[After a whole evening of fighting, Yami finally relinquishes something - an orb of light that was ripped from Amaterasu. It's the power of Bloom, and it finds its host in leu of Amaterasu.

There is hope, now. With the power of bloom, the core can be exposed and progress can be made in this fight. Cooperation is key, and timing is crucial.

↪ Last leg of the First Form. In the morning, Yami's first form struggles to hold on. Bloom, Rejuvenation, and Power Slash are released.

↪ The Second Form. After a long battle, the sun should be rising... but there's a shroud of darkness over the sky, and Yami changes shape instead of succumbing to defeat. With aid of the brush gods, Cherry Bomb, Waterspout, and Crescent are released.

↪ The Third Form. Crescent summons the spirit of a warrior, known to Amaterasu as Nagi, that slices Yami in two. Yami roars, but changes yet again. It's around midday, yet still pitch dark... but there's light illuminating the casino-like panels on Yami. When the right panels are struck, Galestorm, Inferno, and Veil of Mist are released.

↪ The Fourth Form. The sun should be setting now, and the darkness grows darker. Yami assumes a more powerful form, that's extremely mobile and even more dangerous. For the persistent and the brave, as well as the large number of freed Brush Gods, they will deal a fair blow. Catwalk, Thunderstorm, and Blizzard are released. With all 12 free, it should be a cake walk, right?

As the hour reaches midnight, the darkness reaches a peak. Yami shifts into its final form, casting all into impenetrable darkness. Its shell is perfectly guarded, and until the dark is lifted, Yami is invincible. Only a miracle can save you now...]

[He had no idea how long he'd been at it. It was probably partly because he'd been too damn proud to step down that Shinjiro was still here, sometimes coughing from the exhaustion that was catching up with him. Tch. Always scolding the others not to overdo themselves, and here he was, axe in his hand, his beloved coat torn at some pieces, blood on both his forehead and hands. His knuckles had since turned white from clutching his weapon for so long.

Yet he still stood there, trying to dent this thing and stop it from causing more damage. He'd be there until he'd become too weak. But that problem was rearing its ugly head much more louder now...he had to put his weapon down to catch a breath or two.]

Tch...What a tough bastard...

[Lucky that Shinji wasn't the only one fighting. Yami is struck, and something finally releases - an orb of light, a ray of hope. The first of three orbs. It hovers, momentarily, before floating to Shinji and merging with his body.

It's an exhilirating feeling, being restored and empowered. In his mind, three adorable monkeys appear, and give Shinji the knowledge of how to open the Divine Scroll, and draw the various Brush Techniques.

Shinji will change, and with Yami knocked out, the perfect opportunity presents itself.]

[WHAT IS IT WITH THE ADORABLE THINGS Okay, he seriously had no idea what was going on, but suddenly his entire body felt like he'd just slept straight for 24 hours. Shinji's condition is at BEST.

Then the monkeys appeared...and that's when it got all weird. Scrolls and powers and did they say something about flowers? He's suddenly thrown right back into reality with Yami knocked out, looking down at his changed hands...can he even call upon his Persona in this state? More importantly, will it sprout flowers too?]

The hell am I supposed to do, beat his ass with flowers?

[...you know what? That might work. Where there are flowers, there are also roots. Maybe if he can cover the thing with hundreds of them, who knows how it worked or if he could grow some trees...worth a try, right? Here goes nothing...

He doesn't even notice the flowers blooming behind him at first.]

SHINJI!

[Akihiko struggles across the beach. What happened to his best friend? What the hell is going on here period? This strange black ball is one hell of an opponent.

...Flowers?

Beautiful flowers begin to bloom around him, rising up out of the sand.]

[DID YOU SEE THAT AKI? FLOWERS. THERE ARE FLOWERS FOLLOWING HIM.

...yeah he's cursing slightly when he finally notices, but keeps going with the flow... or is that the flow..er...]

[Dude, you're alive. He doesn't want to compromise that. But they both promised to protect what's dear to them, and those people are on this very beach.

[He's about to say something at his hesitation to force him into it, but it looks like Aki resolves it by himself. Tch. Almost like old times...he should make a comment about that, but it just isn't his style. Shinjiro simply nods back and makes a running start towards him, using his friend's help to launch himself at the orb. This is probably one of the more daring things he's done, but at this point it's not thinking about what you do, but JUST DO SOMETHING. Especially when you're suddenly powered by...monkeys...]

[...and as he leaves, Aki gets covered in flowers Sorry he can't do jack shit about that....]

[Akihiko helps get him up into the air, down on one knee as he helps heave Shinjiro up into the air. A shower of flowers and their petals fall on top of him. Just what exactly happened to Shinjiro? Did Castor gain power and change like the others' personas had? Or was it something else?

He'd ask about it later. Right now, he remains nearby, ready to summon Polydeuces to heal him should he need it.]

[Yami remains knocked out in a tizzy, but the imagery comes to Shinji's mind - draw a circle around the bulb-like shell, and it will open and expose the core to attack...]

[What was he doing. WHAT WAS HE DOING. He seriously had no idea, but before he could really think about it, he'd already moved his hands the exact way that circle needed to be drawn.

Something happened. The harden shell which was giving them so much trouble began to open up like a...like a...flower.

...he was never gonna get used to this. Still, Shinjiro manages to turn back to Akihiko again, knowing he probably saw what happened. must resist making another did you see that joke.]

Alright, Aki, attack that thing!

[Considering how the other SEES member was with punching, this would surely be a winning combo. Very much like the axe HE was now using.]

[Mitsuru's standing by the side, watching. Shinjiro with flowers. This was new. And now she's recording for future use on her SFC. Not broadcasting, just capturing the moment. Just in case she needed it later.]

Let's go, Polydeuces!

[Akihiko aims the Evoker at his head to summon Polydeuces, and together they wind up and give Yami a rather powerful punch.]

[KER-BLAM! Yami jolts from the impact, a crack forming on the glass core. It mends itself, as the fleshy animal in the middle defends itself, but it's definitely doing an incredible amount of damage. The core eventually retaliates, shooting a lazer out before retreating into its shell again.]

[FINALLY some progress. That hurt and he knew it. Despite himself, Shinji cracks a small smile as he continues to run around, desperately trying to ignore the flowers that just sprout behind him. If they can do this a few more times they might just be able to weaken him enough for...oh shit he did not expect the laser.]

DUCK!

[And he tries to push Aki out of the way.]

[Akihiko doesn't expect the laser, but Shinjiro's a step ahead of him. He gets pushed into the soft sand successfully.

While he'd love to punch that thing in the guts again, maybe a distanced attack is better.]

Shinji! Can you make it open again?

[Not until it's knocked out and defenseless, he won't. The orb bounces up, attempting to smash down on Akihiko before he can scramble back up.]

I summon thee! Mabufudyne!

[It's the quick action of sweeping the evoker to her head that stops Akihiko getting crushed as Mitsuru summons a massive block of ice inbetween the orb and Akihiko. She shoots him a look as if to say get out of the way before rushing to a safe distance.]

[And even if he doesn't, Junpei sprints up and grabs him by the collar to drag Akihiko away.]

Yo, Senpai! This ain't a game of beach volleyball!

[Trismegistus, being the graceful thing it is, Kill Rushes at Yami to further distract.

...Junpei, however, does offer an apologetic look to his senior for the undignified exit.] You okay?

H-hey!

[All Akihiko can see is a giant block of ice obstruct his view of Yami, and then all he can feel is the bump on his backside from getting dragged away by Junpei. Geez, he'd have moved. If he knew he couldn't match the force of the giant black maltball thing, which he didn't.

But it's for the best. He staggers up, favoring the better leg.]

I'm fine. I need to try and hit it!

[Kneeling, Akihiko summons Polydeuces again, aiming a Zionga attack at the enemy; a decent-powered bolt of lightning flies at the big, black sphere.]

[Good, Aki was out of the way. Maybe if he wasn't Shinjiro he'd been thanking Mitsuru and Junpei, but instead he turned his anger on the source of what could have killed his friend, and pulls out his Evoker.]

CASTOR!

[He points the modified gun to his head and it thankfully goes off as usual, unchained even by his new powers. However, it's appearance...is not quite the same. Persona are parts of one's inner self, after all, and since Shinjiro looks different...



...so does Castor. It takes him a good second in shock (was that a crown of flowers on his neck oh for fu--) before Shinjiro even gets him to unleash a Deathbound on it. The devastating piercing attack is aimed at the giant sphere to distract it more than harm, as he looks for another of those buds he can open and--pause again as he can only watch Castor move, a wave of flowers blooming as he attacks as well.

...he would never get used to this.]

[Mitsuru had never seen this Persona. She quickly turned and focused her and Artemisia's attention to... Castor? It looked Castor but it looked completely different and more flowers! All the flowers blooming everywhere. She took another quick snap with her SFC before slipping it back into her pocket and continuing the assault. Or in her case, support]

Diarahan!

[Now that's out of the way, she directed the healing skill to Akihiko.]

[The blow from Castor's Deathbound, combined with the steady onslaught of other attacks, gives Shinji the chance to bloom and open the shell once more, and gives them a chance for an All Out Attack.]
