3 ♐ You think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain...
Who: Expatriate Darkleer, Gamzee Makara, and Equius Zahhak; then Darkleer and Psiioniic
When: Right after this trainwreck, and then after that
Where: The highblood household
Style: Action?
Status: Closed
[All that tonight has taught him is that he is still very much the fool, and his saving graces are few and far between.]
[The journey home feels so different than the one he had taken away. That had been quick, his mind focused on a thousand other things and always coming back to one. Now? Right now, he cannot think of a single thing besides the words that have been exchanged between him and... the other.]
[It was better in the beginning. Better when it was just senseless bickering, a way to pass time and try to 'win' against the other. When did that change? Why did it have to?]
[Finally arriving at the hive he shares with the children should feel like a blessing. Instead, upon the doorstep, he pauses, staring numbly at the names awkwardly placed upon the surface. Tired, he carefully removes the title which accompanies his- not daring to crush the words into something beyond repair, just removing them- before he slinks along the porch. He doesn't wish to go inside just yet. Instead, he sinks down, sitting on the edge and shakily removing his shades. Dismissing them to his sylladex, he holds his head in his hands and just tries to breathe.]
[It is almost funny how one night can change so much and make him so very tired. ]

There are some things, Sir Makara, that have no good way of being resolved. The only good way of dealing with them would have been to avoid them entirely.
[He should have avoided Summoner entirely.]

[His face is still a mixture of confusion and the sheer, sincere desire to just help Darkleer. He's sure he could be helped! Whatever was going on... surely it could be fixed, right?]

[Equius sits up a little, shifting around so he can look into Darkleer's face. He looks nervous--the thought of talking back to his ancestor makes him almost ill--but determined.]
Some things are worth fighting and being STRONG for, even if it's hard.
[He glances over at Gamzee, and one hand rises to rub at his neck.]
You're the bravest troll I know, and you wouldn't stop doing something just because it was hard or scary. You wouldn't!
no subject
[And just... what am I, Cavalreaper?]
[Stop doing something because it's hard-]
[You're a coward.]
[Darkleer curls his fingers into his fists, and there's no hiding his feelings and thoughts with how open his eyes are. He's a failure, and he wishes he could do better for Equius, for Gamzee.]
There is the difficult and then there is the impossible... And there are some things not even Her Imperious Condescension could do.
[Carefully, he wraps his arms around them, gathering the two into his arms.]
Come. You need sleep, for all your protests.

There's always motherfuckin' miracles, bro. Ain't nothing what ain't all can't be done.
no subject
We can help you, we can help you fix it! You help us fix things all the time, we can help you this time!

[There have been more rambunctious trolls which have thrashed about in Darkleer's arms, and the children pose no challenge. With them gathered up, he gets to his feet.]
It has been settled. As I said.

I... appreciate the concern.
[And he does. Even if he feels he hasn't earned it, doesn't deserve it.]
no subject
That's what a brother got his fuckin' peeps for.
Hey, you like wanna snap into some wicked zzzs with us? Way motherfuckin' better than getting your nap on alone.
no subject
[If they can't cheer him up, at least they can cuddle him, right?]
no subject
I shall stay with you until you sleep. Come, now.
[Gently, he carries them back inside.]
no subject
He just leans against Darkleer's shoulder.]
no subject
Are you sure we can't do anything to help you?
no subject
[Once he's in their room, he sets the two on their bed and sits on the edge, which earns a creak from its frame.]
Just sleep.
no subject
Just try it, yeah? Might fuckin' help you some.
no subject
It helps, Dadleer. It really does.
no subject
We'll see. Now worry no more and simply rest.

[He shrugs a little, patting his pillow, before getting real nice and comfortable next to Equius.]

[Equius looks up at Darkleer a moment longer, his eyes mirrors of his ancestor's, before he squeezes Darkleer's arm and reluctantly tries to go to sleep.]
