Who: Mituna Captor and Nepeta Leijon

Where: All around!

Mituna sat on the doorstep of his hive, only a few doors down in the same neighbourhood as his new friend Nepeta. He pressed his fingertips together and smiled faintly to himself as he thought that. A new friend. Someone who didn't pity him or treat him like an idiot, who didn't disguise belittlement as patience or openly poke fun at his lisp or his poor balance or deliberately aggravate him into fits of spluttered swearing. Someone he didn't need protecting from. After spending so long with the same group of trolls, half of whom he actively avoided and only a small number of which he truly enjoyed spending time with.
He didn't have his helmet on again today - something he'd been doing more frequently recently - so his hair was in its usual messy dandelion puff on top of his head, shifting slightly as he looked up and down the street. The clothes he had on obviously weren't his, and they were a little too big, really doing no favours for his already scarecrow-like stature. Of course, that was what this little trip out was all about.
The yellowblood fidgeted as he waited, tapping his feet against the floor and making distracted twitchy movements now and then, rubbing his thumbs across the insides of his fingers, shifting position only to shift back a moment later.

She's easy to spot as soon as she skips out of her hive, all bright blues with her kitty hat and tail, energy night-on bursting out of her as usual. She heads towards Mituna at a run, both hands waving at him and a wide, toothy grin on her face. "I'm here! I'm here! You didn't wait too long, did you? You can come to my hive to get me next time if you like, if I take too long!"

Shopping trips? Not really something he's used to doing. He shoots the oliveblood a crooked, toothy grin and gives a jerky shrug of one shoulder. "Didn't fthucking mind waiting." His mental state doesn't give much leeway to care one way or the other, but she's here now, so it's fine. The bubble is a peaceful enough place to wait around in, when weird things aren't happening.

"It's good to see you again, Mituna!" is added in greeting, and she opens her arms and takes a step forward to see if he'll let her give him a hug. She knows he's a bit twitchy about contact sometimes, but if he doesn't pull away she'll hope that it's okay for her to give him one. She thinks it'll do him good!

He hesitates when she opens her arms like that - he's not daft enough to not understand what she wants from him - but it only lasts a moment. Despite the height difference between them he slips his arms in under hers and bends down, resting his chin against her shoulder.
no subject
And she's touched by the way he chooses to respond to her hug, and obligingly goes up on tiptoes so that he doesn't have to bend down too much. She wraps her arms around his neck gently and gives him a careful cuddle, nuzzling her face into his fluffy mop of hair.

"Tho we going to get moving or not?" he says then, bluntly, but with an undeniably cheerful tone.
no subject
"Of course! We'll go somewhere where they have comfortable stuff to wear, okay? This way!" she declares, leading the march to their destination.

It's when they start getting to places where there are more crowds that he draws a bit closer to her, and when he's bumped into heavily by someone walking past him that doesn't even appear to see him there, he grabs onto Nepeta's sleeve and holds it in a death grip. That way, if he falls - which is almost inevitable - she won't walk off without him.
no subject
"It's okay," she tells him, patting his hand gently. "I'm here, I won't lose you. You can hold my hand instead of my sleeve if you want?"
no subject
"... Ok," he murmurs after a few moments, letting go of her sleeve and taking hold of her hand instead. He's warmer than she is, though not by much. It feels nice.
no subject
She squeezes his hand a little in hers to reassure him that she's there, and continues on their way, heading to one of the closest shops she knows of to lessen the chances of her friend getting jostled by the crowd again or falling. If they manage to get through this trip with no accidents she'll feel accomplished indeed!
no subject
Except Kurloz, but Kurloz wouldn't do anything to hurt him, he knows that...
He'd rather not fall. It's a likely thing to happen, but not as likely if she has hold of him like that. When they get into the first shop he almost immediately starts pulling on her hand to look around. He's interested enough, but she might have to help him out.
no subject
She laughs and lets him tug her around, following along docilely enough. "They have tracksuits! I think you'd be pretty comfurtable in those. Are there any you like the look of?"
no subject
"I like thith." Maybe it's the colour, or the fact it's striped like a bee, or both! He likes it a lot.
no subject
"You can go try them both on if you like them!" she suggests, looking around for the changing rooms.
no subject
The hoodie gets a nod and pleased sound of approval. She definitely knows what to pick out for him! "Fuck, let'th do it."
no subject
"Yes, lets go!" She tugs him over to the changing room before bundling the clothes in his arms and shooing him through. "Make sure you show me how they look when you're done!"
no subject
He's gone with the red and blue hoodie first, though the hood has been turned inside-out by his struggling with it. "Doeth it fit?" It does, though the sleeves are a little long - it can't really be helped with his frame.
no subject
"You look pawesome! It's really cool!" She flashes him a double thumbs up. Really, as long as it more or less fits she's not going to notice anything wrong. Have you seen the trenchcoat she wears?
She goes up on tiptoe to turn the hood the right way out again. "Here, let me just fix this. Okay! You should see it in a mirror!"

He spends a while longer than he needs peering at himself, going close up to the reflective surface, pushing his fingers through his mop of hair as if trying to organise it. He brushes his fingertips lightly over the coloured scars on his face before scraping his hair down to cover them up, then he steps back, checks himself out for another moment, and looks over to Nepeta.
"I look better than Tholluxth," he tells her with a grin, still remembering what the other yellowblood had looked like when Feferi had got her hands on him.
no subject
"Try the other one now!"
no subject
But he rolls his eyes and goes back into the changing room to try on the sweater. He's gone for a bit longer this time.. mostly because he's admiring himself in the smaller mirror in the cubicle for a little while before he comes out again.
no subject
Speaking of which...when Mituna takes long to come out again she goes wandering around the shop for a while, and by the time he comes out she's found something she thinks is particularly appropriate for him!
no subject
"It lookth like a bee!" he points out excitedly, clapping his hands together once. He ducks down some so she can put it on his head - prime hair-touching opportunity, Nepeta!
no subject
It's almost more than she can stand! She carefully fixes his hair a little - so soft! and fluffy! - and fits the hat onto his head, making sure the antennas are in the right position.
no subject
He lifts his hands up to pat over the hat, then grins again. "Yeth, awethome," he says, moving his head so the antenna on the hat wiggle slightly.
