Where: Random Alley, Angelina's House, then Zelda's house.
What: Duke was a kidnap victim! Time to get found.
Status: Closed.

[ Duke wasn't sure where he was, but that really, really didn't matter that much. They were still around, somewhere, waiting. They weren't happy that he remained silent, but Duke didn't care. He refused to make noise louder than the pained notes that made it through his breathing. He won't be bait. He wouldn't let them use him to lure his friends close, he wouldn't...

Even if everything felt like nothing would work, and breathing was a bit of a chore, he wouldn't make a sound. Even if it meant the fires turned to dull, cold aches because there was nothing left to burn.


Of course, the glow leaking off of him would probably attract people, nevermind that he looked different than he normally did. ]

[Very carefully, as if Duke was a small child, Angelina supports him while Zelda treats his torso. This is the last thing they will do to him, and then they will let him rest. Though she suspects Zelda will stay right near him in case he needs something.]

You are doing really well, Duke. Just a little moment more, and then we will leave you be.

[She uses just a little bit of a topical anesthetic on the worst of it, stitching where she has to and doing her best to stabilize his dislocated shoulder and ribs that have been bruised at the very least. The princess works quickly, but accurately. He'll be able to sleep like this.]

There you are. You can get off the rolling cart and into that bed now, if you like.

[The other bed is lower to the floor and has a great deal more fluffy blankets he can hide under.]

[ Wouldn't it be easier to just curl up here?

... but here only has one blanket. ]

[Oh, Duke. She rolls the bed over right next to the stationary bed, then slowly lowers the rolling bed he's in until it's in its flat position. She obliges him with more blankets, even taking a sheet from the bed and draping it over the side to give him a little tent of some sort. She did similar things as a child. It always felt safe.]

[And Angelina takes this as her cue to leave.]

Miss, if you are not in need of further assistance, I should take my leave.

[Though they still have to see about the drugs, but An probably wouldn't be able to do much about it, if she's honest.]

[ Yes, blanket nest-tent is good. Duke will quite quickly curl up in that and have very little hair sticking out of the blankets when he's done.

[Gathering the blood-soaked dressings up, she puts them in a plastic bag and holds them out.]

See if you can find out what sort of drug was used? I would really appreciate it.

[She had managed to collect some blood while they were tending to Duke's wounds.]

Good, let me know if you need anything else. I will take the sample to the laboratory to be analyzed. Though I am afraid the effect might wear off before we find out what sort of drug it was. If he has any other symptoms, let me know and I will come back immediately.

[Zelda's already resigned to not sleeping tonight.]

[She nods, not answering verbally since she doesn't want Duke to hear or even think about the culprit right now. Zelda walks over to the door of the room and holds it open for Angelina.]

I will return your rolling bed tomorrow. Will dropping it off at the clinic be all right?

[She walks to the door and nods.]

That would be fine. I will leave you the medical supplies as well. There are medications for pain, in case he needs them. Should you have any doubts, do not hesitate to contact me.
