16 - Knight Lancer S

Who: Duke, Zelda's household, and Angelina
When: The 3rd
Where: Random Alley, Angelina's House, then Zelda's house.
What: Duke was a kidnap victim! Time to get found.
Status: Closed.

[ Duke wasn't sure where he was, but that really, really didn't matter that much. They were still around, somewhere, waiting. They weren't happy that he remained silent, but Duke didn't care. He refused to make noise louder than the pained notes that made it through his breathing. He won't be bait. He wouldn't let them use him to lure his friends close, he wouldn't...

Even if everything felt like nothing would work, and breathing was a bit of a chore, he wouldn't make a sound. Even if it meant the fires turned to dull, cold aches because there was nothing left to burn.


Of course, the glow leaking off of him would probably attract people, nevermind that he looked different than he normally did. ]

Being found! Angelina

[On her way home from the clinic, Angelina finds a man in a strange condition. He is wearing strange clothes and is glowing. Slowly, she walks closer to him, wondering what happened to him, and if she could help in any way.]

Excuse me sir, are you conscious? Are you doing fine?

[radiantwingedone]

[ There are steps and words, and Duke simply tries to curl up a little more. Its not the best idea because his right shoulder and side say its a fairly bad idea, and a tiny noise of pain of pain escapes.

But that's okay, right? Its not like he's screaming, which would probably be what they wanted. Maybe he'll get left alone.

Although that deep voice may be somewhat familiar, and the cuts that are trying to stain those odd clothes match all those cuts on the dead or kidnapped... ]

[ladyinscarlet]

[As she gets closer, she recognizes Duke by the long, white hair. She kneels next to him and examines his wounds. He seems to be seriously injured, but for some reason, she hesitates bringing him to the clinic.]

Duke? Is that you? This is Angelina, do you remember me?

[radiantwingedone]

[ His name? He should know who knows his name, and he recognizes that voice.

Duke partially uncurls to blink in the right direction - and with the odd clothes is a change in eyecolor. And rather unfocused eyes at the moment too. ]

Angelina, should run. [ And now he's going to curl back up again. ]

[ladyinscarlet]

[Run? Why? Are those who did this to him lurking around.]

I cannot leave you here, Duke. Especially not if you're hurt.

[ Duke thinks they are, at least. Or they'll be back. ]

Should. Should. [ Still going to stay very curled up on the ground. ]

[ladyinscarlet]

I will certainly not leave you... Just... I'll be right back...

[She runs back asap to the clinic to get some bandages and general supplies.]

[ Duke is going to stay curled up on the ground in that alley. Maybe nothing will happen to Angelina because he doesn't try to follow. ]

[ladyinscarlet]

[She is back in no time with the medical supplies.]

Duke, what should I do with you. I could take you back to the clinic but... Maybe I should just take you to your home, or mine. [Though how she will move a grown man, is a good question as any.]

For now I can take care of some of your wounds here.

[ Duke remains quite limp when she returns. ]

Forest. Forest would be good. [ No Angelina, don't take him to his home.

And he's a skinny grown man. ]

[ladyinscarlet]

[Along with the supplies, An brought a rolling hospital bed with her. She first kneels next to him to clean and bandage the bigger wounds. She'd rather do it in a cleaner environment, but Duke seems afraid to go anywhere but the forest.]

I will take you to the forest then... I just hope no one will see us...

[With some effort, she manages to lift him into the rolling bed without harming him too much.] Are you fine, Duke?

[ Duke would really rather just stay in his ball of blankets, bandaged and glowing. If he doesn't leave, he doesn't have to see them, and they won't be there. They're not there when he listens only.

And he won't be helpless against them. ]

[zelda_hylia]

[She wants to give Duke a little time to himself, but his behavior is really quite worrisome. Biting her lip, she leans over the pile of blankets, gently trying to get his attention again.]

Duke...? Do you think that you could eat anything? Perhaps some soup?

[radiantwingedone]

[ He hears you, Zelda, but he doesn't want to eat. Eating meant he left his blankets. And why was Zelda still here? He thought... ]

... should run.

[zelda_hylia]

There's nothing to run from here. I have wards, remember? I'm sure you can feel them... there's no one we don't trust in this house.

[For once, she doesn't pick up what he means due to the ambiguity of his statement. Zelda has no idea that Duke thinks he was being targeted to draw people out.]

[ There's just a tiny bit of rustling as Duke tries to curl up better - but his ribs and shoulder don't quite approve of that. ]

Can't. [ He can't feel the magic, even if it seems like he's radiating a bit more than usual. He can't even feel his magic.

Helpless. Can't get out of the blankets and let them find him. They find him, they'll find Zelda too... ]

[zelda_hylia]

[He might be able to feel the pressure of her hand on his back through the blankets.]

You can't? Well... you get some rest, then. I'm sure you will feel better after that. If you can't sleep, I can play you something...

[Really, she just wants to stay. He looks so small, curled up like that - but he seems to be cringing away a little too, and she doesn't want to make it worse.]

No sleep! [ That definitely sounds panicked, and its probably because she has her hand on his back that he doesn't try to shoot somewhere and hide. But there's some heavy shuddering now. ]

No sleep. No sleeping. [ Duke doesn't know if not looking will keep them away if he sleeps. ]

[zelda_hylia]

All right. All right, no sleep.

[She can't leave him like this, but she's just riling him up. She'll have to settle for being able to feel him within the house. Swallowing hard, she lifts her hand.]

Your communicator is right by the bed... okay? I'll be downstairs.

[ Duke makes a shaky noise of some sort of agreement, remaining balled in the blankets.


Although, a couple of minutes after Zelda heads downstairs, Duke realizes that he doesn't want Zelda out of the room, because if he can't see them, they're not in his room, but what about the other rooms?

He doesn't even realize how off that sounds, he's just going to migrate his blanket nest to near her and settle there. ]

[zelda_hylia]

[She isn't doing anything more than washing dishes. She blinks a couple times in confusion upon seeing Duke nesting on the floor near her feet, setting her plate aside and drying her hands.]

Duke?

Worried. [ That's all he's going to say, and he's not even going to poke his head out of his blankets to say it. ]

[zelda_hylia]

[Of course. His other friends had died, he'd already been worried about something happening to her... of course this would make him worry more. She decides to just leave the dishes be, kneeling down next to him.]

Do you want to stay in my room tonight? I won't force you to sleep, but I am getting a little tired.

Open to Ordo 2 and 3, after the 5th

[ Duke's feeling a little better, but he's still most likely found in a mess of blankets, and most likely in a room near where Zelda is. ]
