Who: Karkat Vantas and whoever!
Where: All across Vatheon.
When: Anytime during the week.
Style: Action please!
Status: Open.
[A curse that makes you say the truth no matter what you want is not exactly Karkat's idea of a fun time. He's not much a liar, no, and his worst secret isn't so secret around Vatheon anymore, but that's not the point. What's the point of being open if it's forced from you? And as outwardly prickly a guy as he is, he doesn't want his squishy inside exposed at will.]
[Unfortunately, as is true for every curse, life doesn't stop just because you're inconvenienced. There are groceries to get, his job at a video store to do, the coral to visit, and his usual sickle practice in the park. He tries to avoid people if he can, oh yes, but there's only so much he can do. Even if he evades them outside the hive, he can't exactly send mental waves to stop them from coming to visit him at home, if that's their prerogative. Ultimately, he's bound to run into more annoyance than he'd like. But what else is new?]
(OOC: This is pretty standard! Pick a place to meet him, and feel free to note a specific day if you have one in mind, though the second probably isn't too necessary. If there's any problem I'll let you know.)

[Whelp. That was painfully honest, and Equius looks flabberghasted for a moment before his expression changes to extreme irritation.]
What about you? Why do you always assume everything others are doing has anything to do with you?
no subject
Because you were staring at me, dipshit. Who else was it supposed to be about?
no subject
Not just now, you fool, but in general.
no subject
Because I've built up my anger and reactive personality as a defensive outer shell, since it feels safer to attack even false threats than to miss the real ones. Fuck you with the pronged end of a rake, Equius Zahhak.
no subject
That's not that much different from why I stare and act the way I do. And no, because you broke up with me and I'm not that kind of troll.
[Pause.]
This curse is awful.
no subject
[But he can't summon much more ire than that. He sighs, and his shoulders sink down a notch.]
No shit it is. Listen, can we just call a truce or something? At least for as long as this lasts, because otherwise it'll turn into something stupid - more than already is - and there's not even kismesissitude to give it a purpose now.
no subject
[Facepalm. Stupid curse.]
That would probably be for the best. Otherwise I might say something stupid like I miss you.
[Dammit!]
Which I do.
[DAMMIT!]
(1/2)
(2/2)
Is that why you've been going out of your way to piss me off lately? Is that why you were staring at me just now?
no subject
Do we have to talk about this now?
no subject
[Outside this curse, he means. Who cares about the truce if he can get this explanation out of him, right?]
no subject
[Equius sees what your truce means to you, Karkat!]
... yes. I miss you. [Time to turn this around!] Do you miss me?
no subject
No. If anything it's been bothering me that you do all this now instead of when we were together. I'm not going to jump back in because you put in a little effort now that it's over, not when it got that plain at the end. It wasn't even a rivalry by then; it was just the two of us slinging insults and trading punches when curses allowed, and that's not what a kismesissitude should be.
no subject
Then why didn't you say anything when things started going bad? You know my limitations, and you know I have to wait for curses to do anything physical.
no subject
[He looks up, a frown on his own face edging into eyes and eyebrows as well as his mouth.]
I'm not going to pretend that wasn't frustrating, but we found ways to work around it, and it's not why I got tired of things. I'm saying all we did was trade boring, repetitive jabs at each other, verbally or textually or on the rare occasion physically. There wasn't enough to keep my interest, and so it died off, and my hate cooled to something platonic. I wasn't motivated to make you hate me more, or to hate you more myself. It wasn't wanting to tear you down and find all your weaknesses and make you fight harder just to get the chance against me; I just disliked you a lot and sometimes we kissed about it.
I know it wasn't always like that, and if you hadn't impressed me enough at the start I never would have gave it a shot, but somewhere along the line - or over time, I don't know - it just turned the way it did, and that's why I fell out of hate.
no subject
You're still incredibly repugnant.
[Sigh.]
But I can understand that, I suppose. I might miss you, but I don't particularly want you back, either.
[Blink blink. Until he'd said it, he didn't know it was true.]
no subject
[Of course, he's not saying that much if he doesn't have to.]
And? I didn't discover some heretofore unseen desire to be friends with you instead. You stink, you disgust me, and it's hyperbolically a hundred times easier to hate you than it is to like such a freak. Platonically, as if that part weren't already obvious.
But if you don't want me back, then fine. We're agreed. Now will you stay out of my conversations? Maybe somewhere down the line I'll get used to your dickishness again, but like I said I don't want to deal with it just yet.
no subject
[Short, sweet, and to the point.]
no subject
Your commitment to douchebaggery never dies, does it? I'll figure out a way to block you on my SFC if that's what it takes, don't think I won't.
no subject
[Smirk.]
Do you really think you know more about technology than I do?
no subject
[Stupid curse.]
But--
[His mouth outright refuses to make the words he wants. After struggling for a moment or two to profess his talent for computer viruses, he gives up and instead says:]
--I know about coding and my best friend is Sollux. Do not underestimate me.
no subject
[Equius senses an opportunity here, and tries to seize it.]
Why don't you tell me how much better than you I am at technology? Tell me all about my skills in that area.
no subject
[He does. They generally don't do what he wants, but that's a technicality. A groan is his first answer to the question.]
You're good at making robots and I don't know shit about them. That's all you're getting, because this is stupid and I'm leaving now.
[Which, if he can, he will turn to do right now. Just gonna storm off, yep.]
