YE WHO ENTER, PREPARE TO BE PUNCHED
Who: You, you and YOU! Anyone who is up for some good ol' sparring/training/getting their face beaten in
Where: In the park
When: All week, starting on the 20th!
Style: Anything goes!
Status: OPEN
It's a good week in the bubble! ...Then again, every week is fairly pleasant, temperature wise, in this little city under the sea.
But!
This week is extra pleasant, because there are training dummies set up all over the field in the park, all ready and waiting to be smacked around or smashed into itty bitty bits. Oh, but if hitting dummies aren't your thing, there are also targets for the archers and marksmen who want to get some target practice set up at the north end, cordoned off so people don't accidentally wander into the line of fire. And for those who'd rather play it safe or would like start learning the art of battle, there are plenty of practice weapons in... wheelbarrows? at the corners of the field.
Well, okay, this week would actually be unpleasant if you use the park for some peace and quiet. But for everyone else wanting to get some good old fashioned sparring and training in, this week's a great time to do it!

Worse than breaking your leg?
no subject
Well...it wasn't the only thing that broke at that time. [A building kind of fell on him, he'd have been amazed if his leg was the only thing that broke.]
A building fell on me.

She watches the shot as he takes it, and maybe she'd been about to comment, but of course she's going to wait for him to answer her first. It wasn't quite what she'd been expecting.]
. . . Well, that wasn't very nice of it.
no subject
You could say that again... [But if that building hadn't fallen on him, he wouldn't have met Tuon...Well, he can deal with pain.]
no subject
[Not that buildings are capable of ripping out an eyeball so cleanly like that. But she figured it would be worth asking if there was some kind of connection.]
no subject
No. That was...later. [A while later. At least a couple months. He doesn't know really how much time passed between the two events. The time recovering, the time spent with Tuon, the time spent getting to Caemlyn, and the time waiting in Caemlyn with Verin's bloody letter, and then however long it took him to get to Moiraine in the realm of the flaming Snakes and Foxes (it felt like less than a day, but...well, you never really know with the Snakes and Foxes)... At very least a couple of months.
But that did hurt a lot more than the building falling on him - especially when he showed up here and salt water got in it. Light, that had hurt...]

[So, it was unrelated. She is still curious and wants to ask for more details, but she gets the feeling he would've mentioned them by now if he wanted to, so . . . she just kind of awkwardly keeps quiet, as she takes her next turn.
It seems finally, after all that trying, she finally hit a bull's eye.
. . . !!]
H- Hey, look at that! Finally.
[At least that's enough of a distraction. She grins a little proudly.]

He doesn't think telling people that he went to go rescue Moiraine with Thom and Noal and gave up his eye to get her out of the realm of Snakes and Foxes. For one, they might ask why it was that important to get her out. He doesn't think telling them that he was told by the Snakes earlier that he would "give up half the light of the world to save the world" would make much sense to anyone.
He raises his eyebrows and smiles, whistling a little.]
Good job! [It really is. Getting a bull's eye doesn't happen all that often unless you're Tam al'Thor.]

Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead.
Well, they hadn't exactly been keeping score-- and she's not too tired yet.
But we can say they've been at it for a while.]
no subject
Why would you do that? You've obviously practiced a lot more than I have recently, and it shows. [After all, he's only gotten into the middle a couple of times - far less than she has.]
no subject
[Gosh, Yukari's not actually a quitter!! She just chuckles a bit and shakes her head, as she steps back to allow him to take his turn. He may have only gotten a bulls' eye a couple times, but he's improving pretty quickly.]
no subject
And he has a lot more experience telling jokes than listening to them anyway.]
Ah.
[Setting the arrow, he takes a breath - holding it for a moment - and releases the arrow with it.
It still feels a bit strange, but nowhere near as odd as it had when he started. Hopefully even that'll go away after more practice.]
no subject
Practice would indeed make the awkwardness go away, both on and off the field. And that's something they can both look forward to.]
