[ By the time Mithos arrives, he's soaked and looks like a drowned kitten. Coughing up lung-fulls of water, he sputters something about 'Pronyma' and being stupid. When he first arrives, it looks at first like he's someone else entirely, before reverting to this form; his child form. The change happens too quickly for anyone to tell that he was just in the form of Lord Yggdrasill; he just looks like a glowy ball. ]

P-Pronyma, what are you-- [ Cough, cough. By the time he finally gets up, he looks dazed, still disoriented, and still trying to steady his breathing. The Cruxis Crystal may mean he doesn't need food or sleep, but he still needs to breathe. The explosions of stars in his eyes gone, he looks up at the coral, clutching his side, where he had been hit by a Demon Fang earlier after having fought Lloyd's party in his Yggdrasill form only one day earlier; they had fared better than their first time around (despite still losing), and actually landed a few noteworthy hits on him. He still hadn't recovered from that, and another Demon Fang on an already sore spot was quite painful. ]

Wha... where am I?

[ Rodyle's Human Ranch? No, not unless Rodyle embezzled Desian funds to COMPLETELY RENOVATE THE ENTIRE RANCH WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION. This... this was something else entirely. ]

[ Fluttershy was her name. She was actually kind of nice. ]

Altessa's. But I just laid there, for the most part. I don't sleep, you know.

[ He didn't even need to. He designed his Cruxis Crystal that way, though he does enjoy eating, still. Even if it's just for pleasure. ]

Obviously I know that, neither do I, not for physical reasons. But y'know, your brain's gotta shut off somehow to rest, so...

[It's.. possible Mithos doesn't sleep at all? It would either explain why he's so unstable or just be an effect of his crystal being the strongest. either way, it bothers Zelos enough that he's forgotten Mithos may not know he's activated his crystal.]

Not often.

[ What? If he doesn't need to, what's the point? The way he says that is so casually, so nonchalantly. It's like he doesn't think it's even the slightest bit important at all. ]

Hmm. Well, there's always food. I know you still eat even if you don't need it.

[They all did, really. Save for maybe Kratos, but Zelos doesn't give even a tiny bit of consideration to what Kratos enjoys or not.

Though after the words are out of his mouth, Zelos wishes he'd thought of something else to distract Mithos with. Zelda does have to eat and she may very well be in the kitchen...]

Food...

[ Mithos didn't eat often, mostly because he, like Zelos, didn't have to, though he did eat with Lloyd's party. Genis was an amazing cook. Even Mithos had to grant him that. ]

Okay.

[ A simple, one-word answer, as Mithos turned away from the window, walked right passed Zelos, and down the stars. ]

[Zelda is still shaken, but she's out of the bath and dressed again by the time Mithos heads downstairs. It seems that the princess is considering what to eat. She smiles over her shoulder when she hears the boy approaching.]

Are you not sleepy, Mithos?

[She knows he's not. She knows he never will be.]

[Zelos looks normal as ever as he follows Mithos downstairs and plops down at the table. He's aware some contact will be unavoidable so long as Mithos is here in their home, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to monitor it.]

Zelda-hunny, is there any pie left~?

No, I'm not.

[ Mithos gave the curt response to Zelda as he hopped up on the chair - even for a physical-14 year old, he's pretty small - folding his arms on the table. He listened to Zelos follow him, and mention pie. Pie. Genis made a great pie. The thought of it does sound good. ]

I wanted to have dinner with you.

[Zelos, you unbelievable asshole. She knows if she treats him badly in front of Mithos beyond a "don't call me hunny" retort it will ruin whatever plan he has. She could tear it all down right now, she could, it would be so easy...]

I told you not to call me that!

[Instead of looking as angry as she is, she just looks a little embarrassed. Cute, even. Extremely cute. It's entirely on purpose. Still red, she turns to Mithos and smiles a little.]

I'm afraid I'm not much of a cook, it's really Zelos's forte - but I can certainly try. Or we could just have a little of the leftover pie. Do you like chocolate?

[She moves to get it out of the cooler.]

[He'd suggested the pie since it was already prepared, which means a shorter time at the table. What he hadn't counted on was Zelda actually making a cute face. Yes, it fits with Zelos's usual mode of teasing hunnies, something Mithos would be quite used to, but it's just so uncharacteristic of Zelda that he knows it has to be a statement of some kind.

Damn it all. He's going to have to be careful.]

Don't forget the whipped cream~

[ Mithos notes Zelda's reaction. He tried to study her, but, it was convincing enough to make him believe it was genuine. Besides, he didn't know her well enough to know otherwise. He was left only with a passing thought that she had bad taste in men. ]

I like chocolate, yeah.

[ Trying to ignore the innuendo Zelos snuck in there. He knows damn well that 'eating' wasn't the first thing that popped into his head when he mentioned whipped cream. ]

[She returns to the table with three slices of french silk pie and whipped cream, as well as three glasses of Lon-Lon milk. The urge to hit Zelos is strong. Instead, she just smiles.]

We probably shouldn't just have dessert, but I'm afraid I would burn dinner. Unless Zelos wants to cook us something?

[Smile~]

[Oh you bitch. It's harder to keep an eye on you two when he's in the kitchen, you know.]

What's wrong with pie for dinner?

[ Mithos looks down at the pie, blinks, and takes a fork in his hand, scraping off a bit and taking a bite. It was... surprisingly good. ]

Wow. Did you make this?

[ Mithos turned to Zelos as Zelda made her suggestion. Flashing an evil smirk for just a split second, he nods. ]

I remember Zelos was a pretty decent cook in our own world.

I did. I've been practicing making sweets, at least.

[Her face softens genuinely. When she sees Shizuo again, she'd like to actually know how to make a proper cake.

It's gone quickly, saccharine once more as she looks to her housemate.]

He's quite good, really. Won't you make us something?

[Zelda might be younger than both angels in the room, but Zelos is mistaken if he thinks he can mess with her like this. She might not meddle with Mithos once he leaves the house and finds his own as he ordered, but she'll make him pay dearly for his comments.]

[Damnit. Damnit damnit damnit. He can't play humble now and if he refuses because he's 'lazy' Zelda will just beg or Mithos will be annoyed. The fact that the other Seraph acknowledged his cooking skills at all likely means he wants the Chosen to make something. Or if the smirk is any indication, it means he wants Zelos to wait on him. Figures. It's all about power, isn't it. Power over the situation, power over people, power over him in particular. Megalomaniacal prick.

Of course all this just goes on in his head. Outwardly, Zelos adopts a smug grin.]

Well I guess I can whip something up! I don't blame you for wanting to sample my perfect cuisine. [He heaves an exaggeratedly affected sigh.] It's such a burden being this amazing~

[He sweeps into the kitchen theatrically and starts getting things together to make some savory crepes, listening to every word that comes wafting in from the dining room with every ounce of attention he can spare.]

[ Mithos watches Zelos run off. He's gotten better at hiding how he was actually feeling, Mithos had to give him that. He couldn't read him nearly as well as he usually could.

Taking another bite of the pie, Mithos smiled back at Zelda. ]

So, tell me more about the Hylians.

[ She had mentioned before that the closest thing to a Hylian in other worlds were elves, though that meant that they weren't exactly alike, either. ]

Where do you come from? Are you magical?

Yes, I am capable of using magic. Many Hylians are, in fact. Whether that is because Hyrule is where the goddesses descended or simply because we are in tune with mana, I am not sure.

[Zelda smiles, closing her eyes. Hyrule.]

Hyrule is located north of the equator of Demari, my world. It is said to be the chosen land of the goddesses. The palace and the capital are situated against the foot of the mountains at the northern end of the country. The tallest of the mountains is known as Death Mountain. In the past it was a highly active volcano, but now it is quiet for the most part. There has only been one eruption in the past two hundred years, and it was a minor one. We believe that the presence of the Gorons has calmed the volcano significantly. The Gorons are creatures that appear to be made of rock, they are large and round. [She laughs thinking of them.] They are very friendly, though their size can be intimidating. They travel by rolling across the terrain much like boulders and their patron goddess is Din, the goddess of power.

Over the centuries the eruptions from the volcano made the land extremely fertile; Hyrule is a lush, green country. If you were to head south away from the capital you would find a vast plain known as Hyrule Field. Creatures of all sorts make their homes there, including my people, Hylians. You can find migrating deku scrubs selling their wares, the ranch at the center that produces nearly all of the dairy products for the country, peahats, kobolds... it is a crossroads. If you head east out of the field, you will come to Zora's domain.

[Zelda lets out a small humming sound.] Zora's doman is beautiful. It is a watery paradise, not unlike you would expect Vatheon to be. The Zora are indigenous to the area, they are a fishlike race of people and highly intelligent. Of course, that is to be expected since the goddess they prefer is Nayru, the goddess of wisdom.

If you head southeast from the field, you will come to the Kokiri Forest. It is an enchanted forest, watched over by the Great Deku tree and its children. Their goddess of choice is Farore, the goddess of courage. It is said that those who are not pure of heart will become lost in the forest. Many of Hyrule's fairies make their home there, as well.

Finally, at the far southern end of Hyrule rests Lake Hylia. Zora's domain drains into it, and it is considered sacred to them. They even have an underwater temple in the center of the lake. Many Hylian villages are scattered along its shores as well.

[She continues to describe the rest of the country with great vigor, gesturing wildly with her hands to indicate the size and shape of things and looking reverent when she described the magic of the land. There's no doubt about it - Zelda loves her land deeply. Curiously, despite the variety of races she describes, there's not one mention of a serious racial conflict. It seems that the various peoples of Hyrule live in peace for the most part.]

[ Mithos listened patiently to Zelda. He was particularly interested in the Zoras, the way she described them; he wouldn't mind meeting one sometime. Though, he did notice the lack of racial tensions in her world; he thought at first that maybe she had just neglected to mention it, but the more she talked, the more he realized that her world was relatively peaceful. There were the Gerudos, but they sounded like an offshoot of Hylians; another ethnicity rather than another race entirely. But even Zelda didn't seem to hate them. Wary, possibly, but not hateful. ]

Your world sounds... peaceful.

[ Why can't his own world be that way, too. ]

It has been so for generations. We all need each other, after all. The goddesses have decreed that we should stand united.

[Pain flickers across her face for a moment, only to be replaced by a gentle smile.]

There are... individuals who would seek to take everything for themselves, but with the help of the hero we fought them off. There is little that can't be accomplished if people put in an effort together.

[She isn't talking only to Mithos, here.]

[ A long, slow sigh. ]

Half-elves tried everything to be accepted by humans. We even fought to end a war that threatened to destroy the entire world. They killed my sister for our efforts because humans didn't want to give up control over the mana flow.

All of the humans? Surely some of them were willing to see reason. People act as individuals, after all.

[It's an innocent enough question. She genuinely can't imagine an entire race deciding to up and kill someone, after all. If Mithos seems adamant, she'll back down for now.]

They had four thousand years to prove me wrong, and they did the opposite every single time. I gave up on my sister's dream of a world with mutual love and respect. The only way for that to happen is for everyone to become the same.

[ He's clearly getting upset at the topic, so he takes a deep breath, getting a grip on himself. ]

I wanted to be proven wrong, but I wasn't. And I don't think I ever will be.

Four thousand - ?!

[Yes, she's visibly startled now. Her ears shoot downwards in a comical expression of surprise. Zelos had said he was over four thousand years old, yes, but hearing it out of Mithos's mouth...]

Human lives must seem very short to you.

[Short to the point of being worthless, even. What a lonely existence.]

[ So... elves weren't immortal. Or rather, Hylians weren't. ]

They do. I was hoping that would lead to humans accepting half-elves in time, but they didn't.

[ And he's conveniently neglecting that the Desians might have had something to do with that. ]

They fear what they don't understand.
