[ It had taken awhile, but Yukki was finally starting to get a nice grip of his new setting in Vatheon. Sure, currently living with his creeper stalker girlfriend and people that were still trying to kill him living in under the same roof was a set back, but never fear- Yukiteru Amano was near! ~~with his hot bod or something idk~~

BUT ANYWAYS it was about mid morning when the light was finally beginning to creep into his room and the fish were chirping- I mean yeah he's yawning. A peaceful sleep for someone who is sorta kinda borderline being told to stay there. Details.

But wait, was that the smell of... food?

The boy's head perked up from his half awake state and in a mutter began his waddle to the kitchen area. It wasn't unusual to see Yuno up before himself, but for this day in particular he wondered why everything sounded so... busy. ]

'Morning. [ He managed to fumble out with a clearing of the throat. Even adding a kawaii eye rub into the mix. ] ... Yuno? You're cooking already?

[Yuno was actually just finishing up her cooking as Yukki was waking up, it turned out. Today was a special day, and she had to make it as great as possible for her ~~kawaii~~ true love, since it was a day set aside completely for love, after all!

At his voice, she turned to him, a bright smile on her face.]

Good morning Yukki! Happy Valentine's Day! [Yuno began to turn off all the appliances and pack up the food she had been preparing.] Of course I was cooking! I had to make today perfect for you, Yukki.

[His attention was probably brought to the basket sitting on the table as she approached it and put everything in it. It was a generic picnic basket, Yuno had managed to find it in town one day and decided it was perfect for the occassion.]

[ Wait, Valentine's Day? That was today?

Oh. ] Uh yeah, happy Valentine's Day. [ The boy smiles sheepishly as he watches her movements from one spot to the next. It looked at though she was planning something big, which was almost obvious considering how everything was already prepared.

He hadn't really noticed at first, but once fully stepping in the room Yukki could finally smell the fresh aroma of the assorted foods- and boy did it smell good! ]

Y- you really didn't have to do all of this... [ A picnic, too? Wow she was really going all out on this. Not that he particularly minded. Hooray for homemade cooking! ]

Yes I did! Anything for you to be happy, Yukki.
I even made all the things you like! Well, all the things I could make with ingredients I could find in Vatheon. They don't have a lot of meat so nothing like that's really in here...

[Yuno was holding the basket now. She looked over at him, but her eyes were just drawn down to his clothes.]

Yukki, you can't go on a picnic in your pajamas! I'll wait for you to get changed and then we can go.

[ He listens to her as she speaks. It was hard not to crack a smile from how excited she seemed. And hey, if she was willing to do all of this for him, he could at least be a little grateful. ~~just wow he didn't get her anything OOPS?~~ ] It looks great, Yuno. Thanks.

[ Oh wait- ] Eh? You want to leave right now? [ A little surprised, and his own eyes drift to his clothes.

His jammies are cute okay. ]

... Alright. Just give me a minute.

[Yuno's just gonna wait for him

at the door of his room

[Oh-- the door is opening and there's Yukki and Yuno face to face.]

Good, you're ready! Where would you like to go for our Valentine's picnic?

[Yuno put her hands to her face and was blushing a bit as she asked. She didn't want to decide everything, that would be a little too pushy, after all!]

[ yeah yeah changing his clothes like a boss he's kinda liking this whole new leather jacket look

[ Until he walks out of his room and sees a face full of Yuno

Go? Well... [ Hold on you caught him off guard he has to think about this! ] I think I saw a nice place near the plaza. Do you want to try there first?

[Get that peanut out of here even if the face is just like Yukki's dskjgas]

Wherever you want to go is fine with me, Yukki!

[Yuno linked arms with him and then OFF TO THE PLAZA THEY WENT. Nothing was going to ruin her date. She'd put too much thought into today for that to happen.]

[ wow no peanuts forever man!!

Of course it was fine with her, but at the moment he was just glad she was so agreeable. ANYWAYS YUP OFF THEY GO but wow he could walk on his own. However, since he supposed it was a special occasion, maybe letting it slide this time would be alright.

But just this once okay. Cept not really.

Oh and yeah there wasn't as many people out and about today as far as Yukki could tell. So he really did pick a good spot? WOOT. ]

So uh, what did you bring with you, Yuno? [ Causal conversation starter right here. ]

[She had been expecting the plaza area to be bustling on this day, but it was pleasantly the opposite. Yukki chose a good place after all! She was glad about this. Everything kept making today look better and better~]

Oh, well of course I made all of your favorites! [Yuno proceeded to list them off. All of them. She even made that beef stew he likes so much, and that was hard to do with the limited amount of non-fish meat there was in Vatheon!

After a bit of walking she found a nice spot near a tree and decided it was a good area for a picnic.]

How's right here, Yukki?

[ Hey he can do something Right at least once in his life...

But as Yuno began to list off the different foods she made, Yukki couldn't help but feel the ends of his cheeks heat up. ] You really... made me all of that? [ How long did it take her to prepare all of that? Was she all up night!?

The more he thought about it, the brighter of hue of his cheeks became until Yuno finally settled on a spot. ]

Mmm, this is good. It's a nice spot.

If you don't believe me you can look in the basket. [Yuno handed it to him as they reached the spot they'd chosen. Yes, here was good.

After a moment of setting up it was even better than good, it was grrreat ~~yeah i just said that~~ and she sat down, staring intently at Yukki. Unsure of what she was exactly waiting for, Yuno was just so happy to have some time like this spent alone with the love of her life, okay? Her cheeks were warm, too.]

[ Sure, he believed her but it wouldn't hurt having a tiny peek into the basket. So once he received the item, Yukki carefully opened to glance wide eyed at the contents. ]

Wow Yuno, everything in here looks so delicious! [ The boy gleamed excitedly before setting it down in front of the two. This is the perfect way to his heart, tbh. Not your psycho stalking girly habits!!

But the more he thinks about it know, how Yuno prepared all of this for him, the more it dawns on him that he never gave her anything in return. W- was there something he could do to make up? But on this short of a notice?

Hold on thinking deep thoughts right now. ]

Thank you... [ Sh- should he? The boy shifts, eyes now lifting to meet her own. He may or may not be blushing a little bit himself. ]

[Yuno could help but smile pleasantly at Yukki complimenting her food- even before trying it! She'd spent so much time preparing it, wanting today to be as special for Yukki as it was for her to have this time with him, so hopefully the food tasted as great as it looked.

Even his 'thank you' made her exceedingly happy.]

You're welcome, Yukki! I'd do anything for you, so something like this...
I was almost afraid it wouldn't be enough! Since it's Valentine's Day and all.

No, it's alright. This is perfect. [ It wouldn't be enough? Wow Yuno, way to unintentionally stab him in the stomach.

But this is what people did for each other on Valentine's Day...right? It was a day for people to express their love for each other. Something that Yukki still found himself struggling with. But he at least had to do something!

The boy scoots a little closer. ] H- hey, Yuno? Do you mind if I...? [ He was going to do it. He was really going to do it!

And so he leans forward; the blush that innocently poked his cheeks now darkening with every inch the distance began to close in. H- he could do this! ~~He was a man!!~~

Just... a little... closer— ]

[Wh-what was Yukki doing?! He was making the first move for once?! This made Yuno flustered a bit-- Yukki you look so cute right now, you're blushing really badly!

But this was it, he was going to initiate a kiss on his own and she was so happy and nothing was going to ruin this moment okay? Nothing. This was a lovely couple moment and she was going to enjoy it so much, you don't even know!

Yuno shut her eyes, anticipating, and—]

[ i am going to ruin this exactly like kaye which is to say HAY GURL HAAAY—

ok no i can't. but alright so guess who's ~conveniently~ in the plaza area on valentine's day at the same time. wow yukiteru you're getting awfully close to yuno's face no stop you don't know where that's been—!! ]

Oh right, there was a logical explanation for this- Yukki forgot to turn off his swag. And that swag, which currently heard wind of Akise's voice, instantly withdrew with a sputter of unintelligible nonsense. In other words, he would be too embarrassed for anyone to see him kiss Yuno! ~~not like they were in a public area BUT DETAILS~~ ]

A- Akise-kun!? [ Yes, clearly someone was surprised to see you. Or maybe he's just saying something to make sure he was able to be audible. What with the massive blush scorching the front of his face, even he was unaware whether words could come out right.

Probably not. ] What... wh-what are you doing here?

[Yes so close Yuno can't wait for this ki-- the fuck, is that Akise? She opened her eyes again and sure enough there is that silver-haired prick walking up and ruining her perfect date she had planned ever since Yukki arrived.

Have a nice glare from her while Yukki acts all kawaii over there. A glare full of ~~intense love~~ hatred. Yuno's staying quiet for this right now, though.]

[ what is he doing? it's not obvious...? ]

Nothing in particular. Actually, I wanted to ask— [ there's a small 'hm?' sound when he's finally close enough to see the large picnic spread. ] ..I'm not interrupting anything, am I?

[ ok honestly it doesn't take a detective to figure out that the two were on a date, especially considering the day of the year it was— but he's going to play innocent and at least be as courteous as possible about interrupting it!! normally, he'd let it go; but he'd wanted to talk about a few things anyway, and getting yukiteru alone was a nigh impossible task— not to mention a public area was probably...safest. throw all of that in with the fact that he could prevent yukiteru from contracting yandere germs and we have a winning opportunity! yes, he notices yuno's glaring but that's not going to deter his smiling any. ]

[ Oh. Just hanging out? K. ]

Eh? Well... [ His eyes dart to the picnic Yuno had prepared, quickly considering his options. Ahhh, why did he have to come at a time like this!? There was only one right answer to this: ] No! No, you're not interrupting anything. Yuno just wanted to eat outside with me.

[ OH OKAY NOW HE'S STANDING UP. Subconsciously brushing at his pants legs to make it look like he's doing something and stall for a rightful composure. Yeah, he's alright now— cool. ]

Th- there was something you wanted to ask?

... Oh. Okay, so maybe standing up wasn't the Right Thing To Do, but that was the only thing his mind could resister at the moment. So we went with it. Now just excused him as the blush continues to grow from embarrassment. ]

Oh? O-okay...! [ The tone in his voice drops, his posture now reduced to stiff limbs and an overall awkward disposition.

The three of them together? Yeah, this was fine. This was just fine. ]

[No actually, it was far from fine. There was no reason for Akise to show up now of all times, Yuno'd rather just never see him at all. This was the first time they'd met in person in Vatheon, too, now that she thought about it.

But it's not like she could make Akise disappear. That's not how things worked...unless she killed him. Yuno linked her arm to Yukki's and tugged a bit.]

Come on Yukki, didn't you forget we were on a date?

[ WOW OKAY yukiteru says he's not busy, but yuno says they're on a date— clearly yuno is delusional, and that's sadly not even an overexaggeration for her. though truthfully akise realizes they were on a date, and yukiteru is probably denying it in a fluster due to embarrassment— but that doesn't mean he can't blatantly ignore yuno!! ]

You heard about the murder, right?

[ good ways to start casual conversations, yes. although this is akise's "world" so it's not so weird for him. ]

[ Oh wow okay. That's cool, he didn't need to use that arm anyways. His body tilted ever so slightly when she tugged on him, and Yukki shot her a tiny glance. He knows that, but the men were having a conversation right now! ] I-I know we are, but— [ hold up ]

Wait, murder? What murder!? [ His eyes flash alarmingly in Akise's direction- shoulders stiff.

This isn't exactly what Yukiteru would call a causal conversation, but it certainly did get this attention. Wait, no one was suppose to die here. Everyone is suppose to live in this happy bubble and make friends!!

Way 2 ruin things, guys. ]

Oh, the murder that happened in our apartment complex yesterday. [Yep Yuno's just gonna act completely casual about it, nbd. Too busy holding on to a certain somebody's arm. Yukki you're so cute, not paying attention to big events happening next door to your house or even on the SFC network!]

Eridan did it, right? It was on the video.

Yes, that one! [ kind of pointing in gasai's direction to acknowledge her input, although his attention is still primarily focused on yukiteru. as expected of gasai, she has an answer for nearly everything— and if she doesn't, she'll just ignore it... so she'd already thought this out, then. ]

It happened directly next door to you. You didn't hear about it? [ LMFAO YUKITERU... and in response to gasai once again— ]

A lot of people are saying that, but he really only found the body.

[ WHY WAS THIS NEWS TO HIM?? Eyes turning wildly between the two, the fear in his face grew. ]

I didn't hear anything about it... [ Alright, Yukki wasn't that oblivious, but... what did he even do yesterday? It seemed mostly a blur to him- maybe he went out? Or stayed in his room all day. So why didn't he hear it? ]

You don't think he really was the killer, then? [ Oh man, that means the person who did kill him then was still running around and close by, too! Yeah, Yukiteru is a bit tense at the moment, but Yuno's weight against him did make him feel a bit more at ease. She was going to protect him, right? ]

I made you breakfast and then you mostly hung out at home with me, Yukki. Remember?

[Oh Yukki, why can you not even remembered what you did the day before? Your memory can't be that horrible, could it? The fright on his face and the way his body tensed up would indicate it truly was. But Yuno knew fully well what Mr. Wannabee Detective was talking about. What all did he know..?]

You didn't notice until after the information was made public, Gasai-san? The killer was only meters away from where you were at the time. Had you or Yukiteru-kun been a target, you might've been in trouble.

I've no certainty in the culprit, but from the look of things I believe Eridan was framed.
