[GV] - 2 - A pirate's life for me

The host club Golden Victory was closed for the last two days to facilitate a change of theme. When its doors reopen on the first, the change from the upscale classy atmosphere of last month is dramatic. The interior is now decked out to the theme of a pirate ship. There's rigging along the booths at the walls and the bar has been done up to look like an exotic market. Fruits and nuts have replaced the bowls of peanuts that had graced the bar top and the herbs and spices cast a pleasing aroma over the entire club floor. There is a small Help Wanted: Bartender. Contact Zelos for Details sign on the bar but it's oddly hard to spot, partially obscured by various bits of decor.

The hosts themselves have been given opulent pirate attire to go with the theme! Each, of course, has been allowed to add little details of their own to the uniform as long as it fits with the theme, and of course lets not forget the hats. The host list is, as ever, placed by the door for the customer's perusal next to the posting of the rules.

I'm staying in the Vita Apartments now. It didn't take much to move since I didn't have a lot of stuff. The complex seems a little more lively then my last one as well.

Thank you, Tatsumi-san. I wasn't really used to living alone so it is definitely an improvement. How about you? How have you been doing with everything?

[Tatsumi knows exactly what he's asking, but he kinda avoids answering directly.]

We're doing fine. Both Tsuzuki and I took part in the Fisholympics recently. But I must say with some pride that it was my team that won. [Tatsumi, you suck. You have to tell Fai, isn't that why you came here for?]

Ah congrats~. My team finished..ah I think it was third. I'm proud of them for doing their best. Some of the games were very difficult.

Congratulations to you too. It was an amusing event. But I'm never again doing fly fish skiing... [Shakes his head.] And I believe Tsuzuki won't be trying jelly fish volleyball anytime soon...

I rather enjoyed all of the events I was in. I like trying new things.

Which events did you participate in?

I did the Water Paint ball, Fly fish skiing, Sand castle building, Jellyfish volleyball, Betta race, and Triathlon. I'm not sure which one was the most fun but we did win the volleyball tournament.

I remember seeing you in some of these events. Akihiko-san wasn't very happy when we were eliminated from volleyball... I did all of these, except betta race and triathlon.

I did enjoy all the team sports. And I got to meet a lot of nice people during the events.

[He nods.] I didn't know anyone on my team beforehand.

I don't believe I did either. We should thank the locals for putting something like this on.

[Fai looks into his tea for a moment, as if debating on something..his expression goes a touch serious as he stares into the cup.]

My brother has recently arrived on this world..

[He looks at Fai and nods.]

I know... I saw his arrival video on the network. He seemed... confused...

[Fai nods and rests back against the couch, he looks off across the room.]

He has a lot to be confused about..He's my twin brother..I watched him die a very long time ago.

[That gets him to raise an eyebrow.] Die, you say? [How come that people who are supposed to be dead arrive in this place.]

I do have a question, though... He said his name is Fai... Isn't that your name?

[There is hesitation. That is the question that he knew would get raised the most..and something he is going to have to address somehow.]

That is his name..after I left the world we were in..after he died, I took his name in place of my own. My real name is Yuui.

[Well, that certainly explains a lot from the conversation he had with Fai. And why the boy was so confused.]

I see... [He's unsure what to think of this.] It must have been very painful to see your twin die... I am sorry, Fai... Yuui-san...

[The name sounds so foreign to his ears. It's been decades since he has heard it last used in reference to himself.]

It was my fault..or at least that is what I believed for many years. That name hardly seems like my own anymore..but I suppose in this place I might have to reclaim it as such.

[He is unsure what he should Fai now...]

What should I call you, my friend. Maybe Flourite-san would be appropriate? [He doesn't want the vampire to feel uncomfortable when being addressed.]

That seems rather formal..and in truth that is merely a name that was also given to me after I took my brother's. The name I gave upon arriving here..none of it is real.

[It's like admitting his entire existence was nothing but lies. Then again..much of his life was surrounded by them. He wonders if a life made up of lies, is even a life at all.]

I suppose you can call me Yuui for now..it would be for the best to avoid any confusion should you encounter my brother.

Alright, I suppose Yuui-san it will be.

[He is rather disappointed that Fai or Yuui wasn't honest with him, but he seems to have his reasons.]

Will you be fine?

I am happy to have him with me again..I just worry about the confusion that will arise and trying to explain what has happened to him. [Not to mention..it means the twins of misfortune are together again..will that mean the end of yet another world? Fai can't help but worry.]

I'll be fine though. You don't have to worry about me.
