31st Combo - Searching for people who need hugs

[Lloyd's on a mission. He has no doubt it'll probably be awkward at some points, but it's an important one nonetheless. The nurse told him that people need hugs to keep warm, but not everyone would know that. Who knew who might be freezing to death because they didn't know what they needed to cure it?

Not that hugs fix the problem completely. The effect of the last hug Lloyd had gotten is already starting to wear off. Still, once people know, it'll be easier for them to make sure they get enough physical contact to keep them warm.

So here he is, searching for anyone who looks like they need a hug.]

[Lloyd eyes her for a moment, trying to figure out if she really is fine, or if she's just saying it the same way Colette says it, trying to convince people she's okay when she's not. He's never really been good at picking up on subtle things like that, though, so even looking for it, he still can't tell. It's just easier to ask flat out.]

[Altruistic intentions or not, he can feel his face heating up - a weird sensation because it's not actually warming him. But offering a hug to a girl he doesn't know, even if he has a good reason, is still enough to make him blush and fidget. Man, this curse...]

[Ah, she recalled that physical contact was something you were meant to do during this curse, but Minako wasn't exactly someone who could ask someone so easily, it made her blush just thinking about it.]

Are you under the curse too? [It would make sense as to why he would mention a hug, which while one would love to jump at the chance to hug a boy, Minako wasn't exactly the type. At least, not openly.]

[He... probably should have asked first if she knew that hugs were part of the cure for the curse, but oh well, it looks like she did. That makes this a little easier.

[She didn't answer his question. Lloyd takes a breath. Come on, Lloyd man up.]

You're cold, right? I'm... I'm a little cold, too. We could... you know...

[Minako stood there for a moment, arms lightly wrapped around herself, getting that tiniest bit more colder.]

I am cold. it's like we're in the north pole, I'm that cold. [She shivers ever so slightly before she slowly starts to assume what he means. She might have assumed the wrong thing.]

We could what? I really hope it's not what I thought it was because I'm a little too young for that.

Too... young...?

[Lloyd stares at Minako, cold temporarily forgotten.]

How can you be too young for that?

[Nobody's too young for hugs!

...yeah, he's totally missing what Minako thinks he's implying. O o p s.]

Easy. It's not something for young people to do. I mean, older teenagers, or adults might but.. [She says shaking her head.]

I don't want to think about it.

I've been hugging people for as long as I can remember.

Wait... [She tilts her head. Oh! Now it makes perfect sense.]

You mean a hug. [She laughs, hand behind her head.] You could of just said so.

I thought you already knew. You said you already knew about the curse, so I thought you knew that hugs were how you fix it. [Still staring at her, because it's still not making sense.] What did you think I was talking about?

Well, no. [She didn't know exactly.] I didn't know that hugs worked.

[She flashes a shade of red.] It's just best to never mention it, ever.

Oh. Well, they do. I've already hugged some people, so I know they really help. You sure you didn't want one? You look pretty cold. Even your cheeks are turning a little red.

[He pauses, scratching the back of his head.]

O...kay... I don't know what it is I'm not mentioning, but... [He smiles.] I guess that means I definitely won't mention it, right?

I think I'll be fine, now I know what it is. [She'll stop being red to. Moving on. Moving on.]

[He holds out his hand.]

[A small puff of warmth spreads through him at the same time that they shake hands. Lloyd blinks in surprise. The nurse had only mentioned that hugs worked with warmth. He hadn't realized it might work with other contact.

I never said anything about being a statue, but if people want to make one of me when I hit it big, I won't question it.

But isn't that what idols are? My Professor used to show us all these pictures in our history book that had idols people used to worship.

Yes, it totally counts even it was the part the had to do with looking at pictures.]

No, that's not what an idol is. An idol is very much a celebrity where I'm from. They are so beautiful and can sing, dance, act and model. they are amazing.

[It's the only thing she's ever wanted to be and works hard for it. Or at least tries anyway.]

[Lloyd blinks, letting that sink in. Then he opens his mouth and... doesn't really think before blurting his thoughts out.]

So, can you sing or dance or act? You already look pretty to me.

[Then his thoughts catch up with what just came out of his mouth.]

[Alkasdjfaslk. Turning bright red!]

[She can't help but laugh slightly, putting a hand in front of her mouth.]

It's okay. It just means your not from the world I know of.

[Yeah, still pink.]

[She shakes her head slightly.]

That's not a country where I'm from, so no. I haven't heard of it before.

[Well, he can't say he's really surprised. Still, he'll just double-check.]
