One of Vatheon's perks was that it wasn't necessary to work; almost everything was free. As far as Shizuo was concerned, however, that was also one of the drawbacks. He missed working. Of course, his track history for holding down jobs was poor, up until he finally relented and became a body guard, a position where his strength came in handy. But that was exactly what left him feeling off. Too much strength and energy, with no where to vent it. It made him feel restless - even more so after Izaya had denied him a good chase. Shizuo wouldn't have wished an attack on Vatheon under any circumstances, but he could not deny that having a reason to channel that jittery energy would probably help him relax.

Without that prospect, Shizuo tried to focus on other things, like keeping track of the happenings around Vatheon and keeping an eye out just in case anything strange happened. Which is exactly what he was doing, walking in the park - trying to take his mind off of everything. After a while, he paused his walk in favor of leaning against a tree and having a smoke.

[Shizuo follows, jumping when necessary, and keeps up a good pace - but the foliage does slow him down, and he nearly loses his footing a couple of times. Luckily, he's a lot more clear-headed than he is when he chases Izaya, rather than irrational and angry, and so he slows down only a little, so as to run carefully and not trip. This puts him a little behind, but he's still moving quickly.]

[Just as quick as she ascended the rooftop, she drops, disappearing into the alleyway and slowing, stalking slowly enough to not leave a trail.

Turned into a game of hide-and-seek!]

[That's different - but Shizuo smiles as she disappears, coming to a stop at the edge of the roof on which he stands, looking over. Usually, this is where he would lose the game, but being in a better mindset than usual, he tries to listen. Hearing nothing, he jumps down from the roof, and begins to stalk the alley, hoping to catch wind of a clue as to where she went.]

[Ammy slowly stalks around, working her way very, very carefully to behind Shizuo... before running up and attempting to tackle the backs of his knees and knock him over.]

[It's unexpected, and Shizuo does wind up knocked over. He laughs in response, though, palms against the ground, and turns over to look at Ammy.]

You win!

[It's not so bad to lose a game like this - and Shizuo feels a lot better than he did before Ammy approached him.]

That was fun.

[Ammy pants happily, excitedly licking at Shizuo's face. She had fun, too! You were a worthy opponent!!!]

[Shizuo laughs and sits up - careful, so as not to accidentally knock into Ammy. He probably shouldn't make a habit out of talking to animals, but Ammy seems smart, so he does.]

We should do it again sometime.

[He feels much better, and it is nice to know that Izaya isn't his only option for a good chase.]

[Ammy sits down, panting happily. That was fun!

She blooms a patch of flowers beneath Shizuo in appreciation.]

[Shizuo smiles at her and then looks at the flowers. It's an impressive ability, and he likes it. Back in Ikebukuro, city-life didn't often offer the opportunity to enjoy nature.]
