YE WHO ENTER, PREPARE TO BE PUNCHED
Who: You, you and YOU! Anyone who is up for some good ol' sparring/training/getting their face beaten in
Where: In the park
When: All week, starting on the 20th!
Style: Anything goes!
Status: OPEN
It's a good week in the bubble! ...Then again, every week is fairly pleasant, temperature wise, in this little city under the sea.
But!
This week is extra pleasant, because there are training dummies set up all over the field in the park, all ready and waiting to be smacked around or smashed into itty bitty bits. Oh, but if hitting dummies aren't your thing, there are also targets for the archers and marksmen who want to get some target practice set up at the north end, cordoned off so people don't accidentally wander into the line of fire. And for those who'd rather play it safe or would like start learning the art of battle, there are plenty of practice weapons in... wheelbarrows? at the corners of the field.
Well, okay, this week would actually be unpleasant if you use the park for some peace and quiet. But for everyone else wanting to get some good old fashioned sparring and training in, this week's a great time to do it!

Heh, Yukari shakes her head, after watching Serph handle his pistol. He'd used a knife before, she remembers; so this will be different than before.]
With this, maybe... [She gestures to her bow, holding it up a bit to show him.] I don't know how to use a gun.
[Her eyes flicker to her Evoker for a moment, with an expression that seems to say, "Well, that's not completely true..." -- but she doesn't say anything else about it just yet.]
no subject
legs'gun', his stare lingering as he recalls that familiar design. Oh, it's that gun that isn't really a gun...]That's for your Persona, correct?
[You weird kids and your shooting yourselves in the heads.]
no subject
She'll nod, though. He's correct.]
Yeah. It's not a real one like yours.
[A quick pause, before she adds:]
I guess I haven't shown you how it works yet, have I?
no subject
Instead, he gives her a small nod.]
I'd like to see your Persona.
no subject
She supposes he doesn't have to know much for her to show him.
Yukari sets her bow aside for now, with a sigh, and pulls her Evoker out of its holster.]
Just promise me you won't freak out.
[Not that she could imagine Serph of all people doing such a thing. But still.]

Deep breaths, then; and she closes her eyes in preparation. For some reason it feels like it's been a while since she's done this-- but she raises the Evoker to her temple slowly.
Slowly, her finger squeezes the trigger--]
no subject
[Her voice and tone are rather explosive, as is the eruption from the Evoker as Isis is released. But the spell she casted-- not so much. Serph might even recognize it.
...It's just a Diarahan spell.]

Serph's prepared for the brief appearance of a demon, so his attention goes to Yukari's Persona the moment it appears, drinking in as much detail he can in that time. And yes, he does recognise the familiar wave of healing energy wash over him. Like his experience with Minato, it seems there's some common magic shared between their worlds.
He looks a bit thoughtful. Minato had multiple Personas, but Yukari had said a long time ago that she had "one". It didn't necessarily mean she didn't have more than one, though...]
Do you have more Personas?
[Yeah that sure is complete and utter lack of surprise at the whole headshot thing.]
no subject
That line of thinking is cut short pretty quickly though, since Yukari realizes she probably doesn't want to find out. She merely shakes her head in response to his question.]
'Fraid not. One seems to be the norm... [That's how many everyone else has, too.]
It's Minato-kun that has more.
no subject
One is the usual, huh... Serph stares at the space where Isis had been previously for a moment before returning his attention to Yukari.]
Personas have strengths and weaknesses, correct?
no subject
It doesn't occur to Yukari, unfortunately that he's already seen Minato do it. But regardless, she nods this time.]
Yup. [That's pretty normal, too.] And I'm sure guys have your own, right...?
[Strengths and weaknesses.]
no subject
Varna is ice-aligned, but weak to fire. We had methods to cover our weaknesses, but most are lost to us here.
[It's very strange, not being able to access the other skills he's learnt. He tilts his head, silently asking about her Persona's strengths and weaknesses.]
no subject
I guess that makes me wind-aligned... but I'm weak to electricity.
[Isis, to be more specific; but Isis is a part of Yukari anyway, so it's essentially the same thing. Sadly, her human form doesn't protect her from this weakness.]
We've come across special equipment before to help us deal with certain elements...but I don't really know if that counts as a "method."
[It's certainly not a skill to just put on some boots that help you dodge against electricity...
Heh, or maybe it is.]
no subject
So Yukari's Persona is like Vayu, then. Serph nods to acknowlege Yukari's input. No, the Karma Temple never provided them with equipment to help them survive, only equipment to maximise the killing, medical items excepted. He clarifies his statement.]
We have spells to shield us from attack types.
[If he was transformed, he'd demonstrate, but it seems a bit too much effort for something so minor.]
Before, we could also give our demons additional resistances.
[But then there were some jerks like Huang Long who were like, resistant to everything. The demon one got really was luck of the draw. They hadn't been particularly powerful, and still aren't, but the core Tribe are good at covering each other.]
no subject
[Shield spells, huh? That would've been nice... though she's having trouble picturing it, she would've loved one against Electricity. Nothing would be able to touch her then...]
We didn't have anything like that. We just used special protective clothing-- whatever we could get our hands on.
[Sometimes stuff from Tartarus, the Abyss of Time... and sometimes they would just buy it.]
We had a friend, sort of, who would sell us that kinda stuff.
[Weapons, too.]
no subject
Yukari had mentioned she was wind aligned. He knows she can heal, so does that mean her magic is powerful and... windy? He tilts his head.]
Would you like to spar?
no subject
[Ah.
Somehow she... hadn't quite expected that, although her entire purpose of being here is to train. She can't help but think of the "sparring," the tournament she participated in back home, against her own friends--
And she wonders if she could do it again.
Surely this would have to be a lot more friendly than that, though-- even if her chances don't seem much better. She doesn't want to be seen backing down, either way.]
Uh, sure...
[Although her answer is in the affirmative, it might not be quite so enthusiastic.]
How should we do this?
no subject
There is a good place.
[He turns his attention to the weapon in Yukari's hand. The closest things he's seen to that are the crossbows used by the Vanguards. Oh, but hm, Yukari fights as a human, doesn't she?]
I will be transformed; I have fewer combat options as a human. Either one of us can call for the spar to end.
[He tilts his head. Are those terms acceptable to Yukari?]
no subject
Although a majority of her attack will probably come from Isis, presumably, especially if Serph's going to be transformed.
...Haaa, it's kind of a scary thought. She remembers Varna's arm blades well. But she's faced Shadows that are bigger, so she nods and follows his gaze to this open space.]
All right. It's... been a while since I've had to fight seriously, though.
[Vatheon being peaceful as it is. Being sent home aside, the last time she remembers her Persona even being necessary is when the kraken attacked...]
no subject
That's fine. I won't hurt you badly.
[Serph has self-control.]
My demon can take a lot of magical and physical punishment.
[So, you know, feel free to use that dinky bow on him, Yukari.
He's fully transformed by this time, though. And because Serph's not a gentleman who gives warning before attacking, he starts with a lovely icicle placed right under Yukari's feet.]
1/2
LUCKILY for Yukari, it isn't hard to feel the rapid temperature drop beneath her feet, which she notices before she even has a chance to respond to what he says. Not that there'd been that much to say anyway, so she kind of hobbles out of the way best she can as the icicle forms, trying her best to get herself into the mindset of battle.
He's serious, huh...?]
no subject
Isis!
[Shooting at her temple, which by now is nothing Serph hasn't seen before.
She hopes you like
ZanGarudynes.]no subject
Serph's already moving, but the spell -- a Zandyne? -- still catches him on his trailing leg. The wind opens some cuts on his leg, and the compressed air strikes his calf, a powerful enough blow that makes him stumble, giving Yukari an opening.]
no subject
Another Garudyne flies his way, and since he's stumbling she hopes it'll hit dead-on...]
