You Can Learn a Lot of Things from the Flowers

Valentine's week, and Selphie was keeping herself very, very busy working away in the flower shop. It was the busiest time of the year, after all. Selphie will be spending her week keeping the shop clean and tidy, rearranging the stock, tying ribbons and pink decorations to everything. She's even done a commerical, which will basically involve Selphie explaining how super important Valentine's day is, and giving a 360 shot of the front of the store to show off all the pretty bouquets.

Talking to customers, giving recommendations too, has Selphie rushed off her feet all week. She's taking her work seriously. So if you're just passing by, or need help with the right flowers to get your loved one, Selphie will be there to greet you - and she's wearing pink this week too especially, even tied a ribbon in her hair. Some come on down, lovers and friends, get your flowers here!

It was Saint Valentine's Day! Such a day of happiness and love! And Italy sure did enjoy it. Any celebration like this was always fun, and of course Italy was equipped for the occasion.

Selphie was probably busy with work, but Italy was kind of lax with it. Exerting that much energy wasn't always on his agenda (unless it was cooking, because that wasn't really work. it was fun).

"Selphie!" he rang out as he opened the door. "Happy Saint Valentine's Day!" As Italy was equipped for the occasion, he'd brought some wine.

Italy's voice called out and mingled with the jingle of the bell on the door. Selphie looked up swiftly from what she was doing, and quickly dried her hands down the front of her apron, "Hi Italy!"

She laughed, moving out from behind the counter, "Happy Valentine's Day to you, too!"

"when do you get off? I have wine~" he announced. "or we could have wine now~" He did drink wine all the time, but this was some good wine for a good occasion.

Selphie looked at the bottle and laughed, shaking her head, "Well.. I get off for lunch in about ten minutes.." She's hesitant, if only because she likes to keep up her professionalism. "I guess I could maybe have one small glass of wine.. that would be okay." And given the way her tolerance of alcohol has been built up by Kenshin, it probably would be.

"Great!" He could wait 10 minutes. "Then we can get something to eat too!" Pasta sounded good for lunch.

The owner of said flower shop was busy as well, checking orders and making sure they had all the suplies they would need. At times he would run out to restock on things they would run out of, but for the most part, he was inside, making flower arrangements and helping customers. He sleeves were rolled up and he looked a bit disheveled. He had been at this since before he opened the shop.

He was very grateful for all of Selphies help so far. It would help lift the burden of this holiday off his shoulders.

Aya looked over to Selphie, catching her as she passed by really quickly. She was pretty fast on her feet!

"Do we need anything else soon?"

Tee hee hee!

Selphie looked at her boss, blinking as she had to think quick on her feet, "Uh... maybe a couple dozen more roses, some more pink ribbon and..and after that I think you need some tea!"

It was amazing, really, how they were both keeping things running so smoothly. But then, they were both working very hard, and seemed to hold that as important. Still, while she might have been running crazy all day, she reocognised that her Aya could do with a bit of a rest.

At hearing that, Aya blinked, paused what he did, and looked to Selphie. Did he hear that right? More than likely, yes.

"There are more roses in the cooler area in the back, unless we ran out of those, too, the extra pink ribbon is on the top shelf, and...I'll get to the tea soon enough."

When he will take a break was a different story.

Hmm...looked like she was going to have to trick him somehow into taking a break. Selphie grabbed the ribbon and took it through to the very front of the store. She was adding extra curls of ribbon to the bows on the bouquets. But then when the shop was free of customers, she called Aya through to the front.

"Ayaaa! Can you come help me?"

She'd call him through, ask him for some help, then run through to the back and put the kettle on. Hopefully she'd make his tea before he'd finish with the ribbon.

Aya rang up a customer who came to place an order for a couple of days from now before he heard Selphie call out for him. How did she get to the front of the store?

Locking the register, he went over to her, wondering what could be wrong.

"What do you need help with?"

"Happy Valentine's Day, Selphie!" Wallace beamed as he walked into her flower shop. How could he resist by the smells and colours all around him.

"You look radiant today."

Selphie looked up from an order she was finishing for a customer and smiled at Wallace, "Hi! Happy Valentine's Day!" At his compliment she blushed slightly, "Uh...thanks."

"You're welcome. So, did you get many presents and cards from your admirers?" He fished something about behind his back and passed it to her. It was a parcel wrapped up in red paper with a card attached.

Selphie laughed at the idea and shook her head, continuing to finish off what she was doing with a ribbon, "No. I don't get presents on Valentine's day." And she never had. The idea was ridiculous. So when she looked up to see the present she gaped a little, "For me...?"

[It isn't difficult to miss Selphie, especially when she looks so upbeat right now. Since it's been some time since he last saw Selphie, Serph steps into the shop, giving her a nod in greeting.]

*The day before Valentine's day is especially, and Selphie has just gathered up a huge armful of roses when Serph comes in. She peeks out from behind them and smiles, trying to wave*

Hiya Serph! How are ya?

[Serph nods.]

I'm well.

[His gaze go to the roses before he steps forward.]

Would you like aid?

Uh...yes, please. I just gotta put them over there.

*She nods towards a counter at the side of the room, a little lopsided as she starts to drop the some flowers*

[ Valentine's, huh...? Shiemi had only the vaguest idea of what that holiday entailed, but she knew enough that love and couples were involved. And she couldn't help but internally squee at all the couples. And the pretty flowers.

But mostly the flowers.

In any case, she's standing outside of the flower shop now with a curious expression on her face, looking around a bit.

... this was the right place, right? She'll just stand around for a bit outside, so feel free for someone to approach her... ]

*Selphie's singing away to herself as she sweeps petals and leaves from the shop floor. Then she spies the girl standing outside, so she brushes the pile into the corner and rests the broom against the counter.

Selphie opens the door gently and peers round at the girl with a smile*

Hi! You wanna come in and have a look?

Thanks. ^^;

Ah--! Yes, of course! If that's okay...

[ Shiemi nods, quickly strolling inside -- and her eyes light up instantly at all the flowers. She feels like she's in a candy store right now with how she's flitting about the different flowers, smiling. ]

So pretty...

*Selphie smiles and moves out the way, holding the door open for the girl. She watches her go about the shop, appreciating the flowers. And that's really nice to see*

[At the swell of incoming customers, Aya could be seen helping out customers while carrying a rather large bouquet of flowers of all varieties in his arms. From time to time he stops to answer questions on his way to put that bouquet in the cooling room. Once he's free, he continues walking, until he sees a familiar face standing at the entrance to the flower shop. Now why was she standing there...]

[He goes towards her, hoping to catch her attention.]

You must be Shiemi, right?

Y-yes!

[ Shiemi pauses, squeaking a bit before she looks at him -- and recognizes him as one of the people she talked to previously, relaxing visibly. ]

Ah... and you're Aya, right? It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person.

[Aya nods with a small smile] Why are you just standing out there?
