The elevator finally came to a stop after it's long journey. The doors opened, releasing a single passenger. The glowing troll had arrived just in time to see the last of the sun dip away. Oh well. Karkat should be here to meet her shortly, and Feferi would be here soon as well, along with who knows who else.

...I just realized that you never told me what point you came here from. I just assumed you came from close to my time period because you seemed to understand my response when you asked me about my situation.

ANYWAY, BY THE TIME THEY TOOK ME BACK HERE, I HAD PACIFIED GAMZEE OUT OF HIS MURDER RAGE AND JUST FINISHED A CONVERSATION WITH JOHN
WHO WAS ABOUT TO SET OFF THE SCRATCH.

[Kanaya reads quickly, and nods.]

Then I am from further up our timeline than you, but from what I understand of the mechanics of this place, it shouldn't matter what I spoil. We successfully got to the location of the green sun as planned. The sun was there, it's a long story. We met Dave, Rose, and surprisingly Aradia and another Sollux. When the time was right we launched the meteor away from the green sun, but Aradia and Sollux stayed behind. I wanted to stay there myself, because I had been without the sun for so long in the veil. From what I can tell sunlight is beneficial to me in my new state. I've only been a rainbow drinker for a handful of hours from my perspective so I really don't understand everything about it yet.

[Karkat starts to thumb out a response, but pauses the more she goes on, eyebrows raising partway through. Eventually he goes back and revises, adding more with what new info she's told him.]

I really didn't quite get what the deal was with Sollux there, to be perfectly honest. He and Aradia stayed behind to provide the Meteor a push to our next objective, and to maintain the dream bubbles. They also would delay Jack Noir's pursuit of us. I... hesitated. I had been without the sun for so long, and it felt very good to be there. I think this is a condition of my new state. Rose convinced me to leave the sun though, and continue our journey to the scratched session.

After that John and Jade sent us an unfortunately delivered message through some sort of portal, and another such portal dropped a severely injured dersite at our feet. Aradia and Sollux provided us with a psychic push on our way, and suddenly I was here, covered in water.

I think now you have all the context you need to understand what I was trying to say with regards to spending my time up here in the sun, even though my enjoyment of sunlight was already a thing you knew about me. At least I managed to bring you up to speed on events that are not relevant to this time or place and which you will not remember should you ever return and find that this knowledge had sudden relevance. This conversation is quickly becoming a stunning example of communicative efficiency.

[Again Karkat listens attentively, taking in all information he can. Even if it's been maybe half a year since his last time in the Veil - even then, only as a brief break from the overall year and a couple months in Vatheon - it helps to know this stuff ahead of time. Which just leads to a frown after the end of her words.]

Fine. Sorry. It's starting to become a bit of a habit and I forget that it's mostly a human affectation. I understand your reasoning, even though the events I have detailed for you aren't terribly exciting. We met up, some shenanigans occurred, and we left the sun.

[She was leaving out some rather critical events, but this was carefully calculated. She really didn't think the bucket incident would be relevant, and it wouldn't help her friend at all to know he had a nervous breakdown in front of almost everybody. To be honest, he didn't seem any less stressed than when they were at the green sun, and she really didn't want to increase the chances of a that happening again. ]
