That time of the month again, and Selphie noticed the people dropping into Vatheon. It's always an exciting time for her - all the possibilities for new friends. It seems to bring people out to the plaza too, making the place busier than usual. In short, Selphie's been having a pretty lonely time of it. She still feels weird about disappearing and coming back, and she's still bummed about missing the festivities because of her coma. So here she is, out in the plaza, ready to meet and greet.

Not too far from the fountain, the young woman is cradling an acoustic guitar. Passing by, you might hear a pretty little tune like this, and if you're lucky then maybe Selphie will be singing along softly too. Or perhaps you'll hear something a little different, like this. Mostly, Selphie's keeping herself happy and busy. But if she can keep others happy with her playing too, then that's all the better. Feel free to stop and listen, passerby, and compliments will go a very long way for this high spirited girl. Hecklers do so at their own risk - it won't be pretty.

The music caught the ninja's attention. Yuffie had tried to get a better grasp of her surroundings and the tune happened to catch her ear. Well, she had mostly been exploring her surroundings from roof top to roof top when she looked down.

It was a nice little sound that certainly made the atmosphere a little more cheerful. Yuffie rather liked it when things were like this rather than the latter.

So,hopefully she wouldn't startle Selphie when she literally jumped down out of no where in front of her and smiled, "Hey! That's pretty good!"

Selphie was definitely 100% completely and utterly startled at that. There was a horrific twang as she plucked too hard at a string, and really she was amazed that it hadn't snapped.

Selphie clutched the guitar to her chest, like she was frightened that she might drop it, and looked up at the person in front of her. Well, at least it wasn't someone coming to complain. She grinned back, pleased with the compliment, "Thanks!"

That song was cut rather short wasn't it? Wasn't quite the grande finale to the end of the song, though she believed she might have been the reason it stopped rather short.

There's a friendly wave with a salute of her hand to her forehead, "Sorry. I didn't startle ya, did I?"

She grinned and put her hand down and glanced at the guitar, "Do you come to do this pretty often here?"

Out of habit, Selphie saw that salute and did one straight right back, her own much sharper, definitely more military. "Yeah...you kinda did. But that's okay."

She smiled again at the girl, wondering if she was new here, because she'd never seen her around, "Hmm...I wouldn't say often. But sometimes, yeah."

Wallace couldn't resist bumping into Selphie as he walked in the Plaza. He noticed she was playing a tune or two on a guitar. How wonderful. She was so creative, he thought.

"Hello, Selphie. That's a nice tune you are playing."

Selphie looked up from her guitar and smiled at Wallace, pausing only for a second before continuing to strum lightly, "Thanks!"

"You're welcome. I couldn't help notice that you are good on a guitar, Selphie." He nodded.

Burgh snapped up from sketching a nearby tree and heard the music. A soft, pleasant strumming of a guitar. Vatheon has musicians? He smiled to himself as he placed his sketch book down and looked around for the musician. Humming to himself, he packed his things and went walking towards the sound.

He saw the young girl playing and immediately beamed. "Oh, what wonderful music!"

Selphie watched Burgh head over from where he was doing his sketching, grinning at his compliment, and at how pleased he looked, "Thanks! Just some tunes from back home...but I like them. Simple, but really pretty."

"They are soft and you play well, Selphie. Perhaps I could sketch you while you play?" He had an idea and thought it was a good one.

Having found dry clothes and a bite to eat with the direction of some friendly individuals in the welcome center, the prince returned to the plaza. He did not have anywhere else to go; at least, nowhere that it seemed he could reach, for the time being. The place was lively, even pleasant, but he couldn't shake a heavy sense of sadness.

The song the girl was playing helped, in a strange way, for its own melancholy air. He stood nearby for a moment, then smiled to her.

"You play beautifully. I have not heard such heartfelt music in a long time."

Selphie glanced up from her playing, her fingers strumming out the last few notes of her tune. She smiled brightly at the compliment, looking kindly on the boy, "Thank you very much! I'm so glad that you like it!" Yup, Selphie definitely seemed very pleased with that kind of praise.

"I suppose, that... is a song from another world?"

He takes her for one of the other foreigners, at least - if she looks, she'd notice that he still has the welcome brochure clutched against his chest.

Izumo's been making a point to get out and see all he can of the city. Considering he might be stuck here for quite awhile, it only makes sense to scope out a place to open up a secondary location for his pride and joy, Bar HOMRA. And what would be a better location than the Plaza? High traffic area, lots of surrounding shops, plus any newcommers could certainly use a drink after finding out they've been dumped into a strange underwater city.

The idea's got Izumo in a fairly good mood, so it's almost like that peaceful music he's suddenly hearing is his own personal soundtrack right now. He turns towards the fountain, where he hears the music coming from and catches sight of the beautiful musician who's to blame.

"Well, that's certainly a crime. Having a beautiful voice and a beautiful face~" His flirting is accompanied by a warm, friendly smile.

Selphie had been coming towards the end of her melody, but she wasn't quite finished yet when she noticed the man walking around, looking quite happy. She had hoped that her music was at least some part of the source of his amusement.

Her fingers fumbled awkwardly over the strings though at his words, the strings playing out the wrong notes, "Oh! Ah - thank you...?" She did smile back, though she was a little uncertain, quite sure that he was being sarcastic, or mocking her somehow (such is how used she is to such comments!)

He makes a bit of a guilty face when the melody goes out of tune. "Sorry, didn't mean to mess ya up."

Hopefully she'll be able to tell his compliments were sincere by the fact that he's sticking around to hear more. His relaxed stance has returned after his apology and he leans against the nearby wall, hands lingering his his pockets.

Ky paused in his walk when he heard the music, the faint sound of a voice accompanying it. It sounded...nice, in a way he didn't really associate with guitar music. After all, the only person who knew who played it was I-No, and she was not what anyone would call sweet or even pretty. Dangerous, more like, and that didn't seem like the way to describe what he heard now.

It was just a walk he was out on now, not a patrol, so he decided to follow the sound towards its source. He paused close, letting the song finish up before he realized he's been intruding. "I'm sorry," he apologized. "It just sounded very nice."

Selphie had noticed the figure nearby, thinking that he looked somewhat familiar. It was only when he got closer that she recognised him as the guy who spoke on behalf on the Defense Force. She smiled at that, if only thinking how different he looked to Squall.

Since he didn't come too close, Selphie was able to finish her tune, so once she was done she smiled at him and shook her head, "Don't worry, you weren't interupting or anything." She brightened even more at the compliment, "And thanks!"

"Are you certain? I know that that that sort of thing can take a lot of concentration." He smiled back, a little tentative and unsure, simply because he wasn't sure how to interact in social settings, didn't really have the instincts for it. At least she didn't look particularly bothered by him, probably a sign he hadn't messed up yet.

[As Cain walks by the plaza, he is pleased to hear Selphie's beautiful voice filling the air. Once she is done with her song, he claps elegantly. Honestly, he greatly enjoys her performances.]

That was quite beautiful, Selphie.

*Oh yay, Cain! If Selphie likes anything it's applause. She beams at him and nods her head*

Is there a special reason why you decided to perform here today?

[Luck would have it that Asuka is in a fair mood when she passes through the Plaza today. But really, what's so offensive about pretty guitar music? For all the redhead can find it in her to insult and insinuate at the drop of a hat, this guitar player obviously knows what she's doing.]

[That's why she actually goes up and listen a while. She wasn't headed anywhere important, anyway. Once Selphie hits a break between songs, she speaks.]

*By now, Selphie was used to strangers pausing to comment on her music. But she would be lying to herself if she said that that wasn't the reason she was out in the plaza in the first place. Selphie smiles up at the girl and nods, happy to hear it*

It's kind of nice hearing music here. I don't think I've heard you playing here before, but whatever made you decide to do it, it was a good idea.
