Who: Sufferer and anyone
Where: around the Plaza
When: New Year's Eve, around 7 PM
Status: open!
Style: contemplative

It's New Year's Eve, a holiday somewhat foreign to the trolls, but Sufferer knows enough to recognize it as a solemn, contemplative occasion. At least, that's how he's interpretting it. Or maybe it's just his new outlook on life.

Either way, the evening finds him in the Plaza, moving around it slowly, dreamily, carrying multi-colored paper bags and tea light candles. He sets each bag down carefully, fills it with a little sand or a few stones, and sets a lit candle in it. Those who were here last holiday season might remember him doing something similiar, and the Plaza is slowly filling up with gently flickering light.

It just seems like a good time of year for it.

She laughs a bit. "That would be playing by ear! Here, I'll play it slowly. Once you learn it, you can play it in reverse as well. We call that retrograde." Zelda doesn't demonstrate that much though, instead choosing to play the ballad properly (if quite a bit slower than she did the first time).

"The harp is quite a bit different than the guitar. Would you like me to give it a try? I do have some training with the instrument."

She has at least a little training in most instruments. Being musically adept is quite important to the Hylian royal family. Music seems to be important to their whole society in general, more so than most others - at least, from what she's been able to observe here in Vatheon. People being so baffled at the idea that a song can have magical effects will never cease to amaze her.

"Of course. It is a magical instrument, so take care if you try to play any songs you may have heard me playing before."

The harp has lasted for thousands of years at this point, she's not concerned about someone as gentle as Sufferer possibly breaking it. Zelda swaps instruments with him, checking the tuning of the guitar by playing the first few bars of a Gerudo song she's familiar with. After acclimating to it, she starts to play the ballad again. It's obvious that she's more comfortable with her harp, but she doesn't lack skill with the guitar entirely.

Zelda doesn't know that song, so how silly it is to be playing it on a harp is lost on her.

"You seem to have a knack for stringed instruments! All right, here, I think I've got it."

Slowly, she plays through the ballad again, careful to tilt her body so that it's easy for Sufferer to observe her hands.
