Mituna sat on the doorstep of his hive, only a few doors down in the same neighbourhood as his new friend Nepeta. He pressed his fingertips together and smiled faintly to himself as he thought that. A new friend. Someone who didn't pity him or treat him like an idiot, who didn't disguise belittlement as patience or openly poke fun at his lisp or his poor balance or deliberately aggravate him into fits of spluttered swearing. Someone he didn't need protecting from. After spending so long with the same group of trolls, half of whom he actively avoided and only a small number of which he truly enjoyed spending time with.

He didn't have his helmet on again today - something he'd been doing more frequently recently - so his hair was in its usual messy dandelion puff on top of his head, shifting slightly as he looked up and down the street. The clothes he had on obviously weren't his, and they were a little too big, really doing no favours for his already scarecrow-like stature. Of course, that was what this little trip out was all about.

The yellowblood fidgeted as he waited, tapping his feet against the floor and making distracted twitchy movements now and then, rubbing his thumbs across the insides of his fingers, shifting position only to shift back a moment later.

At the instant approval he grins widely, rubbing one hand up against the back of his hair. When she reaches up to fix his hood, he bends down slightly and presses his fingertips to the nearest wall to keep his balance, then puffs his hair out of his face to better see himself in the nearest mirror.

He spends a while longer than he needs peering at himself, going close up to the reflective surface, pushing his fingers through his mop of hair as if trying to organise it. He brushes his fingertips lightly over the coloured scars on his face before scraping his hair down to cover them up, then he steps back, checks himself out for another moment, and looks over to Nepeta.

"I look better than Tholluxth," he tells her with a grin, still remembering what the other yellowblood had looked like when Feferi had got her hands on him.

"Well, you don't have Feferi trying to dress you up! Then you'd have ended up just like him," Nepeta points out, trying to be fair. She likes Sollux too, and doesn't really want to laugh at him behind his back, especially when she knows he was just humoring Feferi when the video of him in those clothes got spread over the Network.

"Try the other one now!"

"You're better at thith," he comments, not really feeling all too terrible about mocking Sollux.. he's sure the other yellowblood would do the same for him. Good friend, right there. Best friend.

But he rolls his eyes and goes back into the changing room to try on the sweater. He's gone for a bit longer this time.. mostly because he's admiring himself in the smaller mirror in the cubicle for a little while before he comes out again.

"I'm just making sure to choose the colours that you like!" she insists. She really isn't all that good at picking out clothes, unless they happen to be costumes for a roleplay.

Speaking of which...when Mituna takes long to come out again she goes wandering around the shop for a while, and by the time he comes out she's found something she thinks is particularly appropriate for him!

He grins widely when he sees what she's got. It even matches the sweater he has on!

"It lookth like a bee!" he points out excitedly, clapping his hands together once. He ducks down some so she can put it on his head - prime hair-touching opportunity, Nepeta!

"I know! It's pawesome, isn't it? Sollux will be so jealous," she points out (though it wasn't completely true, as she'd got him something similar once). But still, it's good to see Mituna so pleased with her choice! Even more so when it means she's presented with those long-admired fluffy waves of hair.

It's almost more than she can stand! She carefully fixes his hair a little - so soft! and fluffy! - and fits the hat onto his head, making sure the antennas are in the right position.

Ssh, Mituna doesn't know that. His shoulders scrunch up when she moves his hair, but he doesn't shy away any more than that. Nepeta is very easy to like, and like her he does.

He lifts his hands up to pat over the hat, then grins again. "Yeth, awethome," he says, moving his head so the antenna on the hat wiggle slightly.

"It's just like a bee! Oh, look, look! It's cute and purrfect for you, uh huh!" She never thought she'd be all that good at picking out clothes for people - she knows Kanaya would certainly never approve of her choices at least! - but as she watches Mituna so very pleased with his new outfit, she thinks that she's actually done a rather good job.
