[Hubert is waiting in the park with his weapon in hand, wating for anyone who had expressed an interest in sparring with him.

Come at him bros and brosises?]

[She catches them again and smiles. They seem to come back to her even when he knocks them away.]

Mine aren't the most interesting out of my friends. [She'll wait for him to attack this time. That was no where near her strongest attack, but she needed to find out how he attacks too.]

I see.

[He'd like to see some of those weapons, but that's a talk for another time.

He's reluctant to use his guns against her, so he decides to stick to his dual blades instead, breaking the staff apart and approaching to swing them down at her with a spin.]

Dualblade Dance!

Damage Guard! [Blocking that with just her chakrams doesn't seem like a good idea, so a green bubble of light surrounds her as she crosses her arms. The impact still hurts, but not as much as it would have if she hadn't.

As soon as the bubble disappears, she spins with her arms outstretched.]

Ring Whirlwind!

[A blocking arte? That's handy.

Hubert sees the next strike coming with just barely enough time to bring his blades back together and block with the staff. It's a good hit, though, and he has to take a step back to regain his balance after.]

[Colette takes a step back herself, feeling a bit dizzy from spinning. She waits this time, watching him, wanting to feel a bit more stable before attacking again.]

[The dizziness doesn't go unnoticed, and Hubert straightens to give her a concerned look. He doesn't want to attack if she's going to fall over!]

Are you alright?

Yep! It's just been a while since I've fought without my friends by my side.

[So she isn't used to having to really wait until she's no longer dizzy unprotected. Ring Whirlwind does make you a bit dizzy after all.]

Ready to continue? [She won't attack first, this time.]

I see.

[That earns a bit of a smile. He can relate. Even if his friends are there, it's not as though they have to battle like they did back home.

He nods and readies his staff again.]

Yes, so long as you are.

[She hopes they never have to fight as hard as they did during the Journey again.

She nods, waiting for his attack with her chakrams raised.]

[Hubert takes another moment, then charges forward, jumping in to the air as he spins his staff around in an upward strike.]

Tiger Blade!

[And brings it back down as he lands.]

[That arte is familiar! Colette catches the staff between her chakrams, placing a foot behind to balance herself. Then she moves her chakrams up and down in several quick motions.]

[Hubert is, admittedly, impressed with her skill. He can't imagine chakrams being an easy weapon to learn or use consistently, but she pulls it off well.

He breaks away after a few moves, quickly jumping back in to a defensive position.]

[She's impressed with his skill with his dualblades that split apart too. It almost reminds her a bit of Yuan's Swallow. Just Swallow doesn't become two swords.

She studies him. He doesn't seem to be that affected, but then she wasn't affected much by the fight so far either. Could she use an angel skill...? No, best to wait a bit more.

She keeps her own defensive stance.]

[But wait, there's more! He's more than a little curious to see how a chakram wielder does against projectiles, so he quickly snaps the blades back in to pistols, firing a few quick but fairly weak shots.]

Flare Shot!

[That surprised her. His swords split into...things that fire off shots like Murders do?

Still, she attempts to deflect the shots, though some landed on her arms.

Maybe she should use an Angel Skill, if only to see how he reacts to it. But...that would mean showing him and anyone watching her wings.

Instead, she runs toward him. And with a motion of her chakrams, makes a red hammer fall toward Hubert.]

Pow Hammer!

[A hammer?! Well, he wasn't expecting that any more than she was expecting the shots, and he doesn't even bother to dodge it. In fact he's looking up at it when it falls.

It clocks him right in the head, hard enough to hurt and leave him momentarily stunned with his hand where he was struck.]

Ow! Did you just summon a hammer?!

[Okay, that was...She giggles.]

Sorta!

[It's not Summoning like what Sheena does, but it's sorta similar. And it's not like she has hammers on her. Since he's stunned...]

Does your weapon have parts of a Murder in it? [Murder, Perfect Murder, anything else in the Renegade base that fires something like those shots--]

[He rubs at the spot he was struck, feeling a bit foolish that he was bested by a hammer of all things...

He blinks at the question, quirking an eyebrow. What an odd term...]

No, it does not. What is that, exactly?

It's...[She tilts her head. How to explain? Simplest works better... Straightening and smiling!] a machine! Murders, Perfect Murders, and other mechanical monsters shot things like your weapon does, so I wanted to know if that's how someone made it.

[Yep, that totally works.]

A machine?

[Hubert looks down at one of his pistols, frowning thoughtfully at it.]

Ah... frankly a "machine" isn't the proper definition for it, but it's close.

It's a device that channels Eleth. Do you know what that is?

[She shakes her head.]

No. What's Eleth?

[It. Sounds like his pistols are his worlds version of Magitech...]

It's a source of power in our world. All living things contain Eleth, though some contain more than others. And Eleth can also concentrate and become a substance called Cryas, which holds a great deal of Eleth inside it.

[oh!]

So it's like Mana then! Mana is what makes things able to be alive, though concentrated Mana is usually either a Summon Spirit, Seal Guardian, [wings] or a spell. If an area has a lot of mana, it'll become affected by the type of mana, though more mana usually means more life.

Oh, yes, I've heard it likened to Mana before. By quite a few people here, in fact. It seems our world shares quite a bit common.

There... seems to be evidence of spirits in my world, as well, but I know very little about them myself.

[She tilts her head.]

Do you remember all of their names? [That way she can tell him which ones are from the same world as she is!]

I don't think I know all that much about my world's Summon Spirits, apart from what they do. My friend's the one who can summon them.
