Where:
Kanaya Maryams Storefront For Commissioned Ragripping And Seamstressing
With Display Space For Artistic Clothing Creations
When: A small sign on the door says this business opens an hour after sundown on the surface, and closes an hour before dawn, every day. Feel free to backdate if you wish, or set your posts whenever, really.
Who: Kanaya Maryam and anybody who's interested in her shop.
Style: I'll follow your lead.
Status: Open to the public during posted business hours, closed all other times. :P
Kanaya's shop has changed a bit since it's quiet grand opening. The dress forms out front all have been clothed in a variety of styles; the specific outfits on display change often, sometimes as often as every day. Men's and women's fashions are available, though there is usually more dresses than anything else.
Inside there are a few more outfits available for viewing, but this is not a clothing store. None of these outfits have a price tag, as the clothing here is hand made by the proprietor. a small sign on the back wall indicates that this business is for clothing repairs, tailoring, and custom commission work, though you are welcome to make an offer on something if you like it.
A single bell chimes when the door is opened, summoning the proud owner of this workshop and boutique from the back room.

I think you and Zelda will both enjoy this one.
Not exactly. This is more of a formal gown. Something from a human culture that would be foreign to both of our home realities.
[The neck clips the front and back of the dress together as a choker. She hands Zelda a pair of black velvet opera length gloves to put on while she finishes arranging the dress. The back, as she said, has to be pinned together. The outfit is completed with lengths of pearls.]
I don't often work with jewelry, but these are rather plentiful in Vatheon and they work well with this.
[She finishes arranging the pearls, making sure they're in the perfect position before she pulls over a full length mirror, giving Zelda a good look at the dress]

It's beautiful. I'm not sure I'll have the occasion to wear it here, but it's stunning.

It always seems like the nicest of clothes are restricted to rare and specific events. During store hours I like to wear things that showcase my skills, so I have more opportunity for things like this. There may be some events that this would be applicable for sometime, who knows? And if it doesn't come up, perhaps we could put together a formal party. One with a strict dress code.
[She takes a blue pencil to the fabric, marking points for the closures she'll be adding later.]
And finished. Let me help you out of there...

There was a ball back in February. If something similar happens again, perhaps I'll have the chance to wear it.
[It would have been preferable to the Zora tunic she wore to the ball... and nothing else. Try to ignore the small shudder at the memory, Kanaya.]

So... about that favor I mentioned.
[Kanaya paused, thinking of the right way to phrase such a request, the right way to even bring up the subject. And as she thought, the topic started to dominate her mind. Blood. Just thinking about the request had brought the subject into focus, and so filled her thoughts she could not manage to remember what she was going to ask. Kanaya's head began to swim, leaving her dizzy and disoriented. She reached for a work chair nearby, and nearly stumbled in to it before sitting. ]
I...

[Kanaya caught herself as she leaned forward. She could feel her body tensing up, getting ready to pounce on what she was having an increasingly difficult time of not classifying as "prey". She forces herself under control, sitting firmly in her chair. As she pleads with the princess her face is a picture of worry, bordering on fear. She's worse off than she thought, and working so close with someone like this has not helped at all.]
Zelda could you please play that song for me? It will help... clear my head. So I can ask you the... thing.

Thank you Zelda. That helped quite a bit. I explained to you before that I am afflicted with a certain condition, one you connected with the undead. I have been having some... problems... with a certain aspect of that condition. The Medic was helping me to investigate my problem, determining the parameters that define what I now am. He was also treating me for a need tied to this condition.
When I went looking for a treatment today, I found out that the medic had left the bubble.
[Kanaya stops for a moment, embarrassed. Her blushing cheeks actually show as darker patches of jade against the normal glow of her skin.]

It's alright. If you're having trouble with your condition, I am happy to help.

Well... I want you to understand what it is I need. I don't eat. I don't drink. After I changed like this, the only sources of energy I can get are sunlight and... blood. I have to consume blood to survive. The medic was experimenting with me on this. Bottled, preserved blood works to hold off hunger for some time but eventually it is not enough. I begin to show a set of disturbing symptoms when I go without fresh blood for a long enough period of time. Right now I am suffering some of those effects, though that sunlight helps alleviate them a little for a short while. If I don't feed...
[She stops for a bit. This time rather than being distracted by the hunger, she's making a conscious effort to hold back tears from laying everything out like this.]
no subject
Ah, so that's it.]
So you require someone to feed from every once in awhile? That is fine. I'm not squeamish, I would be glad to assist you.
[She's curious about the process, anyway. Zelda is curious about many things that she really shouldn't be.]
no subject
Well... if you're sure. It does not seem to have any ill effect on the donor, and it's not actually painful either. Something about the feeding triggers a rush of endorphin production, with lasting effect of heightened serotonin levels, though we did not determine the exact cause. The Medic surmised that the effect serves as an analgesic.

[Curious though she might be, Zelda's not reckless enough to let anyone at her neck. She sits down and holds her wrist out to Kanaya, looking a little shy but not overly nervous. Hopefully Kanaya likes sweets, because Hylians have slightly sweeter blood than humans - and Zelda's blood sugar does tend to be on the high side, as fond of sweets as she is.]
Whoops my neuropsych is showing
[Kanaya starts suddenly, leaning forward to take the offered arm. She stops herself though, redoubling her control. If she's going to do this, she wants it to be her own will to do it. She can't give in to the hunger, she doesn't know if she'd be able to stop if that happened. Carefully, she takes Zelda's hand and slowly brings it to her lips. She bites smoothly and forcibly, puncturing the skin and the ulnar artery. A brief stab of pain from the wound is nearly completely wiped out by the neurotransmitter production she warned about. The endorphin provides a wave of euphoria, lasting through the drinking process. The arterial path provides a lot of blood quickly, and she drinks deeply. She stops herself after taking a little over half a liter of blood. The ecstasy fades quickly, leaving a dull pain at the site of the bite. A longer lasting feeling of bliss and happiness will follow for a day or two, thanks to the serotonin. Zelda may feel slightly off from the blood loss, but it's no more than what many people lose from a more traditional form of donation.]
[Kanaya holds a clean cloth on the wound with steady and surprising pressure. She looks up at Zelda, waiting for her reaction after the immediate effects wear off. She's worried; it's one thing for someone to say they are fine with something like this, and another from them to fully experience it. ]
I'm told there is some sort of enzyme or something that stimulated clotting and cell growth. I hit an artery but the wound should be no worse than most surface cuts soon.

It is fine, see? There is no damage.

[Kanaya closes her eyes for just a moment. She felt quite refreshed now, her mind sharp and alert and hers. It helped that the hylian blood seemed to energize her a bit as well, i had a wonderfully sweet yet delicate taste, but she's feeling something like a caffeine buzz now.]
It occurs to me now that I should apologize for my behavior during this visit and beg your forgiveness. I invited you here with pure intentions, but I did not realize how great my need was until you arrived. I was affected by my hunger and I am sorry.
no subject
[Perhaps a little strangely, but she never felt endangered. Zelda laughs softly.]
You don't need to be ashamed. It is not as if you forced yourself on me, after all.
[Zelda is just a little out of it. This particular rush of endorphins is unlike anything she's felt before, and the blood loss just amplifies it. She sure looks happy!]

Why would you change into that because I was coming over?
no subject
It's... a bit of a compulsion related to the hunger but I don't know for sure if it is an innate effect or if it is a part of ingrained social expectation. The thing about rainbow drinkers is that they feature prominently in works of Alternian fiction and I had read a large amount of such. It could be an effect of exposure to the popular trope of the romanticized rainbow drinker, hunting through appeals to the targets sexuality, or it could be a trait of this condition that changes my behavior to a more salacious approach in personal interactions.
I know this is backtagged into oblivion, feel free to ignore
[She looks quite flustered now!]
Do you mean you were attempting to seduce me?
1/3 How could I ignore this? :D

[She's not crying, but her whole face is jade with embarrassment and she holds her hand against her face.]
