[The natives were rather insistent at shoving people towards the center plaza this night. Very insistent indeed. So insistent it is rather hard to escape their grabby hands.

And when they've gathered as many foreigners as they can, they tell everyone the teams.

It's with a smile that the foreigner who seems to be in charge of this all says 'Good luck, teams! And please, be teams.' but then he is waving them off to go meet each other.

Also to hand out betta fish. Try not to lose your fish already, alright?]

[ Among the hustle and bustle, you can catch sight of a small black thing hopping about as strong as its little legs can carry it. It seems to be looking over the crowd and over heads and natives and what have you before suddenly declaring as loud as he can: ]

TEAM FIVE! HEY! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?!

[ And it will be calling this out every now and then as he makes his way around the plaza. ]

[ Though Walter is inclined to ignore the obnoxious cry, he recalls that he's, unwittingly, a member of said team five. He turns his head slightly to look in the direction of the caller. At first, he sees nothing, but then the black blob pops up in the midst of the crowd and Walter's brows furrow.

What is that thing? Whatever the answer is, he's not going to stick around and turns on his heels to depart. He might have already dug his grave by briefly making eye contact. ]

[With some other issues in life squared away, Karkat has had the chance to resume a somewhat normal routine. Unfortunately, that routine was squashed by the insistence of the natives. Sure, he would have visited the Plaza on his own to touch the coral, but being shoved along? This insistently? By the time he's there he's in a foul mood, beyond his usual surliness, and the recollection that, oh yeah, Gamzee convinced him to sign up for this thing isn't helping.]

[The announcement of the teams told him very little. Sure he heard the names called alongside his for his team, but not a one was something he recognized. If he had, maybe it would have helped. Then again, it may have just set off a tirade to all ears nearby.]

[Suffice it to say, when he catches sight of the little - what is that thing? Some kind of hopbeast? - whatever-it-is scurrying around, yelling about Team Five, his mood is not brightened.]

Are you fucking kidding me. You? You're on my team?

[Here stands Karkat, short alien kid of 14 human years, glaring down at the little fuzzball like he's responsible for all his hardships.]

How the heck am I supposed to compete alongside something like you?

[Silver is rather cranky at all of this given that he was shoved, literally, to the plaza, so he's just glaring at anyone and everyone.] How the fuck am I to find my team if I don't have a fucking clue who the morons are?

[A native just shrugs, not phased much by Silver's language. Silver just snorts.

He'll be hassling anyone and everyone, asking what
team you are in. If it's not team Seven, he'll shove you away.] You think finding a bunch of morons would be easy.

That isn't very nice. [Doesn't the red dino look vaguely familiar? Kind of like it evolved from that little red blob you met the other day.]

[ Aoko overhears Silver say something about team seven, so her original intent in approaching him is to see if he's one of her teammates.

Until she sees him rudely shove someone for no apparent reason, that is. ]

--Hey! You can't just push people around like that!

[Before the team meetup and once the names have been called, Walter pushes through the crowd, barely escaping the numerous hands of the natives in pursuit of the one in charge. He doesn't appear angry so much as disinterested, as is often the case.]

I didn't sign up for this.

[We know you didn't, the natives say mirthfully. Walter gives them a blank look, then turns away when they smile back. There's someone he needs to talk to about the matter of leadership in this absurd event.]

[ Look who's right behind you, Walter! Yep, it's your favorite little ball of sunshine, Guriko!

She looks a little out of breath, but don't worry there is nothing she can't handle. ]

Did you see? We're on the same team.

None of us did. They seem to like doing this shit at random. ]the natives nearest Silver give him a Look, but the red-head ignores it.]

This is all so exciting!! [Fai is making his way through the crowd and heading towards the main event areas.]

I can't wait to play~ I wonder how my team will do. I've never played many team sports. This should be fun.

[She heard that comment about this being fun and walked over to him.]

It seems like it'll be a lot of fun, right? We get to meet new people and play games with them!

[What is he even doing here? Competitions are just fine with Leon, and he has fond memories of the dropped jaws his displays of swordsmanship have caused.

But what is it with these events? Painting? Racing? Training fishes? So many water themes too...

And to top it all off, he has to work with a team he did not pick.]

[Welp, he's already a part of this mess, might as well find his teammates he supposes. But how to get their attention? He could go around and ask everyone individually, but that would be a huge waste of time and hardly efficient at all with how many people are wandering about. Seeing as there's others yelling for their teammates, maybe that's the best course of action here with how busy and loud everything is. He might not be Karkat, but he can definitely be loud when he needs to be.]

[But yelling in the middle of a crowd is about stupid, so instead, he makes his way towards the center fountain, climbing on it and standing on the edge of it to give him a height advantage.]

Whoewer is part a the winnin' team meet ower here! The winnin' team bein' that a team two, in other words, my team.

[And a self important gesture towards himself at the end of that. He might not be the leader, but by god is he gonna act like it.]
