[At first he'd thought he fell through an open manhole into the sewer, only it didn't stink nearly so bad. All he knew was that one moment he was running, the next he was plummeting, his body hit by a rush of cool water.

Then he hits the stones of the plaza, the breath knocked out of him more out of surprise and terror than the fall. He pushes up, looking around, frantically pushing the soaking wet hair out of his dark eyes, checking that his cap is still on his head]

[Later, once he's had a chance to be welcomed, Czes can be found walking the streets. He tries to stay unnoticed, hunching his shoulders and ducking his head down if it seems that he's attracting too much notice. He's been told a lot of things about this city, and he isn't sure he believes hardly any of it.

However, there's a part of him that can't help but stare in open wonder at the things Vatheon has that aren't part of his experience. Despite his efforts to stay under the radar, if you catch him at the right moment, he may have his nose squished to the bubble, or be staring in open shock at some of the non-human denizens of the bubble.]

Pretty fuckin' cool, yeah?

[Gamzee, apparently, it one of those lucky people who managed to catch Czes just as he had his nose pressed to the bubble, staring at what seemed to me some particularly colourful fish. Gamzee gets it though. He's been here near a sweep and he don't think he's ever gonna get used to seeing what kinda amazing fish are out there.]

[Czes jumps and turns guiltily, pasting on a beaming, innocent smile. He feels embarrassed to have been caught doing something so childish without meaning to.

But when he gets a load of the guy who just talked to him, with his satanic goat's horns and his pointed teeth, he opens his mouth in a horrified shriek that....doesn't quite come out. He's left looking terrified, a little squeak emerging from his mouth, staring wide-eyed at Gamzee]

[Gamzee actually, honestly, turns his head for a moment to look over his shoulder, as if truly expecting to find something horrific there, because the thought that he might put a fright in this kid is not something that crosses his gray matter. Without seeing anything there though, even he can only conclude that somehow he startled this kid. Maybe he hadn't heard him coming?

Raising his hands, palms out, he tries to make a placating gesture.]

Woah there, lil' man. Calm down, aight. Weren't be meaning to put the fright on you.

[It doesn't take long for Czes to get over his initial reaction. He closes his mouth, swallowing. It was only the shock that did it, and he's so out of his element.

Also the last demon was just a shadow. Maybe this is the same demon.

He bites his lip and makes his eyes wide and uncertain.]

I'm sure sorry, mister demon. I didn't expect to see you at all.

[SORRY CZES Shiro has a small children radar you can't hide from him. It's absolutely precious how he's investigating the bubble, though.]

[Czes stiffens a bit - busted.

He turns and blinks up at the older man, noting his priest-like outfit and designating him 'possibly harmless'. But he'll be careful until he confirms that the man isn't an immortal - Szilard had been old and grey when he was changed, too.

His eyes go wide and he smiles.]

I've sure never been under the ocean before, Father. Do you live here?

[paladaddy]

[Nooooope, definitely not immortal here. He's not a regular priest by any means, but he's not what Czes is on the lookout for either.]

I've been living here for the last few months, but I was brought here just as many others were. You're new, I take it?

[Ah, but he doesn't know that until... in a second.]

Yes, sir. I'm new just today. My name's Benjamin, what's yours?

[Oh good. He can relax now]

[With Darkleer's attention to detail- whether in robotics or regarding his surroundings- he doesn't exactly miss the way the young human boy is staring at him. He pretends not to notice for a moment, however, just continues to go through the list he's made.]

[Honestly he doesn't even want to be out for reasons of his own, but he knows that if he stays locked up, now he has children who will pester him.]

[Finally, not looking up, he responds.]

Hello.

[He jumps and colours slightly, realizing only then that he was staring. The man is so huge and fierce-looking, with his enormous horns and grey skin. But he doesn't seem angry]

Uh...sorry, mister. I've never seen anyone who looked quite like you, before.

I imagine you wouldn't. It seems most humans have little to no contact with Alternian trolls.

[Tucking his list away, he turns to face the boy, adjusting his glasses.]

You've just arrive, then, I take it?

Alternian trolls? [He forgets to shrink back in favour of his curiosity] I did just arrive, sir. Are there are lot of...people like you here?

My goodness, you're the youngest new person I've seen yet! Hello there, how are you liking the scenery?

[Oh, she seems nice. He flushes a bit, but smiles and nods readily]

Yes, miss. Uh... it is pretty keen. I've never seen so many fishes.

[She's very nice, and all too eager to chat it up even though Czes is a stranger.]

You know, neither have I! I've been to aquariums, sure, but there weren't schools like this. I've never seen so many colors of fish either. They look rather like flashy rainbows, don't they?

[...And she's very chatty.]

I've never been to an aquarium, miss. They do look a little like rainbows. [He smiles at her shyly] My name's Benjamin.

_{[Dizzy is certainly not easy to mistake for a human. She has a pair of angelic wings (except one is black and the other is white) and a long lizard-like tail. Her red eyes look at the boy who is watching her for a while now.]}

Is there... something wrong?

[Woah, he totally didn't mean to stare, but he couldn't quite help it.]

N-No, uh, miss. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stare.

_{[She smiles kindly at him.]}

It's alright. _{[She glances at her wings.]} I'm just glad I didn't scare you.

_{[a few people were scared when they saw her for the first time.]}

I'm Dizzy... and what is your name?

[With Czeslaw pressing his face up against the barrier like that it's pretty easy to tell that he's a new foreigner. Fai has a lot of mixed feelings about there being more children in Vatheon but he doesn't see any of them as reasons not to offer help.]

Did somebody already tell you about this place?

[He turns and blinks to see someone closer to his own apparent age addressing him]

Sort of. It's a bubble under the ocean.

So you know about the curses and stuff too?

[Because the last new person he'd talked to pretty much stopped paying attention after "bubble you can't escape from". He thinks it's doubly important that another kid be well informed.]

Can't believe you're under the sea?

[Minako see you you there pressing your nose up against the bubble.]

It's a little strange to get use to, but at least it has some upside to it. You'll also eventually get use to it.

[Oops. He stiffens and turns to see Minako, blushing slightly] I really don't know if I could, miss. You've lived here a long time?

[She shook her head slightly.] I haven't been here even four months yet, close enough though.
