[Why was he going out here? If it was only to get some fresh air, then shouldn't he do it when it wasn't raining? Maybe he was getting stir-crazy, sitting in the bubble all the time.

Maybe the rain reminded him of Inaba. At least it wasn't foggy outside, he could give it that. Then he would be even more paranoid than he was already. Especially with Adachi here.

He opens the umbrella as he gets out of the elevator, and looks around--

His little moment of peace doesn't last long before the flimsy umbrella is ripped out of his hands by a gust of wind.

He's stunned, just for a moment, quickly getting more and more wet before he groans.]

Damn it! Why did I come up here??

[He takes off after the umbrella. But guess what? Wet sand is kind of hard to run in.

And guess what? Yosuke's pretty clumsy. Faceplant in 3...2...]

AAAH--!!

[He goes down, falling into the wet sand. No umbrella. Just the rain and the wet, nasty stuff underneath him.

He's not even going to bother to get up, either. Not for now.

Maybe he should just stay in the house for the rest of his time here. Yep. That sounded nice right about now.

Also, that umbrella? Way gone at this point.]

Heheh, yeah. [She keeps smiling. It worked! She doesn't mind him laughing; it is kinda funny to think about after all. It just kinda hurt when it happened. She shrugs.]

It didn't hurt all that much, it's fine! And I'm glad you haven't. It might not have hurt me that much, but it was only a wooden wall. I think it would've hurt a lot more if it wasn't just wood. [The walls in Vatheon definitely would've hurt more. She's not sure she could break one, but just falling into one would hurt a lot...]

Yeah, like one of the walls at my school...that probably would've been a little bit worse.

[Didn't hurt all that much...man, he wishes he would be able to say that if he fell through a wooden wall.]

Or any of the walls here, for that matter.

I wouldn't really know, so if you think so! It was one of the walls at my school; we never really fixed the hole either.

[It did hurt at the time, but after the trials...it really didn't hurt much in comparison.]

Yeah, I'm really glad I haven't fallen into any walls here yet. [Faceplanting is another matter, but she hasn't actually fallen into a wall yet.]

...You never fixed it--?

[He just runs his hand through his hair, and sighs.] So what, is there a you-sized hole in the wall or something? [HE'S MOSTLY JOKING HERE, he doesn't really think that there is literally a Colette-sized hole in the wall.

Except there is.]

Yeah, that's probably a good thing.

Mmhm, it never got fixed. They put a couple boards over it so that people wouldn't walk through, but it's still there and... [She laughs a bit, rubbing the back of her head again.] The hole's definitely still shaped like me.

[She nods and glances at her umbrella, before holding it out to him again.] Your umbrella flew off, so you can have mine!

[...Oh. He really hadn't known that it would actually be in the shape of her. He's actually not sure whether he should laugh or feel sorry for her...

Oops, he's snickering at the mental image.] I can't say I was expecting that one. That had to be some fall.

[WAIT--] Oh, you keep it! I'll...I'll be fine.

[Considering the entire reason she brought it up was to distract him from her seeing him faceplant... Either one would have worked, though she's much happier he chose to laugh instead of feel bad for her. If he felt bad for her, he'd be likely to worry about her! And she doesn't want her friends to worry about her!

So she laughs too.] I guess it was. I'm not quite sure how, but I did the same thing with a tent wall.

[The owners of the tent had been happy that the Chosen One had made a impression, but that just made her feel worse when it happened.

She blinks.] Are you sure? I don't mind at all.

[A tent wall too, huh? Well okay, at least he only fell into garbage cans and light poles.] Man, you're just about as clumsy as I am, aren't you?

[He doesn't mean to be rude - he just. Kind of is.]

It's okay. I'm kinda wet to the point where it wouldn't make much difference anyway.

[She smiles.] Maybe!

[She doesn't know how clumsy he is, after all. But he's the one who said she was about as clumsy as he is, so maybe she is. She doubts he's tripped in midair though. She's not sure how she managed to do that...

She frowns, just a little. Even if you're soaked, getting even more wet can make you sick.]

If you say so...Why'd you come up to the island? [He'd asked that earlier, and she's kinda curious to the answer. If he asked himself that, why did he come out here?]

[Probably not, but they're still pretty self-inflicted.

Because being Yosuke is suffering.]

I don't know, I guess I just wanted to get out. And it...rained a lot, in Inaba. It kind of reminded me of home.

[He guesses, anyway.]

[She nods.]

That makes sense! I think I'd go up here more often if it reminded me of home.

[But it doesn't really remind her of Iselia, though the Professor lives up here.]

At least it makes sense to someone...

[He supposes it's one of those 'you don't think you'd miss it until it's gone' type of scenarios.

Except out of all the things there, he never would've thought he'd miss this at all.]

What's your home like, anyway? Ah--we could...probably start going back into the bubble or something.

[So he can dry off.]

[She misses her home too, now that she thinks about it, though she misses the rest of her friends more. Hmm...how to explain her home... She turns to go back into the bubble while she thinks.]

Well...I grew up in a small village, Iselia. I still live there when I'm not traveling. A couple of my friends lived there too; Lloyd, Genis, and the Professor. [What else...]

There was a desert not that far south, and the ocean was only a bit north of us. I lived with Father and Grandmother, and up until I turned 16, Lloyd, Genis, and I attended the school there together. The Professor, she's Genis' older sister, taught us and all the other kids in Iselia, though she got annoyed with Lloyd a lot...

[She smiles, remembering.]

Though I think that if all of us are together - Zelos, Sheena, Regal, Presea, Genis, the Professor, Lloyd, and me - it doesn't matter where we are. It feels like home anyway. [Hopefully that answers his question. She's not sure what else to say about what she thinks of as her home...]

[He starts following her, listening to her talk about her home. Some of those names sounded familiar; maybe he'd seen them on the contact list or something before.]

That's cool. I'm glad you have a lot of friends like that.

[Good friends were always great.]

But...I think I know what you mean. About it feeling like home no matter what.

[Since around half of them, and then one more, are in Vatheon right now, he might have even talked to one of them! She smiles up at him while she keeps walking.]

I'm glad I was able to become their friend too. And then there are more people here that I feel the same way about! Like you, Yukari, Kohaku, Shing, Zelda, Guy, and Estelle.

[And she's started to care that much about some other people here too! Even if they don't think that they're that close, all her friends are dear to her. Just some a bit more than others.

Oh! She tilts her head, trying to watch him and the ground at the same time.]

Do you have friends like that too? [She hopes so. She hopes everyone does, but she knows that probably isn't the case. She considers Kratos like that too, but he left for Derris Kharlan and he doesn't get along with Zelos so it seemed easier to just leave him out of the explanation.]

[He might have!

...Baw, Colete. He smiles a little bit, when his name is mentioned.]

Yeah, I think I do. Both here and at home.

[And he looks over at Colette, before rubbing the back of his head.]

You, for example.

[Colette smiles up at him. Not only does she think of him as a good friend, he thinks of her as one too? That's good news, after having some people not consider her their friend after she considered them her friend. And the news that there were more people like that for him, both here and at home, was even better. That meant there are several people in his world like that so it wouldn't leave him alone if he vanished at some point!]

I'm really happy that you have friends like that too! I'm not sure if everyone does, but I hope they do...

[He nods a little bit.]

There are some people I know that probably couldn't have a friend if their life depended on it, but...otherwise? Yeah, it helps having friends around.

[Taking that from experience.]

[People who possibly couldn't have a friend...Even the thought of that makes her sad.]

I know some people choose not to get attached enough to others to make friends, but that just seems really lonely to me. [After all, it wasn't until she met Lloyd that she was scared of dying, that she wanted to live.]
