[There is a man sitting in the plaza.]

[He isn't at all out of the ordinary- no crazy hair colors or eye colors or anything amiss. Even his clothes are plain and simple, and honestly, he looks like the kind of man who you could spot in a crowd and just forget about instantaneously.]

[He's sitting on a bench while a large black chocobo with flowers tied around its neck rests near his feet. And in his hands is...what appears to be a lute. Huh.]

[There is a few seconds of silence, and then he starts playing, not even looking at his lute as he does so, as if he's gotten the whole piece memorized by heart.]

[And if you're passing by, he'll smile over at you, as if saying "You can come over and listen. I don't mind."]

[Say hi to your resident god figure, Vatheonites? He won't bite.]

[ooc: For all of you new players out there, this is Jacob from the TV show LOST and...he's a god figure in his canon who has powers of omniscience and such. Therefore, I have a handy-dandy permission post over here as to how much he can know about your character and such. Thank you!]

[It's the music that draws his attention but when he sees who's causing the lovely sound he grins, everything else he's doing forgotten. It can wait in favor of Jacob.

The vampire gracefully sat and slid himself up next to Jacob, his head coming to rest on the slightly taller man's shoulder, just listening to the music.]

Mmm...hello, Jacob.

[He glances over the vampire, smiling as he pauses in his playing.]

Hello, Johnny.

[Jacob's smile widens slightly when Johnny rests his head upon his shoulder, not even flinching away from the invasion of personal space.]

How have you been? By the way, thank you for the flowers. They were quite lovely...

[Johnny's smile widens a bit and his cheeks go a little pink.]

Ah! I'm glad you like them~ I hoped that they would be a pleasant sight after waking up~

[And now a little concern as he shifts a bit closer. He'd been worried...really worried that Jacob was going to disappear during his coma.]

How are you, anyway?

They were. It was quite nice to see them...

[And now he's gazing with slight concern at Johnny, sensing that worry.]

I'm alright. But what's more important is, are you?

[He tenses a little at that. He doesn't want to lie to Jacob, but he doesn't want to worry him either.

So he just sits up and smiles. See? Nothing wrong here~]

Ah~ Of course~! The day is gorgeous, everything's peaceful, and you're amazing as usual~!

[Because calling Jacob amazing sometimes derails him, even if it's true.]

Me? Amazing?

[Johnny is right in that the compliment does derail him a bit, but worry is worry, and no amount of positive phrases will turn Jacob off from wondering if Johnny is alright.]

Are you sure, though? I did miss quite a bit, Johnny...something must have happened while I was asleep.

[Dammit, Jacob, why can't he ever lie to you properly?

He hesitates and shrugs.]

Yes, there's been a lot of things.

A good thing is that I have a boyfriend! His name is Sola, I think you'd like him. A fr-...someone I know woke up from his own sleep-coma and didn't go home, and I opened up a school for people here in the bubble!

But...there've been some bad things too. I burnt myself in the sun...kinda on purpose and then...I got drunk and stood up on the island during daytime hours while it was raining.

Oh, and I nearly kicked this jerk's ass, but that's not the point.

Plus...well..nevermind.

That's good, that you've found someone to be with- and I would like to meet him. And a school? How nice.

[But his smile diminishes as Johnny continues.]

Oh...are you hurt, Johnny? I hope you've healed. And what jerk might that be?

Johnny, don't leave anything out. Please, I'm here to listen.

[He shrugs.]

Yeah, I'm fine. Katsu healed my hand and the fight wasn't that bad. The Jerk's name is Girahim; he was bothering Sola.

As for the rest of it...it's...it's not bad per se. Just...different.

[He sets his head back on Jacob's shoulder and sighs. It'll be easier to talk about if he's not looking at the other man.]

I see. Should I talk to this Girahim for you and make sure he doesn't bother Sola again?

[A pause. Johnny, your problems, tell them to him. :(]

What do you feel is different?

No! [Said a little too hastily, he doesn't want you anywhere near that guy. :c]

It's just...you know how you're always telling me you don't think I'm a monster and how you think I can be saved?

Well...no one had said that before you...and now a lot of my friends are saying it. I don't know...I guess that makes it more real like, the more people who say it, the more I should believe it and accept it and change with it...but I don't know how.

I don't feel like I can...but when I say things...like I usually do, I just make people sad.

[He scoffs.]

Honestly, I don't get that either.

Why not? I can help.

Well, you aren't a monster. It isn't merely what I think. And other people see that too.

What is holding you back? Yourself? Your past, Johnny? What's preventing you from agreeing with people?

[A somber pause.]

They get sad because they don't want to see you belittle yourself that way, Johnny.

Because I don't want you to get hurt.

My past...the fact I'm seven hundred years old and this is the first time I'm hearing any of this.

And, I guess, it's me too. I..I don't know what changing means. I don't-

[He sighs and turns his head so his forehead is against Jacob's shoulder and brings his arms up to wrap around Jacob's closest arm, not unlike a child seeking comfort from a parent.]

I'm used to change, it happens when you live for a while, just...not so much all at once..

I'm not used to people caring.

Me being hurt is something you shouldn't worry about, Johnny.

[He puts his hand on Johnny's arms, to reassure him as best as he can, nodding solemnly.]

Well...I know it's hard. Getting used to something that you don't know how to deal with, with something that isn't present at all in your life. But that's just one of the many challenges we have to face in our lives, Johnny.

It's alright if you don't know how to face it- not many people do. But that doesn't mean you never will learn how to. You just have to keep going and not keep living in your past.

[He looks up, expression serious.]

You being hurt is something I always worry about! It's important, so don't say that.

[And then he buries his face in Jacob's shoulder again.]

I know you're right, though.

It's just....scary.
