[GV] - 2 - A pirate's life for me

The host club Golden Victory was closed for the last two days to facilitate a change of theme. When its doors reopen on the first, the change from the upscale classy atmosphere of last month is dramatic. The interior is now decked out to the theme of a pirate ship. There's rigging along the booths at the walls and the bar has been done up to look like an exotic market. Fruits and nuts have replaced the bowls of peanuts that had graced the bar top and the herbs and spices cast a pleasing aroma over the entire club floor. There is a small Help Wanted: Bartender. Contact Zelos for Details sign on the bar but it's oddly hard to spot, partially obscured by various bits of decor.

The hosts themselves have been given opulent pirate attire to go with the theme! Each, of course, has been allowed to add little details of their own to the uniform as long as it fits with the theme, and of course lets not forget the hats. The host list is, as ever, placed by the door for the customer's perusal next to the posting of the rules.

I do have a question, though... He said his name is Fai... Isn't that your name?

[There is hesitation. That is the question that he knew would get raised the most..and something he is going to have to address somehow.]

That is his name..after I left the world we were in..after he died, I took his name in place of my own. My real name is Yuui.

[Well, that certainly explains a lot from the conversation he had with Fai. And why the boy was so confused.]

I see... [He's unsure what to think of this.] It must have been very painful to see your twin die... I am sorry, Fai... Yuui-san...

[The name sounds so foreign to his ears. It's been decades since he has heard it last used in reference to himself.]

It was my fault..or at least that is what I believed for many years. That name hardly seems like my own anymore..but I suppose in this place I might have to reclaim it as such.

What should I call you, my friend. Maybe Flourite-san would be appropriate? [He doesn't want the vampire to feel uncomfortable when being addressed.]

That seems rather formal..and in truth that is merely a name that was also given to me after I took my brother's. The name I gave upon arriving here..none of it is real.

[It's like admitting his entire existence was nothing but lies. Then again..much of his life was surrounded by them. He wonders if a life made up of lies, is even a life at all.]

I suppose you can call me Yuui for now..it would be for the best to avoid any confusion should you encounter my brother.

[He is rather disappointed that Fai or Yuui wasn't honest with him, but he seems to have his reasons.]

Will you be fine?

I am happy to have him with me again..I just worry about the confusion that will arise and trying to explain what has happened to him. [Not to mention..it means the twins of misfortune are together again..will that mean the end of yet another world? Fai can't help but worry.]

I'll be fine though. You don't have to worry about me.

[He can't help it, so he'll try to keep an eye on them.]

Is your brother... a vampire too?

No..I only became a vampire recently. He has no idea that is what I am..and I'd really like to keep it that way for as long as I can.

I would appreciate that. A lot has changed since I last saw him..I'd like to take it slow.

He is your brother, Yuui-san. I have no right to confuse the boy more than he is.

[He promises to himself he will protect both of them, Yuui and Fai, should they ever need to. But he doesn't dare say it aloud. He has broken too many promises in his life already. Some of them to Yuui/Fai.]

Thank you, Tatsumi-san..I'm sorry for the lies but it was necessary. [At least that is what Fai had always thought..]

[Shrugs.] You must have had your reasons... [He just hopes those reasons were honorable.]

Yuui-san... [Takes a deep breath.] I need to tell you something...

[Fai tilts his head and looks over at Tatsumi.]

What is it?

[His cheeks color lightly. This is extremely hard for him to say, but better Yuui finds out from him.]

Well... I... Tsuzuki-san and I...

[behind_my_smile]

[Fai is more perceptive then he typically lets on and he is able to piece what Tatsumi is about to say together..or at least he can make a pretty good guess about it. He stays quiet and he tries to keep his expression rather neutral.]

[He sighs and looks down.]

[That surprises him a little but he smiles. That same masking smile that is able to hide everything so well.]

You don't have anything to apologize for Tatsumi-san. That is obviously good news. It's always nice to find someone special.

[Not that Fai would know anything about that, or expects that he ever will.]

[He's an idiot at this, so he doesn't know what else he should say or do.]

[Fai had known this was coming. Perhaps he has already prepared himself for it. All he can do is show his friend that everything is fine even if he knows that in truth it will change everything.]

I'm just glad you've found someone that will make you happy. You deserve it.

Of course. [Fai looks genuinely confused by that question.] Even though someone has someone important..doesn't mean they have to lose the friends they've gained.
