Digital Domestic Saga continues
Who: Argilla and you
When: Sometime during the day
Where: Near the Plaza, though she's wandered away from it a bit
Style: Whichever, but starting in brackets.
Status: Open!
["Welcome to Vatheon. Welcome to Vatheon! Welcome, to Vatheon—"
The name of this place is about the only thing Argilla's been able to get so far, since she woke up here. That, and a towel, although she isn't necessarily sure what she should do with it until she sees the other newcomers using them. Being wet doesn't really bother her, after all, nor the torn and charred clothing—just as long as the dash of orange is still visible on her skirt, which it definitely is. Even the pain she'd initially felt is slowly subsiding, which she's been told is something she can thank the Coral for after she touched it. That large structure at the center of the city...
But other things hold her interest at the moment—like where this place is and how she got here, so she's slowly exploring. She at least hopes this means they were successful, her and Roland; but she accepts that it's probably unlikely she'd ever find out now.
She'd made her decision. And now...somehow she's living with it.]
Hmm? What is this?
It's...cold.
[It's just about then that she passes by what appears to be an ice cream shop, where a local stops her to offer her a free cone of ice cream. Apparently, Argilla's hair made him think of it—it's perfect for her! Because the first thing you do when seeing a person wet from head to toe (and still trying to dry off) is to offer them ice cream—
Ah. Regardless though, she takes it with a tilt of her head. She's supposed to eat it, she assumes, but it almost feels like it's going to fall off if she moves or touches it the wrong way. Besides, is it...looking at her?
...
The local goes on to explain something or other about the shape of the ice cream, about how it was specially made in the spirit of the Fisholympics which just took place-- but she's really looking for an excuse to leave and explore more.
Come to her rescue?
...Or don't. Whatever. She'll quietly leave eventually—]

And.
Serph's approaching the pink haired woman in the Plaza with the tiniest of smiles. Argilla, you are late.]
1/3
Wet. Sticky. Nothing like the dampened ocean water she feels everywhere else.
Not that any of it matters-- because a moment later, she spots him, and all of it ends up on the ground anyway.]

Things she'd been prepared never to see again.]
Serph! Y- You're...
no subject
It's a simple word, yet she can't bring herself to say it for some reason. Maybe it's fear that acknowledging it would somehow undo it, but... either way, she trails off there; staring at him for a moment as if he'd caught her doing something horrible.
She composes herself, though. She has to.
And finally, words come to her that she seems satisfied with sharing.]
I've... missed you.
[They all did.]
no subject
Though Serph had noticed the state of Argilla's clothing, he'd thought it may have been from the explosion at the top of the Karma Temple. Or after any of the numerous fights they had prior; he knows people can be pulled from different times. There isn't much future after that explosion... or so he thinks.
But Argilla's reaction... there's something odd about it, though he can't quite put his finger on what exactly. But he pushes that down for now, hiding it behind dat poker face, and puts a hand on her shoulder.]
It's good to see you. We've been waiting.
[She's the last one to arrive, after all.]
no subject
[There's a slight puzzled look at that. There is plenty of future after what Serph remembers, and Argilla had done her part to make sure of it. But for now, she can't be too concerned about home, about Karma City.
She is faced with the here and now.
And since Serph is here, she has to make sure he would have a future here as well. Wherever this 'Vatheon' is.]
"We" who?
[It's pretty safe to assume he means members of the Embryon, but... he hasn't specified. Could he possibly mean everyone?
Why would they be waiting for her here, anyway? She's never even heard of this city.]

Thank you very much!
[She waves to the shopkeeper as she leaves the used book store, a bag of books and CDs at her side.
As she begins her trek back to the base, she looks in a store window and sees a familiar reflection in the glass. Grey skirt, pink hair...]
!!!
[She turns around to spot Argilla, covered in damp clothes and holding ice cream. Emotions overcome her, and tears well up in her eyes as she begins to sprint towards her.]
Argilla!
no subject
Even he can tell this is a reunion that shouldn't be interrupted.]
Sera. [There's a bit of a laugh. She can't really help it.] Sera, you're smiling.
[Thank goodness. It's such a relief to see; she'd been such a zombie the entire time, barely even speaking; and even with the likes of Fred and Gale looking after her while they fought, Argilla still worried.
...But what is she doing here?]
no subject
She approaches the sniper and wraps her arms around her, hugging her tightly as if she might disappear again if she doesn't hold on.]
You're here. I'm so happy you're all right...
no subject
She wraps an arm around her as well, trying avoid the using the hand she's holding the ice cream with-- so that she doesn't get it all over her. Not that Sera seems to care at the moment, but still...Argilla is always considerate, even in the smallest ways.
Seeing Sera's tears makes her own eyes just a little bit watery, too.
Emotions are such strange things.]
I'm sorry...
['I'm not all right. I knew I wouldn't be.']
I didn't mean to worry you.
['I'm sorry I lied.']

lost this tag in my inbox, I'm so sorry!

And he was.
He was on his way back to the base from the clinic when he spotted her. He puts on his best grin and approaches her, waving.]
Hey! Argilla!
no subject
Even with two measly words, she can recognize Cielo's voice, and it's enough to make the local who'd been speaking to her clam up. She doesn't have much time to think about just what he's doing here; she certainly hadn't expected to speak to him again, and definitely not so soon.
But he quickly approaches, and she finds herself greeting him with the same enthusiasm.]
Cielo!
[She'll wave back, too, with the hand that's not getting sticky from the dripping ice cream.
What does she even say now...?]
Cielo, it's... it's good to see you.
[......that's a start, she supposes.]
no subject
And you too.
[There's so many things he wants to do: show her the base, show her the island (and the beach!), show her the city. Where does he start?]
The others, they're here too, ja? We've been waiting for you.

It's both those traits that has Rinoa pausing just outside the ice cream shop, umbrella at her side, tucked under the same arm that has the orange ribbon tied to it. She wants to ask Argilla if she knows anything about the Embryon - most people don't have streaks of orange splashed on them. After a moment of deliberation, she decides to hold off on that.]
Hey, uh, do you need any help?
[At the very least, Rinoa has never seen Argilla around before so she's likely new.]
no subject
Argilla knows her clothes aren't in the greatest shape, so she thinks she may be referring to that-- there's also the matter of her being wet, which people don't seem to approve of here for whatever reason (judging by how many towels she's seen about).
But instead of playing the mental guessing game further, she simply comes out and answers the woman's question.]
Thank you. I feel fine, surprisingly, but... I was just trying to find out a little more about this place.
[...And then she glances at the ice cream in her hand again.
Clearly she got a bit distracted.]
no subject
[And yes, newbies are wet, so Rinoa holds up her finger, gesturing Argilla to wait a moment before she hurries over to a towel vendor just across the street. Holding up her hand to show her mark, she asks the guy running the stall to toss over a towel. Once he does and it's caught, Rinoa walks back over and hands out the towel to Argilla.]
Just so you don't catch a cold or something. Especially since you've got ice cream in your hands. You might want to eat that before it melts.

For that reason, he's going through the plaza today to hunt down some more supplies they'll need to continue fixing everything. His thoughts are mostly on what he needs to get, but some Junkyard habits die hard, because he takes a sweeping glance over the Plaza before he enters. It only takes a moment to notice the pink hair and gray clothing, and as soon as he does, he's moving toward her.]
Argilla. Have you just arrived?
no subject
Aha, luckily she's spoken with a few of the other Embryon members by now, so she knows to expect to see him eventually. She's sure none of them could give a report on the situation like their strategist could, though-- especially with how much of a leader he became upon Serph's death.
None of them seem to remember though, do they...?
There's a small smile, as she nods.]
I have.
[Not long ago at all, in fact.]
I'm still not sure what to make of this place, but... I hear you guys have been waiting for me, Gale.

You are the last we were waiting for. Heat arrived only a month before you.
Have you received information on Vatheon?

It's about time you arrived.
no subject
Because she recognizes it well.]
Heat.
[There's a suspicious look from her. She can't exactly help it, since the last thing she remembers about you is how you stabbed Serph in the
backgut. She winces a little at the memory, but...She's beginning to catch on now that she seems to be the only one who knows these things. Anything and everything, about Karma City, the real world... "Nirvana." Roland.
...So she'll keep quiet about it for now.]
Yes, I've heard from the others about how I've kept you waiting.
Were you really that lost without me?
[Is that... a teasing tone in her voice? Yes.]
no subject

Tch, hardly. The others were worried about you, that's all. ( not him, okay. but he's giving you a look over -- ) Dry off before you get to the base.

Ya new here?
[She regards Argilla for a moment, before taking a bite out of a fin of the fish.
KYOUKO TAKES NO PRISONERS.]
no subject
The funny thing is, Kyouko probably would make a good demon cannibal. BUT ANYWAYS, Argilla is actually a little surprised to find someone so young here. She reminds her a bit of Fred and his friends, even.
But seeing her take a bite out of the fin, Argilla does the same to her own to imitate her. Because Kyouko is the best role model, clearly; and then she'll swallow it before answering:]
I've never heard of Vatheon in my life. So yes, I believe so.
[She'll lick her lips after that. This actually tastes quite good...]
no subject
She really is the best role model. Do everything she does.
Except don't.]
No one does until they get here. Might not make sense, but it's true.
[Yep. Food is good, Argilla. SHE WILL SHOW YOU THE LIGHT SO STOP EATING PEOPLE--]
