The big troll reunion thing.
Characters: Kanaya Maryam, Karkat Vantas, Feferi Peixes, anybody else up on the island at the time
Location: The Island
Time: March 2nd, early evening. After She arrived here and after pretty much all the conversations here
Style: Action or Prose, I'll follow your lead / preference.
Status: quasi-open? If you're there you're there.
The elevator finally came to a stop after it's long journey. The doors opened, releasing a single passenger. The glowing troll had arrived just in time to see the last of the sun dip away. Oh well. Karkat should be here to meet her shortly, and Feferi would be here soon as well, along with who knows who else.

It seems you persist in showing up unexpectedly, Vriska.
no subject
Going to see Vantas?
no subject
[Looks her over quickly. Obviously she's being affected by the curse, but if she's going to ignore it Kanaya won't stop her. She knows Vriska too well for that.]
I take it you won't be sticking around?
no subject
[She shrugs. Looks like Kanaya was going to be odd around her, just as she figured. Vriska wasn't sure how she felt on the whole situation just yet. Not everyone knew she was dead back home.]
no subject
[She was being odd. How could she not? So much had happened since they last talked face to face, even if she had not died things would have been pretty awkward... And here she is, face to face after all that, and she's going off on some dangerous trip for no other reason than boredom. It would take some time before things between them were anything like normal again, and right now, here in this weird place, Kanaya didn't feel up to the effort of pretending that this wasn't all getting to her.]
It's good to see you Vriska.
no subject
Yeah... Well it's good to see that stupid clown didn't do you in or anything! That would have been a waste.
no subject
Yeah.
[Nothing but awkward silence]
I suppose you should go... If you stay here much longer you'll have to explain to Karkat where you're going. I doubt he'll be pleased with you taking another reckless charge into harms way.
[And yet Kanaya is doing nothing to stop her...]

"Kanaya! You made it! Hiii!" Kitty troll incoming!
Re: since this is dated to the 2nd Karkat's still under the effect of the last curse
"Nepeta." Bring on the tacklehugs, catgirl. The rainbow drinker is ready.

"I'm so happy to see you again!! Are you okay? Have you met the others yet? Did Summoner go and meet you?" The questions poured out of her in a torrent as she looked up at the taller troll, looking rather silly with her kitty hood knocked askew from all the pouncing. But aside from the silliness she looked happy and in good health, not at all like a troll who'd died back home. That didn't mean she didn't know, though, having actually lived through her death right before arriving here. She'd just had enough time to work through it.
I realized none of my icons showed Kanaya as happy. In my search for some, I found this :)
"I am fine Nepeta, though perhaps a bit different than when you last saw me. I haven't met many others yet but Karkat and Feferi said they would meet me here. I did not encounter the Summoner and instead made my way here with Karkat's instructions." Kanaya paused, getting a good look at her friend. "You look like you've been doing quite well here."
eee, perfect! /may snag it for her account as well 8D
She bounced on the spot in her excitement, before realizing she'd been asked a question. "Oh, yes, yes, I have! At furst I wasn't but now I'm furry comfurtable and happy here."
I thought you'd like it :)

She tilted her head up at Kanaya, thoughtful. Hmmm. "What did you think of her?" Of course she wasn't prying for information. She'd never!
...well, maybe a little.
no subject
"Alright," she started, looking around to see if Karkat was nearby yet. "But when Karkat arrives we did not talk about this, OK? He already gave me a lecture about it on the way here and I would rather avoid a repeat performance in person." Kanaya sighed and checked around one more time. "When I first saw her I... I don't know. I was interested in her clothing I guess, because it was so unique and I've never met another troll who would wear something so... beautiful. When I realized that she was The Demoness, the handmaid of death... I wasn't afraid. I was intrigued. Our conversation was strange and succeeded best at convincing me that I should talk with her more."
Kanaya looked somewhat embarrassed. She had't had much time to think about the encounter, fielding text messages from her friends the whole way here. "I told Karkat that I thought she was... alluring. He overreacted, but at the same time I don't think he was that far off."
ljsdals this tag never got to me :|| Sorry
Hey, it's cool. If I wasn't lazy with my tags I would have bugged you on plurk or something :D

Besides, that was just before your big shipping wall fiasco. I understand. :D
OH YEAH that post totally ate my time and brain for a few days
Yeah, I figured! What's it at, 1100+ now? Crazy.

since this is dated to the 2nd Karkat's still under the effect of the last curse
[If there's any delay, it's in typing as her walks, and a sort of apprehension. He's glad enough to get to see her again, sure; she is a good friend, and he hasn't changed that view. But for one thing, talking's going to be a little odd. He's already typed a message of explanation on his SFC, unsent, to show her when he sees her. For another, there's a prominent scar across his neck, and not just from some scratch. Explaining that won't be so cheery.]
[When he spots her and nears, he therefore ducks his chin a bit, and holds up the SFC first thing when he's close enough for her to read it.]
I'VE LOST MY VOICE THIS WEEK AND LITERALLY CAN'T SPEAK.
I'LL BE FINE IN A COUPLE DAYS, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT.
no subject
[She took a moment to read the screen suddenly in front of her.]
"Ah. I had heard that the current curse was mostly inconvenient disease symptoms. Good to know that it should pass."
no subject
[He might have been.]
[Either way he pulls the communicator back to type out another message.]
IT'S A PAIN IN THE ASS FRANKLY
LIKE THEY LODGED THIS STICK UP MY WASTE CHUTE SO FAR IT HIT MY THROAT AND KNOCKED OUT ANYTHING VOCAL SO HARD THAT ALL I GET IS THIS HOARSE WORDLESS RASP WHEN I OPEN MY MOUTH.
BUT UH
SPEAKING OF THROATS
[His fingers hover over the keys, uncertain, as he decides how to word it.]
DON'T FREAK OUT.
[He lifts it back to let her read, and after a pause for her to take it in, lifts his chin to show the scar. It's not the easiest thing to do, the movement hesitant, his posture stiff, but it's better to get it out of the way.]
no subject
"I wasn't going to say anything, but I did notice that. You... don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."
[She DID want to know, but concern for her friend easily outweighed her curiosity. She knew Karkat. Something like that might be quite a touchy subject. He's probably only bringing attention to it because they're good friends.]
no subject
THEN I'LL PUT IT THIS WAY.
YOU REMEMBER HOW I SAID DEATH IS IMPERMANENT?
THIS ISN'T HOW I FOUND OUT, BUT IT'S PROOF OF THE CONCEPT.
AND FROM THERE GOING INTO THE DETAILS ISN'T SOMETHING I ACTUALLY WANT TO DO, BUT AS A MATTER OF SAFETY AND GENERALLY TELLING PEOPLE WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW, I WILL SAY THIS MUCH
DON'T TRUST A HUMAN CHICK WITH LONG PINK HAIR AND PINK EYES NAMED YUNO.
NO MATTER HOW NICE SHE MIGHT TRY TO ACT, SHE'S A PSYCHOPATHIC MURDEROUS FREAK
AND SHE IS DANGEROUS EVEN WITH MUNDANE OBJECTS.
OTHERWISE I'D RATHER JUST MOVE PAST THE WHOLE THING INASMUCH AS I CAN.
no subject
[On that note, time to change the topic! She looks around a bit, sweeping an arm out in a vague gesture at the island in general.]
"I assume that living up here is a temporary measure, or that there are some sort of structures further into this forest. What is the situation here regarding Hives?"
no subject
[His gaze follows her gesture, and he follows it up with a point of his own, before typing an answer.]
THERE'S AN ABANDONED VILLAGE THAT WAY WHICH SERVES FINE ENOUGH FOR THE PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES.
OTHERWISE THERE'S HIVES AND COMMUNAL HIVESTEMS IN THE CITY BELOW, OR HOUSES AND APARTMENTS AS THE HUMANS CALL THEM, WHICH AS ALREADY STATED ARE FREE TO LIVE IN.
ONCE WE GET THE GRAND HIGHBLOOD DEALT WITH AND CAN ACTUALLY GO BACK DOWN THERE AGAIN, YOU'LL JUST NEED TO PICK A PLACE AND TALK TO WHOEVER'S IN CHARGE OF IT.
WORD OF ADVICE: NOT LARMLINE APARTMENTS. YUNO LIVES THERE LAST I KNEW.

[Or was it? Kanaya certainly would like to know where she could find the Handmaid, though for her own lodgings she would probably choose for the architecture and space, not because it happened to be near someone she had a single conversation with, no matter how interesting she was.]

sorry for how late this is
It's fine, don't worry about it :)
this seems like a good place to trail off unless she's got anything else important to talk about
Sounds good to me. I think we've covered nearly anything important.
