Who: Trunks and anyone
Where: Beach, up on the island, opposite side from the village.
When: Early morning
Style: Action/I don't really care
Status: Open!
[Trunks' evening hadn't been very restful. After Gohan's arrival--and the anger he'd felt--he'd retreated to the island. With the offer of his house for Gohan to use, he hadn't been able to go there to be alone.
His jacket was still damp from dew, he'd slept out underneath the stars for the first time he could remember in quite a while. It hadn't been restful sleep, he'd woken up stiff and sore both in mind and body.
Now with the sun climbing higher in the sky, he was moving up and down the beach, going through exercises with and without his sword. It was calming, familiar--even if he seemed to do it a lot lately.]

Why do you use a weapon like that when you are far more deadly on your own?
no subject
...and well isn't that the guy he came up here specifically to avoid thinking about, dammit. Foiled again.]
...I don't know. It just feels right, I guess.
no subject
[Vegeta eyes the sword, considering doing so himself. Fighting is no time to get sentimental, Trunks. Do it right.]
no subject
Speaking of the sword, Trunks sighs and puts it back in its scabbard.]
It's not that easy to break. Besides, I don't use it all the time. Practicing with it just helps me think.
no subject
Think, hmm. Is this about that man that just arrived?
[Vegeta's shamelessly on the prowl for information, don't mistake this as a talk about feelings or anything like that!]

Gohan was edging past bored and into worried. He'd replaced what he'd taken from Trunks' cupboards, found a few books, and kept careful track of Trunks' ki as the day went on. He'd improved greatly, and Gohan was immeasurably proud of him.
He was also still out of sorts. Just a bit. While he wanted to give Trunks room to brood, he was also beginning to wonder if it wouldn't be better just to beat it out of the kid.
Or else see if Trunks was capable of beating it out of him now.
He took off mainly because he wanted to offer an olive branch. Because he didn't want them to be on bad terms if something happened again. And because he'd spent the last thirteen years wishing for another chance to speak with his father, teacher, and friends, and didn't want to spend the rest of Trunks's (hopefully long) life wanting that same thing from him.
His ki was, of course, extremely noticeable while flying, and he hovered a polite distance away, giving Trunks a chance to bolt if he wanted it. He'd speak once he was sure Trunks wasn't going to run.]

Four years had cemented a tendency to withdraw in Trunks, it was easier not to talk about how he felt because either he didn't think others would understand or he didn't want to burden them with his issues.
...that and he's a teenager and those can be moody sometimes.
When he felt Gohan's ki spike and approach, he did debate moving. But it wouldn't do much good and he couldn't avoid him forever. Didn't really want to either.
He slowed in his movements, and then stopped, sheathing his sword and turning to look straight at Gohan, wordlessly. Well, you coming down here or not?]

And taking a fighting stance.]
Think you should keep training?
what gohan your arms don't grow back?
If you wanted to see what I've learned, you could've just asked.

He crosses his arms and leans back against a nearby tree for a short while, just observing, before he speaks.]
Want an opponent? [They had planned on doing this at some point, after all.]
no subject
He was used to training alone, but doing so with someone else would definitely be helpful, and he had talked to him about it before.]
Sure.

Just swords for now? You look like you're working through something. [He couldn't help but recognize that look.]
I just had a terrible hilarious idea
I just had a bit of a surprise last night.
[He smiles slightly, shaking his head.]
But yeah, that sounds good.

She was currently walking through the beach, her tail swishing a bit. The moment the winged Gear noticed someone exercising in a distant, she backed away slightly, wondering what to do.
After a longer moment of hesitating the Gear decided to finally approach the other.]
H-hello.

...those were interesting wings.]
Hello.

Do you practice here often?

You're not bad.

When he spoke, though, Trunks stopped what he was doing and turned to face him, looking slightly embarrassed.]
Thanks.

[Moving closer, Aya looked at the sword without actually reaching out to take it. A sword was a sacred object to a fighter.]
How long have you been using it?
no subject
[And the fact that he can sense people's energy helps a lot. If Aya asked, he would turn the weapon over, though--he's not afraid of it being turned against him, why would he be if he could catch the blade?]
About three years.

He makes the point at which he stops look natural, but the way he immediately turns to face Yukari probably indicates that he was aware she was there the entire time.]
Nice morning, isn't it?
no subject
[Technically, they haven't met before, so they don't really recognize each other. But Yukari's a sociable enough person, luckily, so this isn't too far out of her comfort zone.]
I didn't mean to interrupt you. [There's a reason she didn't say anything.]
no subject
It's fine. I was about done anyway.
[That's a lie, he could go for hours yet, but Aya might have work for him to do. He picks up his jacket and ties it around his waist--at least it's dry now.]
