[About a year ago, the area near the Forest Quadrant shook mildly from miniature quakes.

Now, just over a year later, the area near the Forest Quadrant is shaking from miniature quakes. Except this time, they're stronger.

If one were to investigate their source, it would be traced back to to the Embryon base, a spartan 3 floor abandoned building with a flourishing pond and garden and orange paint on the doors. If one approaches from the Lower District, they would spot Serph and a demon in the garden with some new holes in the concrete. But if one approaches from the direction of the forest, they would spot Serph and the... front... of the demon...................... Around them are sacks of dirt, as well as various potted plants and seed packets.

At a nod from Serph, Argilla, in her demon form, splits open a new hole in the concrete with yet another ground shaking spell.

[Something almost unbearably terrible has happened to Zelda every day for three days in a row now. By the fourth, she's more than a little paranoid. When that quaking starts, all she can think is "here it comes". She runs out to the Forest Quadrant, temporarily forgetting that Serph said he'd be doing gardening soon...]

[Until she sees what's happening. Oh. Well, that... sure is a demon she hasn't seen before. She wonders if she's seen their human form, maybe?]

Ah, hello, Serph. I see you are gardening again?

[beauchevalier]

[Curiosity knows no bounds for Angelo, so he investigates from the Lower District region. Upon reaching the source, he finds Serph and what appeared to be a demon next to him in a garden area. He's never been around Serph's home much, but this is quite a sight to see. Yet, he makes his presence known.]

Well well. I see you're working hard as ever, Serph. [His eyes turn to the demon.] And I'm to assume this is an acquaintance of yours?

[teradine]

[Zelda is someone Argilla has likely seen around the city, even if they haven't officially spoken. Though it's Serph that Zelda greets, she can't help but watch closely as the princess approaches with a watchful eye.

She won't keep him from answering the question, but she isn't one to really stay silent either.]

Hello.

[She stops what she's doing for the moment to give her full attention.]

[teradine]

[Argilla is just inspecting the new hole she's created when Angelo approaches. When he turns to face her, she does the same; and since he's addressed her directly, she sees no reason not to reply, even though Serph is as quiet as he's always been.]

Argilla.

[Her voice echoes a bit unusually; but Angelo doesn't seem the type to be bothered by that.]

[bufudine]

[Serph turns at the sound of Zelda's voice, and observes the brief interaction between Argilla and Zelda. It doesn't seem like Argilla has met Zelda before, so he nods, answering Zelda's question. Gesturing towards Argilla, he introduces her.]

Zelda, this is Argilla.

[To Argilla, he says.]

Zelda has helped the Tribe greatly since our arrival.

[bufudine]

[Serph nods.]

She's Tribe.

[IF THE DEMON DIDN'T TIP YOU OFF. But Argilla is more than an acquaintance; she's his comrade. Turning his attention to Argilla, he introduces Angelo.]

This is Angelo. I work with him in the Defense Force and Host Club.

[beauchevalier]

[He's slightly terrified of the teethbreasts at first, but knows not to be afraid since she's one of Serph's friends.]

A pleasure to meet you, Argilla.

[But then his attention goes back towards Serph.]

Perhaps I may be able to help with your project?

[teradine]

[They're just mouths, honestly. She's seen far more intimidating demons back home -- but she gives a bit of a nod when they are introduced, as a way of saying 'Nice to meet you, too.']

If you'd like.

Do you have much experience with flowers?

[bufudine]

[Serph's more than happy to take a back seat in this conversation, only nodding in acceptance of Angelo's help. It doesn't exactly occur to him that people would even have a problem with Argilla's mouths.

While those two talk, Serph briefly steps away from the conversation to grab one of the unopened sacks of soil.]

[Angelo watches Serph from the corner of his eye, but keeps his focus on Argilla.]

I use them for inspiration when I paint, but I've never tended to or grown them myself. Though I would very much like to learn, if that's all right.

[paladaddy]

[Shiro was going to ignore the quakes at first. He's from Japan, so little earthquakes certainly aren't anything new to him.

But then he remembers something: not too long ago, the demon prince of earth was in Vatheon. Amaimon has since gone home, but if he's been here once then it's possible for him to be here again, and earthquakes often follow him where he goes.

It's better to just check and make sure it's not him, Shiro decides. There's no harm in just looking.

He's armed to the teeth when he does show up, though. A shotgun over his shoulder, extra ammunition shoved in his pockets, a few canteens of holy water stashed away, and so forth. Only the shotgun is readily visible, thanks to the coat, but he's packing heat just in case a certain son of Satan really is back and messing with things. Just as a precaution, mostly.

So imagine his surprise when he finds not a demon, but a guy and a...something. He's not sure what Argilla is, his mind assumes she's a demon but his gut is telling him it's more complicated than that. Nothing is ever simple in Vatheon.]

...Well. This is quite a sight.

[donotcomprehend]

[There's no need to investigate when he knows what the cause of it, but Gale follows the earthquakes outside anyway. Just because he can't contribute to digging the holes at the moment doesn't mean he can't help with the rest of the gardening!]

Will it be ready soon?

[teradine]

[Argilla remains quiet for a moment as she takes in his answer; and when she hears Serph grabbing the bag of soil, she turns to look at him. With the holes made, she supposes there's nothing else to be done but fill them and plant the various seeds and plants -- then water them.

. . . So with a glow of the tattoo on her chest, she reverts back to human form. Where the powerful demon once stood, there is a woman with long pink hair, raised in buns.]

I don't see why you can't.

. . . Come.

[Let them follow Serph's example!]

[teradine]

[Actually, demon suits them just fine. Or Atma, to be technical, but that's an explanation for another day -- and for when Shiro is acting much less suspiciously. He's obviously hostile, judging by his weapon, though the tone in his words isn't -- and as a result, Argilla has no choice but to keep her guard up until she learns more.

They opened their base to visitors, but . . . Argilla would always be Argilla.]

Who are you?

[Her voice echoes like that of a demon, and for a moment, she sets aside her gardening duties.]

[teradine]

[One day, someone will teach them about shovels and proper digging. But seeing as how today is not that day, Argilla's just going to keep on doing this in the only way she knows how. The fun way!

The debris and dirt that all goes airborne from her last attack clears, and she turns her head to see Gale.

As Cielo would say: 'Sup, bro.]

This should be enough for a start. I can always make more.

[Holes, that is. If needed.]

[Rinoa picked a heck of a day to visit the base. She's well nearly there when she feels the first quake. An earthquake, underwater? Didn't that mean a tsunami?? (How did the bubble fare against those, anyway?). Or maybe it's another attack? In that case, she needs to hurry.

Off to the base she goes, doubling her pace as she speeds through the trees. What if the attack was at the base? It would be her luck, now that her normal powers were back, and she no longer had the healing forte from during the curse.

But all her fears are dashed when she emerges from the trees. Instead of smoke and ruins, she's greeted with dirt and more dirt. Her head is tilted to the side as she slowly approaches.]

Guys?

[teradine]

[It is indeed a lot of dirt. But luckily Argilla is done for now, so there shouldn't be much more of that. A bunch of holes are left in the wake of the multiple Teradyne spells cast, and now all that's left is to use them.

She turns though, when she hears her friend's voice.]

Rinoa!

[Her voice echoes a bit more than usual, but it's otherwise recognizable. She sounds happy, though the concerned look on Rinoa's face is . . . concerning.]

Come to help us?

[bufudine]

[Serph turns his head when the stranger approaches, but does not react with any hostility, despite the shotgun; it's not unusual to carry a weapon in Vatheon.

Argilla has already engaged, so Serph doesn't say anything, watching Shiro's response carefully.]

[bufudine]

[Hi Gale! Serph gives him a nod in greeting before stepping away to bring a bag of dirt over. It's not open yet, so Gale, if you would do the honours?]

[bufudine]

[Serph turns at the sound of Rinoa's voice, nodding in greeting. Since Argilla's already said his words for him, Serph just gives Rinoa the smallest of encouraging smiles.

Yes, yes, join them~]

[bufudine]

[While they're chatting, Serph's just going to take out a knife to cut open the bag of soil he has before he tips it over, pouring out the soil into the hole in the ground.]

I came to visit, but then I felt the quakes...

[Wut are you guys doing]

Why are you digging up your entire yard?

[beauchevalier]

[Well now that he's seen Argilla true form, he might want to hit on her. So, he does his best attempt to woo her.]

My, you're quite beautiful when you're not in that other form. Perhaps we may get to know one another better?

[paladaddy]

[Well, the demon can talk, so that gives him hope for a peaceful end to this.]

I'm Shiro Fujimoto, Paladin of the True Cross Order.

[He gives his full title here mostly out of habit. It's something he always had to do back home when speaking with demons, because being forthcoming with such information was often vital to survival. Old habits die hard.]

I felt the tremors coming from this area, and I thought I'd come investigate. Nobody is causing trouble for you two, right?

[It's still possible for the demon Shiro was expecting to see to be prowling around here.]
