a dripping wet person. Bit early for newcomers, but-

....]

Serph...?

[It couldn't be, could it?]

[At the sound of his name, Serph turns his head. And stares...

It takes him a moment to place the face with the name -- the disconnect between his memories of Vatheon and his memories of the Junkyard and "Nirvana" makes it more difficult to fit things together -- but once he does, he blinks a few times. He's surprised he's back here, to be honest.

...He gives Rinoa a nod in greeting]

[That moment of silence, of unrecognition, scares her. What if he was like Selphie and returned with no memories of this place? What if he couldn't remember her at all? How was she going to handle that?

Then he nods, and the recognition is there, and she squeals in excitement as she runs over to him.]

You're back, you're back!

[You're going to get a flying tackle hug, Serph. Brace yourself.]

[Johnny was just coming out of a store when he smelled the faint but familiar scent. It was dampened by the water, but it was there. His eyes snapped towards the figure in the plaza and a grin spread across his face.]

Serph!

[He'd begun to doubt. He'd refused to believe that Serph wouldn't be back; his entire family was here, he had to come back! But..Johnny had begun to doubt, now the vampire was just glad he hadn't had any reason to.

A few long strides, and he had his arms wrapped tightly around the shorter man. Good luck prying that off, Serph.]

[Serph's attention immediately goes to whoever had called his name and--

HHHHUUUURRRK!! Serph's died once, only to be crushed to death!? He doesn't quite respond with the same immediacy he usually would; he's amazed he's even alive. In fact, while Johnny is busy squeezing all the air from his lungs, Serph's trying to remember just who this guy is.]

[Okay, he's done squeezing your lungs out of your face. He pulls away and grins brightly at him, hands still on Serph's shoulders.]

I said you'd come back! Ah~ I'm glad you didn't dissap-

[Wait. That is definitely blood he smells. Now he's going to hold you at arms length and check you over.]

Why do you smell like blood?

[A part of Argilla had already accepted Serph's disappearance, despite how hard it may have been a second time. The past couple weeks or so had started off difficult; especially since she took it upon herself to announce it, when she'd first noticed. Not to mention Gale's sleep, and Heat's reaction not long after afterwards...

Tiir's disappearance.

With the recent masquerade, things had just started getting back to normal again. And now, here she is, innocently walking when she sees his figure crawling out of the fountain.]

[Maybe she thinks it a dream.

There's a moment where she can only stare from afar, but when she sees a tint of red in the water, as well as the hole in his armor, she hastily moves towards him. Because she has to.

She has to see, for herself, that--

That he's all right...]

Serph... Serph, you're back!

[bufudine]

[...Huh...

Argilla, didn't he just see you before he... well... died?

There's definitely a look of bewilderment in his eyes when he sees Argilla. Confusion, as he tries to make sense of the slow trickle of Vatheon memories and integrate them with the memories of his time in the Junkyard and "Nirvana".

Wow this is awkward. He sure didn't expect to see Argilla so soon after allowing Heat to kill him.]

[ You should get that checked, Serph. But luckily, there's a doctor who happens to be crossing the plaza. He rushes over upon seeing that splash though and finds blood seeping into the water. ]

...Serph?

[ His trenchcoat is stripped off and his sleeves rolled up before he attempts to help him up. ]

What happened?

[bufudine]

[Serph looks up when he hears the sound of his name, but he doesn't quite recognise the man helping him up. I let myself be killed, is the answer to the question, but it isn't one he's willing to divulge. People don't need to know that.

It takes a while for his slowly returning memories of Vatheon to place this man, but once Serph recognises him, he answers the question.]

A battle. This is not uncommon.

Of course not but that was quite an entrance.

[ Guiding Serph's arm over his shoulders as he helps him out of the fountain. There's a small click of his tongue at the amount of blood in the water though. ]

Let me take you to the clinic so we can assess your state of being.

[closedcircuit]

[Ky pauses on the edge of the plaza, long enough to see that Serph is moving before he starts running over, sword banging into his leg.

He goes down to one knee near the edge of the fountain for the leverage, to help Serph out.]

Serph! Are you alright?

[Does he need to get someone else to help?]

[At the sound of his name, Serph lifts his head. He has difficulty placing the face from his memories of Vatheon -- they're still jumbled, incoherent -- and doesn't immediately respond.

But he nods and silently accepts the help, water running off him as he heaves himself out of the fountain. There's blood, but no visible wound. His movements may be a little lethargic, but he's otherwise fine.]

[Ky checks for a pulse simply to see how strong it is, since it certainly seems like one should exist, and then he leaves Serph briefly to grab a dry towel.]

Can I take you back to your place?

[Giant splashes in the fountain, especially when it's not the time of month when newcomers arrive, are enough to get attention on most days. But the gray in the water and the reddish tinge around it grab Gale's attention even further. He hurries over- and arrives at the fountain just as Serph begins to pull himself out of it.]

Leader. What happened?

[As he asks, he'll be getting an arm around Serph to support him. Can't have him keeling over in the middle of the plaza, after all. And he's mostly calm, mostly focused- typical Gale.]

[Good, good... Serph is grateful for the support, though it's kind of embarrassing to see Gale so soon after he died. He doesn't immediately answer Gale's question, trying to piece together the timeline from Vatheon against the timeline of the Junkyard and "Nirvana".

Serph doesn't like keeping things from his Tribe. But Gale here hasn't been to "Nirvana" yet, has he...?]

A battle.

[Broadly speaking.]

ACTION ( back at the base?? if you think that makes continuity sense! |D )

( he's heard by now. from the others -- about serph's return. like always for heat, he isn't quite sure how to feel -- or how to react in light of it. like most events in his life this feels somehow bittersweet -- )

So. You're back.

I AM COOL WITH THIS. cool. get it--

[... It's a bit jarring to see Heat again so soon. Especially given the last time they met...

This is kind of awkward. It's obvious that Heat doesn't know whatever it is that caused him to turn his anger against him. But, he supposes it would be even more awkward if Heat did and continued their fight.

While he's busy staring, it takes Serph a beat longer than usual to stop spacing out and respond with a nod.]

I heard you took charge while I was gone.

[There's nothing in his tone that hints displeasure with that.]
