Enter Mischief

[It was a deafening crash to the ground. Dozens of trees were uprooted or snapped in half in a charred trail that led to a small crater in a clearing. Echos of the rumbling could still be heard tens of minutes after the dust has settled. Though there is still some thick smoke in the hole, one close enough could see that something stirs within. One foot out. And then another. Followed by the swish of a coat's hem and the judging eyes of a man burdened with glorious purpose.
Loki does not like it when things don't go according to plan. He was bound and gagged by his brother and they were on their way back home when a force painfully yanked him from the bridge to Asgard. Now here we was - both drenched in seawater and partially on fire, unscathed but The reason behind the failure of the transport he had yet to discover. Right now he scanned his surroundings and scoffed in disapproval.
It was a realm he had never been in before. It was frustrating because now his body has to adjust itself to the system of mana in this world... that is, if there even is one here. He tried to generate fire. Nothing but sparks.
He's going to need time to figure out his next move, but there would be little of that for now. He can hear someone nearing the crash site, probably to investigate, and Loki had not the energy to teleport, cloak himself or even move. Whoever was approaching, Loki had to at least make sure it was a safe encounter. He can't make enemies now. At least not yet.
He took a throwing knife from a hidden pocket on his back and stabbed himself in the gut without wincing or flinching. He knows it will completely heal before the night is over. And as soon as that someone came into view, Loki put on a panicked face and screamed.]
Help!! Somebody, please!! Help me!!
[He grinned in his mind. So it begins]

What in the world are you babbling about?
[ A growl emitted from him. ]
Seek amusement elsewhere or your life will be forfeit!

[He looked down on the gnarring Yasha, jeering tauntingly. He will serve a fine muse for the many, many talents of Loki Laufeyson.]
Besides, I'm a god. You're a god. How do we even begin to forfeit a life destined for immortal abandon?
no subject
You should use your time for more worthwhile pursuits!
[ Yasha nearly yelled as he tossed several streaks of lightning his way. Unlike Thor who had full control over thunder and lightning, Yasha was limited by the amount of mantra energy he possessed. While the core of his being is crafted out of the life-giving mantra, Yasha couldn't solely rely on this power alone without fear of depleting it. However in his obviously frustrated state, the Demigod wasn't exactly thinking too straight. ]
Begone! I'm not your jester.

Loki landed on the ground below, smoking from the electrifying assault but visibly unharmed.]
I've picked up a few tricks fighting my brother. You'd figure someone should learn fighting the God of Thunder for many a millenia.
[As Loki turned to face Yasha, one would see that the front part of his coat had been singed off and that there was a scar on his chest that showed where the lightning hit its mark - a scar that was slowly healing.]
I would like to thank you for the heady dose of magical energy. Now I would like to demonstrate a further extent of my repertoire.
[Loki's eyes turned a fiery red in the darkness, piercing the night itself, making it bleed. He stretched an arm towards Yasha's direction and spoke in two voices.]
You will learn that I can turn you into more than a jester. When I'm through with you, you will beg to be my wench!!
[And at that interjection, it was as if Loki had unleashed winter in a concentrated blast.]

...Impossible.
[ He couldn't help but gawk at Loki in mild awe. ]
Impossible!
[ At his wits' end already, Yasha was just about to see if he could cover the ground between him and Loki to catch the god off guard, until the trickster began to work his magic once more. Yasha didn't know what to expect once those fiery eyes began glow brighter. He could tell by the sudden change in Loki's voice that the trickster was undoubtedly up to no good. Hoping to avoid whatever hell that Loki was about to unleash, the Demigod nearly vanished completely only to reappear above with several more lightning strikes aimed at the Trickster below. ]
You'll never make me kneel nevertheless beg!

[Loki calmly generated a field around him to shield from the barrage of electric discharge. Loki tutted a loud 'tch' in disapproval at all the wasted energy.]
I've thwarted that attack before. What makes you think it will work a second time?
[Loki raised his hand and shot a stream of icicles in the direction the onslaught was coming from.]

Not wasting any time dodging the incoming icicles, Yasha surged forth with a new found confidence. Unlike their previous bout, the God of Melancholy was literally relying on his speed from here on out to overwhelm Loki. The trickster had it in his mind that he was the fastest of the two, a gross misconception if nothing else. He slashed and punched at the sorcerer with a skill unseen by most mortals. Yasha kept his movements timed and orderly, doing his best to catch Loki off balanced for one of his more powerful strikes.
The entire time he was on the offense, a bright blue aura circled around his fists. It was the same magic as before except this time utilized in a different sense. If any of his punches or kicks hit him, Loki will be in a world of hurt. That extra zap of electricity certainly won't feel good with the strength of a Titan behind his punches. ]

Though Loki had already thought of what he would do should Yasha connect a punch or a kick, he decided it wasn't time yet to resort to that tactic.]
Resorting to brawn when magic failed you? I am definitely dumbfounded by your strategy.
[Loki halts his assault of ice and splits himself into three copies of himself each standing in a corner of a triangle formation that encompassed Yasha.]
Let the games continue.
[All three Lokis raised their hands towards the other god. Though two of them were mere illusions, they all shot icicles relentlessly at him.]

If he kept a calm and leveled head, there's no way he could possibly lose to the trickster. In the past, whenever he allowed his emotions to get the better of him, Asura always won their duels. Asura was the God of Wrath, so it doesn't come as a surprise that Asura's wrath is his power. As for Yasha, that would be the complete opposite for him.
Once the three Loki's began their icy assault, Yasha took a step back and braced himself. He moved nimbly in between the falling icicles, almost moving as fast as light itself to avoid getting struck. It was an impressive maneuver, one more likened to a dance rather than actual combat. However, he couldn't keep up this amazing speed for long and eventually Yasha began to counter the ice with his forearms in an attempt to block them. ]

Now's the time to use that tactic.
He stopped shooting icicles and pretended to look tired. Though his two copies were still firing at Yasha, Loki doubled over and let his hands support his weight against his knees.
He was counting on Yasha to see this as an opening. It was a gamble, really. Loki had no idea that this little ploy of his will end things well for him.
Adrenaline coursed through his veins, making everything seem a lot slower yet faster at the same time. He locked his eyes on the other god's as he swiftly approaches.]

A slight smirk almost settled on his lips once he saw that the real Loki fallen to fatigue. The other two, which he assumed were fake, continued pelting him with ice magic while the real one gasped for air. Deciding this would be a fine time to end this bout, Yasha suddenly vanished completely from view only to reappear an inch away from the real Loki with a punch hurled towards his face. ]
This ends now!

Silence.
It was all over.
That is, until Loki started laughing. ]
I'm impressed. That would have definitely killed me.
[A hand gripped the arm that was still connected to Loki's face]
But, I believe I told you...
[Another hand swiftly clutched Yasha's face.]
...a god can learn new tricks in a fight.
[Maniacal was Loki's laughter - his face still broken and bleeding, though now slowly mending - as he firmly held onto Yasha's resisting head and slowly drained his life force. To make matters worse, the other hand was encrusting Yasha's body in ice.]
no subject
What!?
[ Before he had the chance to realize this was a trap, the trickster grabbed his arm with a vice-like grip. Now locking his gaze with the Loki, a look of pure anguish settled in Yasha's eyes once he felt his energy slowly began to slip away. ]
You faked it...
[ The harsh bite of the ice against his flesh was enough to wrench a few pained groans from him but Yasha did his best to keep them at bay. He wasn't about to give Loki the satisfaction of knowing he won. ]

[The odds were in his favor. Though his face still stings from Yasha's punch, he took pleasure in forcing him into a kneel. He was resisting the ice spell and the energy Loki was draining didn't seem to have an end.
No matter. He already made his point. He has made his presence known. He need not destroy or considerably harm Yasha.
At least not yet.]
But should the bards be stubborn and bold and sing of this anyway, what would be the name of the man who had the honor of experiencing my power?
no subject
You may have bested me now but don't get cocky.
[ Those words came out as a faint whisper now that most of his energy had been drained. Struggling to stay conscious now, the reluctant Demigod answered Loki with a look of defiance within his golden gaze. ]
I'm Yasha of the Seven Deities, the God of Melancholy. This won't be the last time we shall meet.
GG ^_^
He raised a hand, whispered a few words and snapped his fingers. At once, all the ice that had stuck to the ground and the trees began to melt. All the scorch marks from Yasha's lightning assault was blown away. Everything shattered, splintered and broken in the fight had been mended and put together - making it seem like that epic battle between gods never happened at all.
Lastly, Loki raised a hand over Yasha's crumpled body on the floor and light emanated from his body. The trickster healed all the ice cuts and burns from Yasha's body. He recovered everything except for the energy he had drained.]
So that anyone who passes by will think you just tripped and decided to sleep here. Saves on the embarrassment and such...
[Loki straightened up his clothes and slicked back his hair. His face had already completely mended.]
I would like to thank you for your most gracious welcome. But, forgive me, I must now depart. I must see this world and its inhabitants and judge them accordingly.
You will see me again, God of Melancholy. I pray that by then you are stronger.
[He laughed as he vanished into thin air, leaving only echos of his laughter and the cold of winter. Loki was going to enjoy his stay here in this new world.]
oh man, this was wild!
Don't you dare...
[ Before he could say thing, the trickster was gone and so was any evidence of their duel. Uncertain whether he should be thankful to still be alive, Yasha used what little energy he had left to lift himself from the ground. There was no way he could hope to fly or even walk at this point to safer ground. What Loki did will severely hinder him for the days to come, a loathsome fact that Yasha honestly hated. ]
