[ By the time Mithos arrives, he's soaked and looks like a drowned kitten. Coughing up lung-fulls of water, he sputters something about 'Pronyma' and being stupid. When he first arrives, it looks at first like he's someone else entirely, before reverting to this form; his child form. The change happens too quickly for anyone to tell that he was just in the form of Lord Yggdrasill; he just looks like a glowy ball. ]

P-Pronyma, what are you-- [ Cough, cough. By the time he finally gets up, he looks dazed, still disoriented, and still trying to steady his breathing. The Cruxis Crystal may mean he doesn't need food or sleep, but he still needs to breathe. The explosions of stars in his eyes gone, he looks up at the coral, clutching his side, where he had been hit by a Demon Fang earlier after having fought Lloyd's party in his Yggdrasill form only one day earlier; they had fared better than their first time around (despite still losing), and actually landed a few noteworthy hits on him. He still hadn't recovered from that, and another Demon Fang on an already sore spot was quite painful. ]

Wha... where am I?

[ Rodyle's Human Ranch? No, not unless Rodyle embezzled Desian funds to COMPLETELY RENOVATE THE ENTIRE RANCH WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION. This... this was something else entirely. ]

[ That confirms what he thought. Colette knows who he is, but Lloyd doesn't. Zelos already does, and he doesn't know about Raine. ]

If you know who I am, why are you being so damn friendly?

[ He tried to kill you, and was going to turn you into Martel. He fought the party twice, nearly killed Yuan and Altessa, and killed Tabitha. Why so nice, Colette? ]

I'm supposed to be your enemy.

[Colette blinks and gives a tiny smile.]

I know that we're enemies back home, but there's no point to fighting here. And besides, you haven't tried to hurt anyone.

[The fact that he just arrived has nothing to do with that last statement- he could've tried to attack her and he didn't, that has to mean something. Or at least she hopes it means something. She doesn't think telling him that he's dead and Martel is still sort of around as part of a spirit is a good idea, so she makes a note to keep that hidden from him as long as she can.]

I liked it you were our friend, Mithos. We didn't want to fight you after that, especially Genis.

I only care about two things, and that's getting my sister back and making sure I can't lose her again.

[ He sort of snapped back at her, immediately feeling defensive. A sort of cognitive dissonance with him. She's his enemy, she and her party were fighting to stop him from bringing his sister back, and creating a world without the hatred of humans. They weren't friends. They couldn't be. Right? ]

And I won't stop until it happens.

[She knew that he wouldn't stop, that he wouldn't ever give up, that Martel was all he would admit to caring about. She knew it. And since all they ever wanted was the exact same thing, a world without discrimination, it hurt. She knew his plan wouldn't work, but she didn't have the heart to tell him right now. Their plan might not work either, but it's worth the chance. It wouldn't hurt anyone, their way. His would hurt people, it had hurt people. And that was how he wanted to make sure he couldn't lose Martel again. That's what she didn't- couldn't -accept.

She gives him a sad almost smile.]

I know. She doesn't want to take someone else's body away from them though; she gave me back mine after she spoke to you again.

[She doesn't know what time he's from, but she does expect him to fly into a rage at that. That wasn't her purpose, but...she needed to tell him. Martel didn't want him to do what he did and he needed to know.]

[ He doesn't respond at first. He gives that a moment to sink in. She doesn't want to -- no. No, that just means he didn't use the right one. She wanted a different body, one that... one that was more like hers. Right? ]

You... you failed.

[ That was it. Martel just doesn't want hers. She wants her own body. Right? ]

Y-Yeah. She doesn't want a human body. She doesn't want to be a filthy inferior being!

[Mithos...She notices how similar this is to when he thought Martel rejected him and gave her her body back. She shakes her head.]

You said that then too. She doesn't want anyone else to suffer to bring her back, Mithos. She just wants to see you be Mithos again, like you were back then, instead of Lord Yggdrasil.

[She knows she's talking to a brick wall, but she can't stop telling him now. The words keep pouring out; what she felt when Martel had been in her body while she herself was in the crystal completely and what she saw. She started out calm and steadily got more animate, insistent, and a little louder while she speaks.]

She wants to see her little brother again and for you to stop hurting people to get her back. She wants you to help everyone stop fighting so that all the races can live in harmony. I'm not sure you realized that the Desians made people hate half-elves more, not less. I understand that you hate humans and elves because of what they did but because of Desians, most of what had been Sylvarant before we rejoined the worlds hates half-elves. I know that's a place for half-elves to be accepted and get revenge while protecting themselves, but the only thing that can happen when someone is focused on hating something or someone is more hate.

[She takes a deep breath, finally able to stop talking. She can't just leave it like that.]

She wants you to be like you were. She loves you and it hurt her to see what you did all those years. That's what she told me when she was in my body.

[She's quiet now. She knows Mithos won't take what she said well, but she had to say it.]

[ His first inclination is to attack her, right then and there, but he doesn't do so. On one hand... it's entirely believable that Martel hates to see what he's become, but he doesn't want to believe it. Humans killed her. They dashed her hopes of a world without discrimination. She helped save their world, and they killed her for it. He starts shaking, his hands balling up into fists, looking down to avoid eye-contact with the Chosen. He wants to get angry, to shut her up, to call her a liar. But for some reason... he believes her. As much as he doesn't want to, he believes her. ]

Humans will never accept us.

[ It's all he can bring himself to say, his voice cracking and breaking, tears starting to stream down his cheeks, his teeth grit. ]

Martel saved their world and they thanked her by killing her. If that's not good enough for them, nothing is. The only way they'll ever accept us is if we all become the same.

[ It's going to take a bit more than that to get through to him. ]

We accepted you! I was a Chosen and people might not consider me to be human because of that, but we all accepted Genis and the Professor even though it took some of us longer than others. Almost all of us accepted you when we thought you were just a boy named Mithos too.

[She didn't mean to make him cry, but now she was crying too. She refuses to look away from him, even though she knew she can't touch him to try to help him stop crying without him attacking her. She can still speak clearly, and she's grateful for that. ]

And I hope the humans, elves, trolls, and all the other races here will accept you too.

[She pauses and wipes her eyes. She hesitates, then asks her question. It's definitely not the best time but...She looks down.]

Apart from Kratos, Yuan, the human who actually killed her and you, did anyone know she saved the world?

Tell that to the half-elves who have to live on Exire.

[ A village he put together with Maxwell who half-elves who didn't want to join the Desians. Of course, he wasn't going to force them to join the Desians, so he built them a floating city, and that was the one pact he honored for the most part. Maxwell had his eternal gratitude for that. ]

You're a group of Chosen. You don't know what they -- we have to go through.

[ Still shaking a bit, he didn't even bother to answer her question. It was obvious. And to him, irrelevant. ]

I know not everyone accepts them Mithos. But living in a floating city doesn't help them start to accept you. It makes you distant and strange and to be afraid of, at least that's how most humans would think of it.

[She knows that. That's why she looks sad.]

According to the mayor of Iselia, I was a monster whose only purpose was dying to save Sylvarant. He was one of those who made it so no one was my friend until I met Lloyd. I might not have gone through the same thing you did, but I didn't live like a human either.

[ He says that after she makes both of her points. ]

That's why the can't-- that's why they don't deserve to live with us!

Then why don't you show them that you're really not all that different? At least here. There are humans that can use magic and no one ages, so there isn't any difference between half-elves, elves, and humans here!

[She wants him to make friends here. And she doubts he'll ever speak to her again after this.]

Deserving or not, they do live among each other.

I saved their world. Compassion doesn't get any stronger than that. They thanked me by killing my sister.

[ He's almost completely ignoring her request for him just to be nice here. Just like he tried to rationalize what she said about Martel. ]

Anyway, everything's free here apart from what's in the Nostalgia Nook. Things that are there you have to pay for using tokens. It's only things from your own world that are in there, and only things you can buy on your own world.

[ Mithos' obviously hostile and angry tone softens as she says that. Slowly, he begins to relax. Wiping a few tears from his eyes, his breathing steadies somewhat. ]

What kinds of things?

Gels and panacea bottles are there, and some weapons. If you could buy it in our world or another foreigner's world, it's probably in there somewhere.

[ He's finally getting a grip on himself. ]

The Eternal Sword might be able to get us home. I need to get it back somehow.

I don't think that'll show up there, but it's worth a look. It's one of a kind after all.

If you find somewhere that doesn't have anyone already living in it or you find somewhere with someone you know that doesn't mind you living with them, you can just start living there. This place is really simple. There's an island that's only accessible by an elevator too.
