Selphie Back in the Swimming Pool

There's a girl draped over the fountain; she's lying backwards across it in a way that doesn't look too comfortable. Slowly, she begins to stir and, eventually she's sitting up. Green eyes open wide as she surveys her surroundings and she tilts her head, not really sure what to make of it. Was it a dream? She rubs her hands into her eyes, as though trying to wake up, but she's still sitting there; the small young woman in the yellow dress. For her next test, she gathers her cheeks between her fingers, pinching them, but she only winces, and leaves small red marks on her cheeks.

'Huh... It's so familiar...'

So she's really there, in this new place, but it could be anywhere. The best thing to do, is to go and explore. So she stretches her legs out in front of her and leaps off the fountain, but her legs are wobbly and there's every chance she might not land on her feet.

{ooc: Selphie's back! For her old buddies - Selphie won't remember everything immediately (since memory is an issue with her, and GFs, etc). If you tell her your name, maybe try to remind her of something that she'll likely remember, then she might come around. Even if she recognises you, it may take a wee bit longer for her to remember the relationship you had - ie, how close or not you were. Hope that makes sense! Unless, of course, you're canon!)

[Meanwhile, Bianca was wandering around near the fountain until she spotted someone who needed some help. It seems like it might be that time again. With that, she quickly went up to the girl. It's been a while since she greeted someone like this]

*Selphie was a little startled by the introduction of the girl, but she looked so cute that Selphie couldn't help but smile*

Hey! Vatheon, huh?

*She frowned a little as she spoke, like the word should mean something to her, but she couldn't figure out how*

A towel would be awesome right now! I dunno how I got so wet!

It's from the fountain, I was like that when I first arrived!

[She smiled a bit before pointing to the building]

There should be a towel over there and some information too! Do you want me to go over there with you?

Arrived? Did I, like, swim to get here or something?

*Selphie tilted her head, looking at the girl and her surroundings again. Then she looked in the direction of the building and nodded*

Sure, if you want to! Maybe you can help explain the uh...information.

No, it's more like you jumped out of the fountain!

[Did that even make any sense? Oh well]

Okay, I'll lead the way! What kind of questions do you want to ask me?

[It's getting close to evening, and that's when the party Rinoa is throwing for his birthday starts. Squall supposes he should get there early since there is a very distinct possibility that she'll need help with something.

He's passing by the plaza when he notices a wet person. Right. It's that time again. He almost continues on when he stops to take a second look.]

...Selphie!?

*There's no mistaking that voice, no way. Her commander, of course. But she hadn't expect to hear it here. Still, she immediately perks up and seeks out the source of the voice*

Squall!~

*She flashes a quick salute before rushing over*

You're here too!

[Oh geez, when was the last time anyone saluted him? Not even the Defense Forces salutes.]

Yeah, I'm still here.

*Selphie frowned a little as she moved closer, and placed a hand to her forehead*

Are we on a mission? I thought that was all over...

[Mission? She's...oh.]

Do you remember anything about this place?

[Rinoa was just starting to head towards home, finished with her shopping for the party that night. She walks by the fountain, distantly hoping to see a familiar face. It's that time of the month, and there's always a chance...

In spite of that, she really wasn't expecting to see that little figure and that bright yellow dress. She legit almost drops all her bags when she sees Selphie. There's a long moment of shock and her staring, before she calls out:]

Selphie?

*Selphie was stretching, reaching her arms high above her head. She felt as though she'd been sleeping for ages, but why the heck would she be sleeping so awkwardly on a fountain?

When she heard her name, she dropped her arms by her side and spotted Rinoa. Selphie smiled and waved brightly, running over to her friend*

Hey Rinoa! You're here!

[Rinoa hurries over, dropping the bags to the ground (carefully) before running up and giving Selphie a hug.]

I can't believe it. You're back!

*Selphie laughed and hugged back quite happily*

Back? I didn't go anywhere in the first place!

*She laughed again, frowning for a fraction of a second before slowly pulling back*

[Rinoa has a frown to match Selphie's and it's mainly just confused when she pulls back, keeping her hands on her friend's shoulders.]

Don't tell me... you don't remember being here from before? You had been here when I was brought here. Then you were sent home a few months ago.

[Gamzee had just been wandering about when a familiar flash of person caught his eye. Now that was just silly. She hadn't been here in ages, but there she was again. Fuckin' amazing how that all happened to be.

His smile breaks wider, and he jogs up.]

Aww, shit, it's really you.

*Selphie was beginning to move away from the fountain, having decided to go about and do some exploring. She was wringing out some water from her dress when she heard her name. She turned and immediately stood defensively at the...person?running at her*
Who are you?

[Gamzee slows at that. He was intending to wrap her up in a huge hug, but that question derails him.]

You ain't remember?

*Selphie blinks at the person, creature, something, in front of her. She's seen a lot of different things in her time, so it's not his appearance, though that is interesting - she's just sure she'd remember someone who looked like that...*

Remember. Uhm...

*It's not new for Selphie to forget, so she shakes her head slowly*

[A little disappoint, but nothing that will keep Gamzee down! He knows how bad memories can be. Maybe she just needs a little time. And just cause she doesn't have her memories doesn't mean they can't be buddies again.

He shakes his head a little, giving her a smile to indicate it is cool.]

It's chill, chica. If you ain't all able to get your remember on for this wicked-ass hood, we just gotta be about making your some new fuckin' memories, yeah?

[ Italy had been out for tomatoes. he needed tomatoes for pasta. He'd made a lot of pasta lately, though as he lives alone now, it turned into left-over pasta. And left-over pasta needed tomato sauce.

Well he wasn't quite expecting to see a new face that was all too familiar. He nearly dropped his bag of tomatoes as he dashed over to her. ]

*That was definitely someone yelling her name - she spins round to get better look at who it was, but doesn't see anyone she recognises. What she does see is a guy who looks pretty happy, so she gives a wave back*

[ Italy had many people disappear on him but never one return. This was very exciting. It hadn't yet occurred to him that she might not remember him, but it was hard to forget Italy. ]

*Selphie watches him, and his excitement makes her giggle*
