[It's not uncommon to see Sola wandering around with a hat on. In fact, he's rarely seen without it. He only really takes it off at night and immediately plops it back on his head when he gets up in the morning, only this week someone seems to be playing silly buggers and replacing his hat with others on different days.

On Monday Sola can be found standing quiet seriously and still in front of the coral, holding his sheathed sword like a rifle against his shoulder and sporting a bearskin. He seems dead set on keeping a straight face for whatever reason. It might just be way too tempting to see what one can do to break that stalwart vigil...

On Wednesday the Hylian is much more active, though not even remotely himself. He can be found clucking and bawking in a chicken hat, apparently believing he's a member of the poultry. Just don't attack him! He is a Hyrulean chicken, after all.

For all the shenanigans earlier in the week, Friday is by far the worst. Sola can be found walking ridiculously bow-legged around town, chewing on imaginary tobacco and sporting a very large cowboy hat. For all intents and purposes he seems thoroughly convinced that he's a genuine desperado. But his accent? It's utterly atrocious.]

Sufferer puts one hand on Sola's head to hopefully calm that ominous clucking, and looks blankly at Dualscar. "Sola would not be a minion of evil! He's a good kid, and now he's a good chicken."

"Bawk," Sola clucks with finality, bobbing his head once and keeping close to Sufferer, though he doesn't take his eyes off of Dualscar, as if just waiting for him to make one wrong move...

"I ain't sayin' he's intendin' to be evvil," Dualscar protests, still giving Sola a wary look. "But it could be that evvil's made him like this, all cluck-beast-like. He wwasn't like that before."

Sufferer could point out that Dualscar wasn't like this before either, but he'd be wasting his breath. Instead, he sighs and pats Sola's head again. "Look at him, Dualscar. You're not afraid of him, are you? He couldn't possibly do anything to hurt someone as strong and powerful as you."

Overkill? Probably, but he wants everyone to get along for now.

Insofar as a chicken can sound incedulous, that's the sort of noise that Sola makes. Strong and powerful? Please. Honestly it's really only Sufferer's hand on his head that keeps him from pecking the bejegus out of Dualscar's toes.

He flaps his arms a bit and preens, as if nothing the sea troll says has any meaning or import.

"Afraid? A course I'm not afraid! I'm just wwarnin' you on account a the fact that he's clearly been altered by a vvillain." He hovers a little, worried that the chickenized Sola will suddenly attack his beloved sidekick. "He's a poor vvictim, is all, an wwe should wwatch ovver him to make sure he doesn't get into any mischief."

"Excellent!" Sufferer breezes past Dualscar, trying to lead Sola deeper into the hive. "So he can stay here and I'll take care of him so he doesn't get into any mischief until he doesn't think he's a chicken anymore!"

That was far too easy.

"Bawk cluck baawk!" I'm not evil!

Sola will not be lead, so tired of Dualscar's assumptions about him. Like he would ever in a million years hurt Sufferer! No way! He puffs his chest further, posturing at Dualscar in a decidedly irritated manner, ready to peck him if he says even one more irritating thing.

You're right Sufferer, it was far too easy.

Dualscar moves aside, eyeing Sola suspiciously as he starts posturing at him. "Wwhy's he bein' so aggressivve now, then?"

Sufferer moves to get between them, murmuring softly to Sola to try and get him calmed down. "I don't think he likes you very much."

Sola just glares at Dualscar around Sufferer's side. Got it in one.

"I think you're right." Dualscar gives Sola an arch look. "Though I can't imagine wwhy. I'vve alwways been perfectly civvil to him."

Sufferer strokes Sola's head, trying to distract him. Dualscar may have been civil to Sola, but that's not the same thing as being nice, and Sufferer knows that Sola, even in his right mind, might not get the distinction. "He's in a pretty short temper right now, Dualscar. I think it might be best if you left him alone." He looks over his shoulder and smiles at his moirail. "Don't worry, I know he won't hurt me."

No, no he most definitely doesn't. As far as Sola knows, rude and bad go hand in hand, especially with someone like Dualscar going on about being inherently better than everyone. Even if he is royalty, that doesn't mean he's better than people, it just means he has more responsibility! Calling Sola a villain or whatever didn't get him any brownie points either.

It's true Sola would never hurt his trolldad, but Dualscar? Well. He really doesn't like the look on the taller troll's face. Or just his face in general. Sola stands on his tiptoes and flaps out his arms, crowing in a manner that clearly means keep away and is not at all impressive or scary in the slightest even if it's obviously intended to be.

Dualscar shifts a bit from foot to foot, scowling more deeply. He's not comfortable leaving his sidekick alone with such an obviously aggressive person who isn't in his right mind, but his own presence seems to be making things worse.

He inclines his head and turns away, obviously unimpressed by the crowing. "I'll just go fix you a little tea," he says. "An should I get him a bit a corn?"

"Thank you, Dualscar." Sufferer smiles ruefully at Sola and tries to herd him into the living room. "I think he'd like some corn, yes."

Hopefully he can get Sola settled on the couch with him before the tea is done.
