[It's not uncommon to see Sola wandering around with a hat on. In fact, he's rarely seen without it. He only really takes it off at night and immediately plops it back on his head when he gets up in the morning, only this week someone seems to be playing silly buggers and replacing his hat with others on different days.

On Monday Sola can be found standing quiet seriously and still in front of the coral, holding his sheathed sword like a rifle against his shoulder and sporting a bearskin. He seems dead set on keeping a straight face for whatever reason. It might just be way too tempting to see what one can do to break that stalwart vigil...

On Wednesday the Hylian is much more active, though not even remotely himself. He can be found clucking and bawking in a chicken hat, apparently believing he's a member of the poultry. Just don't attack him! He is a Hyrulean chicken, after all.

For all the shenanigans earlier in the week, Friday is by far the worst. Sola can be found walking ridiculously bow-legged around town, chewing on imaginary tobacco and sporting a very large cowboy hat. For all intents and purposes he seems thoroughly convinced that he's a genuine desperado. But his accent? It's utterly atrocious.]

So far, Sufferer has avoided putting on a hat, although a very intrepid one keeps appearing near him wherever he goes. Today he's out walking around when he sees one of his proclaimed children, acting... very strangely. He gets a little closer.

"Sola? Are you okay?"

"Bawk? Bawk!" Sola's face lights up into a great big smile when he sees Sufferer and he struts his way over, bobbing his head and flapping his elbows as he goes.

Friday

[Well, this is sure to be good.

Dirk has nothing like a Texan accent, or anything that would be found in the average Wild West. It's the kind of thing that's hard to get when you grow up listening to media from all over, and not hearing other people talk.

But the hat and the swaggering walk make this far too interesting to pass up.]

Howdy, Dirk! What brings you to this here'n part-a town, buckaroo?

MONDAY

[It's early enough in the curse that Laharl hasn't yet figured out what's going on. He's noticed a few more hats around but hasn't paid them any attention. That is, until he spots Sola in that particularly ridiculous one, standing around like he's on guard.]

What the heck are you doing?

[Sola does notice Laharl - was that a quick flick of his eyes to the demon overlord and then back to front? - but he makes an effort not to react, simply standing still and straight, seemingly guarding the coral even though he's not preventing anyone from touching it at all, which kind of defeats the purpose.]

[That's unusual. Between Sola's mistaken belief that they're friends and his habit of taking offense to every other thing Laharl says, this complete non-reaction is a little baffling. Maybe he's trying some new passive-aggressive thing? But Laharl doesn't remember them arguing the last time they ran into each other.]

Are you ignoring me?

[Yes, that seems to be precisely what he's doing. Not even gonna look at you this time, Laharl. Just eyes front and a blank face.]

[Hmm.]

Where'd you find this hat anyway? It looks like you're wearing a dead animal on your head.

[And he's going to invade Sola's personal space enough to prod him in the forehead.]

[Sola does close his eyes as Laharl's finger comes in for the jab, but he doesn't make a sound, nor does he move or even look irritated at the dead animal comment!

..okay he looks a tiny bit irritated. Maybe.

Actually he's not very good at this.]

[Ah, there's a little reaction. Laharl smirks.]

It even kinda smells like one. Unless that's you.

[Sola almost opens his mouth to retort but stops himself at the last moment, tilting his chin up a bit in a show of pride in his position. He will not be moved!]

Sola's smile charms Sufferer, as always, but the chicken thing is a little strange. When Sola gets close enough, Sufferer reaches out to put a hand on his shoulder. "Are you feeling all right?"

Wednesday

*Pascal isn't facing Sola, and in fact hasn't even noticed the man walking around sounding like a chicken. Somehow.*

... Why do I suddenly feel a strong sense of impending doom?

That's a lot of dedication you've got for no good reason. You're not even scaring anyone off.

"Bawk!" He's just gonna rub the beak of his hat against Sufferer's arm. Apparently it's a sign of affection. It would be hard to tell save for he's still smiling.

"Cluck?" Doom? He doesn't feel like there's doom. Still, Sola looks around, hands tucked into his armpits to simulate wings.

[No that is not a frown shut up! Sola's hands tighten on his weapon and his ears seem to even be quivering with annoyance, but he doggedly continues to stare straight ahead and ignore Laharl.]

Anyone could just stroll behind you and stab you in the back, easy as that.

[Laharl has no actual intention of stabbing, but he is going to step behind Sola out of sight.]

"Uh..." Sufferer gently pats the chicken head part of the head. "Nice... Sola chicken?"

[Well that's just fine. Sola stamps one foot, then the other, and proceeds to march 20 paces either way across the plaza in front of the fountain, still staring straight ahead and trying to ignore Laharl's messing around. It's not working that well. He desperately wants to turn around and see what the heck the demon is up to.]

Sola coos gently, a noise more for a dove than a chicken, and proceeds to scratch at the ground with his feet and make a show of pecking with the beak on the hat.

"Are you hungry?" Sufferer gets into his sylladex, where he now carries fresh bread every day in case he runs into Milenko, and gets out a croissant. He crumbles it between his fingers and offers a handful to Sola. "Here you go."

Sola's face lights up and he makes all kinds of excited clucking noises as he leans over to peck at the crumbs in Sufferer's hands. Which... well, that gets more crumbs on his face than in his mouth, but he seems happy enough regardless.

This is very, very weird, but Sufferer is just going to run with it. He waits until Sola is done pecking, then taps him on his (human) shoulder. "Do you want to come with me?" He starts slowly walking backwards, away from Sola. "Come on, Sola, come with me!"
