End Trial
Who: Jade Curtiss and those involved in the recent glasses plot
When: Today, February 1st
Where: Medical Clinic
Status: Semi-open
[It's been a good three weeks since Jade's little episode on the Island. Since then, he's neither moved nor made a sound in his sleep. Occasionally, the glyphs on his eyes would glow and shift, then they would dissipate again. The glasses Guy had made were doing more than their fair share of work in keeping Jade's glyphs in check.
When consciousness interrupted an odd dream, Jade was aware he was laying down on a bed and he was stiff as a board. First came a few small noises, and then little movements that were comfortable. His fingers twitched to life, toes wriggling somewhat, and his head tilting from side to side. After a few moments, Jade was feeling like he was coming back to life, pops and cracks coming with the movements. When he felt comfortable enough, he finally opened his eyes just a bit, looking at the burred image of the ceiling and then wincing. He moved some more and made another few noises as he tried to get his body to wake up further.
When he finally opened his eyes, he was greeted by blurred shapes and lights that were far brighter than he was currently used to. As his vision slowly began to adjust, he lifted his head to try to get his neck to move, pops loudly announcing his shifts. A tired hand moved to touch his face, feeling the new glasses. Guy, his eyes...
He could only remember snippets. Some fighting, a feeling of being vaguely terrified and running; pain, cold, some faces... Peony and Guy, Orphaner and someone else he didn't know. Ky was there at some point, right? And Dist? No, that lout wasn't in the Bubble or so help him he'd finish himself.
Other than that... Where his glasses were, what had happened to him, details like that were either fuzzy or nonexistant. He'd have to do a full check-up on himself sometime. When he felt more in control. He frowned at that, trying not to think so much on that complete lack he'd had when the arte had gone out of control. Emotions, impulses, things he normally kept in check. Attacking people out of the blue was the most worrisome... How had he let it get that bad..?
He'd have to focus on being able to get up, first..]

Now he just had to hope that Jade was recovered from what had been making him react strangely. He hadn't been involved in trying to fix it -- likely wouldn't have been able to help -- but he was somewhat aware of the conclusions.]
Jade?
[It was tentative, careful.]
Can I get you some water?

Here.
[ It's hard not to ask questions, but he can give Jade some time, at least. ]

Taking the water and getting a good amount, Jade let the cup rest in his lap.]
Thank you.

The fact that something had happened to worry the Troll (And the fact that his memory was so hazy) made Jade worry about the events before his coma. Getting his fingers to work was a bit of a trial, but he managed to type up a decent response.]
1. Im uncertain myself. Could you fill me in on events before i passed out.
[Thinkpan?]2. Tired and uncoordinated but okay.
3. That really depends on who you are and your judgement on right in the thinkpan.

He can't have people misunderstanding.
And yet, Dist finds himself quietly navigating the halls, casually looking around at the occupants of the rooms. No, he doesn't ask anyone about looking for someone, because that would be like admitting it and he is not going to do that. So it's with these rather conflicting feelings that he finds a certain familiar man on a bed, reaching for the unfamiliar glasses on his face.
Now, how to go about this? For a few long, hard moments Dist thinks about this, and comes to the conclusion that he should just be as always - superior.]
Ha ha ha ha ha! And look who ended being the sick one!
[Nose in the air, check. Derisive tone, check. Air of condescension, check. If this conversation is going to happen, he'll certainly make the best of it first!]
you are a beautiful person
So it hadn't been a delusional hallucination at the Coral. Dist was here. He crossed dimensions and still couldn't escape the white-haired genius-moron. He sighed and just let Dist gloat and fluff his feathers.]
Have you ever considered taking up a hobby? Something healthier than your current one.
[Knit, crochet, make bird houses, anything that's not following Jade.]
no no no you are the beautiful one
Well, through his generosity, he will deign to give a response...]
How dare you suggest that fon technology is unhealthy! Without fontech none of your theories could ever come to fruition!
[And it was pure coincidence that he came here, okay? Let's make that completely clear. His mouth twitches as he resists continuing his objection...]
Re: no no no you are the beautiful one
You rather need to find something else to do, now that you're here. Away from me, if you will.
have a super late reply
[Dist frowns and adopts a pose reflective of his huffish anger.]
What are those awfully designed things you're wearing, anyway? Am I supposed to believe that those are glasses?
yeeeesssss
gosh I missed this
homg yes they're beautiful
sobs at this beauty
sobs with because you're perfect

This was a bit of a different matter, though. It wasn't exactly the same as hovering over Luke like a worried mother, but Guy would end up poking his head into the clinic on occasion to just. Make sure. Rush jobs for fontech were always risky, and while he was pretty confident in his own abilities, he also wasn't so cocky to assume those glasses were perfect. Until he could do a final check with Jade actually in his right mind, this project wasn't done. Hell, he wasn't even sure if this coma was the fault of the coral or a tweak of his own doing. So he'd slide into the room, just long enough to make sure things weren't falling apart before leaving again.
So when he bothers to open the door today and see that the Colonel is actually conscious? Yeah, he looks pretty relieved.]
Jade...! Hey, welcome back.

When Guy is suddenly there, Jade looks over, fatigued but acknowledging his entry.]
I suppose I have you to thank for being back.
no subject
Ahhhh... na, I can't take all the credit. It's Peony and Zelda you should really be talking to for that. Without them, I don't know what would have happened to you.
Thanks for being willing to talk to me, though. You were worrying us for a while, there.
no subject
[A blunt, but honest statement. Jade is quiet after that, gaining a faraway look in his eye. He wasn't sure what to say next. There were so many thoughts running through his head, all of them guilty and hateful towards himself.]
no subject
But he isn't Luke. That's not a line Guy can step, simply out of the fact that he and Jade aren't exactly close.
After giving Jade plenty of time to his thoughts, the blonde steps forward, pulling at a chair near the bed and sitting himself down.]
Do you think you'll be okay without them for a minute or so? I never know what to think of rush jobs, and I'm pretty sure we could all agree that these need to be able to last you a while. I'd like to see how they're holding up.

It doesn't take her long to notice that he's finally stirred, and within the hour she's there with a glass of water and some simple bread.]
Good morning. Are you feeling well?
Never late!
As well as I can. I don't feel fully confident in standing, but I would like to move some.
[He's confident in himself, not stupid.]

[She sets down her tray, reaching out to take his pulse and check his temperature. The excess of mana (or fonons, she supposes) had his body temperature all over the place while he was recovering, and she wants to be sure he's not overheating right now.]
You seem much better, that should be fine.
[Zelda continues to extend her arm, letting him choose to grab on and pull himself into a sitting position or to try and sit up on his own.]

I think right now the only pain is in my legs. Everything else is just mild atrophy of my muscles from being asleep for so long.

I tried to heal you a bit, but you were already quite overloaded with magical energy and I felt that adding more might be problematic. I apologize for any discomfort. If it is all right with you, I can take a look now?
[She certainly won't be pushing his blankets up and looking at his legs without asking, thank you very much!]
