[ By the time Mithos arrives, he's soaked and looks like a drowned kitten. Coughing up lung-fulls of water, he sputters something about 'Pronyma' and being stupid. When he first arrives, it looks at first like he's someone else entirely, before reverting to this form; his child form. The change happens too quickly for anyone to tell that he was just in the form of Lord Yggdrasill; he just looks like a glowy ball. ]

P-Pronyma, what are you-- [ Cough, cough. By the time he finally gets up, he looks dazed, still disoriented, and still trying to steady his breathing. The Cruxis Crystal may mean he doesn't need food or sleep, but he still needs to breathe. The explosions of stars in his eyes gone, he looks up at the coral, clutching his side, where he had been hit by a Demon Fang earlier after having fought Lloyd's party in his Yggdrasill form only one day earlier; they had fared better than their first time around (despite still losing), and actually landed a few noteworthy hits on him. He still hadn't recovered from that, and another Demon Fang on an already sore spot was quite painful. ]

Wha... where am I?

[ Rodyle's Human Ranch? No, not unless Rodyle embezzled Desian funds to COMPLETELY RENOVATE THE ENTIRE RANCH WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION. This... this was something else entirely. ]

[ His first thought is 'eww, human,' until he senses a presence that... gives him slight chills. He hasn't felt anything like that since... Niflheim? ]

I'm fine.

[ It's a very well-hidden presence, but as someone who still has some of his 'memories' left in that book... ]

[Fluttershy trots up to the soaked kid, her rabbit Angel perched up on her back between her tucked wings. Don't mind his glares, he looks at everyone that way.]

Are... are you alright, mister? You're not hurt, are you?

Hmn. There is someone who speaks for it, somewhere, however... [ A shrug. ]

Have not been the most interested in contact.

[There's a small jingle as Colette exits the store with a bag in one hand and a puppy on a leash in the other. She wasn't going to even look at the coral except..."Pronyma". And that voice is familiar, even though she hadn't heard it for months even before she arrived.

She thought she would never hear it again, especially since they had destroyed his crystal. She can't bring herself to be angry at him here, especially since she had been so sad the last time she had seen him.

She almost doesn't say anything...but because of the time that Vatheon gives them, they might be able to change his mind, unlike what happened on their worlds. Even if it'd only last as long as they were in Vatheon, they might be able to be friends, like they were before they found out he was Lord Yggdrasil. That makes up her mind.]

Mithos?

[Lloyd's spirits sink with disappointment for a moment. Mithos had gone with all of them through the Gate, after all. He'd been hoping...

He shakes his head. There's no use dwelling on the negative, and Mithos is probably lost.]

This is Vatheon. It's a different world from Sylvarant and Tethe'alla. Me, Zelos, Colette, and the Professor are all here, and a lot of people from all sorts of other worlds, too. We haven't found a way home yet, though, so we're kind of stuck.

[He stops searching for injury for a moment to look at Mithos directly.]

You don't remember anything, do you? I mean, something that might help us figure out how to get back home? [Sheepish.] I wasn't really paying attention when I went through the Gate.

[ The gate... so, that's why Lloyd's being all friendly. While it seems unbelievable, Lloyd doesn't remember anything after that happened. Well. Mithos can find some use for that. His expression shifting a bit, Mithos shrugged. Time to go back into "I'm pretending to be your friend" mode. ]

Something went wrong, I guess. That's why the Otherworldly Gate is so untrustworthy.

So, someone knows why we're being brought here and won't tell us.

[ Yes, that is the conclusion Mithos jumped to after hearing that. ]

Then I'll make them tell us.

[ Mithos accepts the towel, but watches the boy. He... kind of reminds him of Genis, only much more shy. Gingerly drying himself off, Mithos still feels... odd around him. It's a presence he hasn't felt since Niflheim. ]

[ It was curt and short, as if he had forced himself. ]

[While he doesn't notice the shift consciously, it still registers somewhere in Lloyd's mind. Despite the situation, Lloyd smiles. At least Mithos seems to be feeling better now.]

Someone told me the coral had something to do with it, that it's what messed with the Gate and pulled us here. It's pretty important in this place. It can even heal you! Oh, yeah, and make sure to touch it every month!

The other important things to know is that you can get food and a place to stay for free. A lot of the stuff here is free, actually, if you show people the mark on your body.

[ Woah, a... horse? No, a pegasus? And it's talking! Well... at least she's not a human? ]

Not.. particularly wise, possibly. The locals thought that an appropriate "April Fools" Joke would be to pretend that one of their number had been murdered....

with a real corpse and blood.

[ He freezes as he hears that voice. There was never any mistaking it - that Chosen from Sylvarant, the one that was supposed to be his sister's new vessel - and turned to face her. At first, he greets her with a glare, but upon remembering that Lloyd didn't remember him... then surely Colette didn't, either. His expression changes instantly. ]

Oh, uh... hi Colette. You're here too?

So they can fake being dead?

[ Interesting... especially if it's that convincing. ]

What kind of people are these?

Touch the coral?

[ Touching the coral he can deal with, same with the free stuff. He wasn't sure why he should... it sounds dangerous if it can mess with teleportation. But what he says next interests and concerns him. ]

What mark? Nobody marked me... did they?

Everyone gets one when they come here. I don't remember how I got mine, either, but... Here.

[He pulls the glove off his right hand, then shows Mithos the backside of it. Sure enough, there's a mark apparently tattooed directly on his skin. He isn't bothered by it anymore. He's had three months to get used to the idea that someone tattooed him in his sleep.]

I think the shopkeepers can still tell when you have it, though, even if it's someplace you don't want to show.

I am part of a race known as Hylians. From what I've been able to gather during my time here in Vatheon, the closest commonly known race to my own is called "elves". And where are you from?

A doctor was going to preform an autopsy; the corpse was a corpse. [ Not. That he'd bothered looking at it but. ]

Cheerful, helpful, insistent. the location itself is what does not allow permanent death - the deceased will arrive some days later at the coral, as if arrived.

[She smiles. His reaction isn't enough for her to guess what time he was from, but there's no harm in being nice. Especially since he's also being nice. She doubts it'll last for long. Whether or not he came from before they found out he was Yggdrasil, he still was the leader of Cruxis and bent on getting Martel back.]

Yep! So are Lloyd, Zelos, and the Professor.

[She was about to say that they weren't all from the same time, but...that can wait. She still needs to figure out when Mithos is from before saying that she killed him over half a year ago in her time.

Her dog barks several times at him, but his tail isn't wagging.]

[Fluttershy looks relieved, but she still takes a moment to circle around him, making sure. The cream colored pony comes to a stop in front of him and looks up at him with a smile on her face.]

That's good to hear! I'm Fluttershy, and this is my friend, Angel. What's your name?

[ Mithos briefly scanned his exposed skin on his arms, and didn't see it. It must have been under his clothing somewhere. ]

Whatever.

[ He didn't care. If it was beneficial, he'd deal with it easy enough. ]

Who else is here?

[ "Hylians?" Well... it's not human, and it's not exactly an elf, either. Maybe she wasn't so bad. ]

I'm from...

[ What should he say? Aselia? Cruxis? ]

... from a city called 'Heimdall.' I'm a half-elf.

[ It can... it can bring Martel here! His face lights up, though he still looks stunned. ]
