♌ A True Hat-trick - [OPEN]

who: Leo and Anyone
what: hat shenanigans/pranking
when: All week during the curse week starting 6/17.
where: All around Vatheon - starting in the plaza, but feel free to have your character run into him anywhere public.
style: Starting with prose, but will change to match.
status: OPEN

Leo loved a good prank. He hated the last curse, but this one? Was a whole other bag of tricks. Or more accurately a bag of tricky hats. When the mark had glowed last night he hoped he wouldn't be affected by whatever wicked scheme the scientists could come up with to make his (and everyone else's) life hell.

He wasn't expecting this. But oh, was he loving it. The first hat he found was a thinking cap. He was already a pretty good thinker, but the idea of a thinking cap sounded promising, so he put it on and immediately began coming up with the best ideas! (Or what he thought were the best ideas.) He wrote them all down on a pad of paper as they came to him. But one idea stood out from the rest!

See, he had just come across the table in the plaza and it was piled with hats! All sorts of hats! It would be a lot of fun to try them all on. He went to remove the thinking cap to try on a space helmet. He quickly realized that he could not remove it. But, maybe he could put it on someone else. And how awesome of a prank would it be to go around putting these hats on other people? He picked out an array of interesting hats and began putting them into his tool belt.

A supply of hats was necessary to pick from to prank anyone he came across. And surely people would do everything they could to avoid the plaza once they caught wind of the curse, so he needed that supply to be mobile and stealthy.

[ooc: Let me know in an ooc note whether or not you want him to be able to get a hat(s) onto your character. I'm up for both successful and failed pranks as well as your character pranking Leo in return!]

Behind his shades, Dirk rolls his eyes, but he shrugs and puts the can back. "Then your choices consist of a shitton of soda. Or wine if you're enamored of making bad decisions." Dirk, being who he is, goes for the soda, of course.

Dirk nodded, and handed over a bottle of soda, before he grabbed a seat at one of the counter stools. "Well, next time I want to entice you over here, I'll remember the coffee thing."

"Then what do I need to lure you over? Obviously it worked today, but I thought it'd be the robots, which clearly wasn't the case." Dirk opened his own soda, sipping from it as he kept his eyes on Leo.

"I'll keep that in mind if I want to do things the boring way," Dirk said, but he probably would do it, at some point. The asking might be needlessly elaborate, but it would still be asking. "What were you coming back from doing?" he asked. "Since it wasn't getting a rad new outfit."

Dirk doesn't question that. He's spent some of his time walking around Vatheon when he's stuck on a project. Early on, it was usually because of the novelty of having somewhere to walk to. "In that case, here's a standing invitation to stop by if it becomes a common thing."

"What, I couldn't already?" He joked, but smiled anyway. "Thanks, dude, I will. I promise not to mess up your robots, either."

For once, it's a good thing this hipster routine has Leo being so nonchalant, because the moment he pointed it out, it would have disappeared. For the moment, though, Dirk still looks amused, even if he isn't grinning quite so hard. "Well, there's a conundrum," he drawls. "I couldn't go unless I had a permission slip, but I wouldn't have gotten it signed without going over. It's a good thing I have your invitation now."

Tons of work, for someone usually as energetic as Leo. Dirk keeps an eye on him, but unless Leo brings up a new topic of conversation, he'll just finish his soda in silence as he continues his observation.

After a few moments, Dirk starts tapping out a counterpoint to Leo's rhythm, but he's interrupted when he gets up to throw out his soda bottle. "Well, I'll hardly ask you to fuck up all your nice clean clothes, but there's a thing or two I have where a second opinion would be useful. You up for it?"

"C'mon." And rather than head back out to the garage, Dirk flashsteps (instead of walking the way a normal person might) to the edge of the kitchen, gesturing down the hallway for Leo to follow him. "I've got it over here."

The hallway Dirk leads Leo down heads further into the house, and the pillow clutter of the living room abates, left either clean, or just unused. When Dirk stops, it's at the door of one of the bedrooms, and when he opens it, he gestures for Leo to come in behind him. It's pretty obviously his bedroom, from the little orange hat symbol on the door, and the shuriken embedded in it, not to mention the turntables visible against the far wall.

A year's worth of stuff has accumulated in Dirk's, not to mention he's used to living in one place, with no chance of moving. It's why the walls are covered with posters, and his things, although neat, are spread out all over the room.

"No, this is Jane's room," he says, deadpan, as he moves further into the room. "How much do you give a shit about fighting?" he asks finally, as he makes his way over toward a laid out pile of papers.

"Yeah, but are you good at it?" Dirk looks at Leo with his arms crossed. "And do you have any weapons that aren't that bronze shit? It's not going to do you shit if you get into a fight here."
